What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Breakfast.. Skipped it.
Lunch... Skipped it
Dinner ... Blanquette de veau, steamed cauliflower (more or less no carbs apart from a few bits of carrot in the blanquette). Greek yogurt, raspberries, blueberries, chopped nuts, grated 90% chocolate and a sprinkle of sugar substitute. Espresso coffee.
BG before was 4.1... 2 hours after 4.9.... By the way, that dinner was delicious, didn't even mis the mash or rice!
 
Today, Tuesday 15 November - bed 8.2 FBG 7.8. Better but I felt really "off" this morning. No wonder. It was pouring down and miserable most of the day. I did have paracetamol and a steam inhalation.

B Just TAG

L. One slice of SLC toast with 2 scrambled eggs.
Black tea all on its own. CC snowconut stick

D. Scallops & prawns in white wine, lemon juice, parsley and parmesan with creamed spinach. Little chocolate pot.

Touch wood, touch wood, touch wood. I don't feel fuzzy headed. I've rested most of the day, drank loads of water and ordered Christmas presents, some for pick up, some delivered. 20221115_183038.jpg
 
Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries washed down with a black coffee.
Late morning: black coffee and a carb killa bar.
Skipped lunch.
Mid afternoon: black coffee and a Food dr bar.
Dinner: didn’t feel like a hot meal as I was sick during the night, no idea why, not feeling sick anymore just tired and lacking appetite, so I had a low carb roll with low sugar chocolate and hazelnut spread.

Not the prettiest meal today, but pretty tasty, especially considering something had gone wrong with my planning.
For the past two days I've had chicory in a blue cheese sauce, snow peas with butter and salt, and a bratwurst. I made sure to have one third of the veggies on both days so I could have the same meal today, forgetting I only had 2 bratwursts and only realising when I was about to prepare my meal today. :facepalm:
Same portion of veggies minus the wurst definitely wasn't enough for a meal.

Found a long forgotten pack of vegan shawarma in the freezer, so I fried it with a onion, half a bell pepper and garlic. Added extra cheese to the chicory cheese sauce and mixed everything together with the last of the snow peas. :hungry:
Worked very well, and enough left for tomorrow too!

I'm completely off-topic, but for this I don't care.

@Antje77 - as someone who once worked with a lady whose son was in the iron grip of heroin addiction, I applaud you for managing to break that cycle. Addiction is a terrible thing.

Did beat crack cocaine as well. :)

Now cigarettes, that's a whole different thing...

And on topic: Had the same meal as yesterday (cheesy concoction of leftovers with vegan shawarma) with some cucumber added. :)
All finished now, with a little help of dogs and cat.

As off-topic as before (my rebellious streak is showing here), the lady whose son was in addiction was giving up smoking whilst he was in rehab. His psychiatrist told her nicotine was also a very hard quit.

Double hats off to you.
 
Two slices middle bacon, two egg and cheese omelette, fried tomatotos, two slices toast and vegimite for breakfast.
Sand crab and salad sandwiches , L/L sorbet for lunch,
Fish cakes for supper at six.

Small glass of highland fling before I had a earlly night.

Supreme effotrt made to tempt appetite…
Sunday breakfast: pork sausage, egg , bacon ,mushrooms, black coffee.
No lunch just more black coffee
Dinner, chicken thighs with lemon, olives and morrocan spices, yellow pepper. Mineral water.

Monday : black coffee breakfast,
late lunch: scrambled egg, salmon, black coffee
Dinner, left over chicken from Sunday.

Today, no breakfast, swimmking pool work out instead
late lunch salmon, mayonnaise, yogurt, blueberries, black coffee
dinner: cheesy minced beef, cauliflower, broccoli, black coffee.

Still not got much appetite. Post viral? Stress? Dunno, but not feeling right at all.
 
No breakfast as Tuesday is double dance class day.
Class 1 done
11:30 2 scrambled eggs with feta cheese and kale. Hm lc yoghurt with half a pear and 3 chopped walnuts . Cwc
2nd class
5pm burger with cheese,, no bun. Did have the chips though as out at cinema.
Watch Nutcracker ballet, new to me. Only slept though a little of it! 1 glass white wine.
Home by 9. 1 sq hm coffee cake with small vanilla ice cream
 
Breakfast @ 10am was 3x pouched eggs , 2 x bacon and some mushrooms
Lunch @1PM was spicy chicken wings with colds meats and a few slices cheddar cheese
Dinner @ 5.30pm hm mince tacos ..tacos made with cheese .
3x coffee. 1x green tea and 2 squares dark chocolate

I eat very little of the potatoes but I'm snookered when the pudding turns up! My discipline vanishes. But I am going to try the hint to take a piece of cheese with me and tell the servers not to offer me the pudding. So fingers crossed.

Coffee.
Early breakfast: Last of the brisket, pan fried with eggs. Macadamias.
Increasing carbohydrates today as an experiment so I added some mustard sauce I made for my family to have with the brisket but had been avoiding myself due to it's sugar content. Whoa - I had not realised I'd made it quite so spicy!!! :oops:

Lunch: Sardines. Buttered flax bread. Bean salad which included some rice. 1/2 large avocado.
Matcha tea made with coconut milk.

Fasting after lunch until tomorrow am.

*Carb grams today total approx 60, net approx 30.
Don't usually bother measuring. so I'm not a pro at it.

Just out of interest..
BG before lunch: 4.0
BG 30 minutes after lunch: 4.8
BG 1 hour after lunch: 5,8
BG 2 hours after lunch: 4.1
 
2.30 am been up for an hour after going to bed at 10 pm. BG 6.5 but I've had some pain killers and took them with a couple of teaspoons of yoghurt to get them down. Followed with a cup of tea, so I daresay it will be on the rise now.

Just trying to figure out how to have 3 meals throughout the day as recommended by that ridiculously young doctor. They will have to be small. I've got out of the habit of 3 meals but I will try and see if it makes any difference. I really have to do something about my weight so will have to be careful not to eat more than I currently do.

Need to start off with some kind of egg but make it just one instead of my normal 2 but should that be with a rasher of bacon?

Then maybe I can make some soup for lunch - I have some leeks, so maybe leek and something or other.

I have a piece of belly pork which I took out of the freezer yesterday, so I'll roast that for a third meal and see if I can cope with some vegetable or other with it. Trouble is, keeping it to a small portion because I do so love roasted pork belly.

I am going to be in the UK next week and was planning on buying lots of Low Carb foods ( crackers, brownies etc) that I cannot find here. Locally they really have nothing! I noticed that low carb bread is very popular on here. are there any other products that you really rate? Ketchup... I sthere a good Low carb ketchup?
Any advice would be gratefully appreciated!:happy:
 
For hard gainers to have significant muscle gains, it's crucial to approach things a little differently. You will need to disregard all you have read on online and in bodybuilding magazines because our hard gainers won't be able to employ such strategies.
