What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

B Greek yoghurt with fresh strawberries
L Cheese salad sandwich with Nimble bread and a blob of mayonnaise, handful of brazil nuts
D Veggie omelette with chopped mushrooms, red onions, red pepper and tomatoes, half an avocado

Good morning... If you like chocolate pudding you could make it with Stevia - much better sweetener I gather... Cacao powder and chia seed seems to be the low-carb favourite here... the recipe is in the Low Carb Recipe thread on the forum... it's a bit like tapioca!!
I just bought some chia seed today, and plan to try it soon (not tomorrow, as have other goodies to enjoy!) - really looking forward to it.

B: 1/2 avocado, tuna/mayo

L: 2 large drumsticks in Greek yog sauce, kale in butter

D/S: mix of coconut oil, cocoa powder and "supergreens" powder sweetened with stevia (1 tsp each). Surprisingly tasty!

B: bacon, egg and sausage at Morrisons
L: muffin made from ground flax seed and egg with cream cheese
D: cauliflower cheese with bacon and mushrooms. big glass of merlot

B: huge - bacon, egg, sausage, mushrooms
L: 2 wedges of deep fried Brie in breadcrumbs, large green salad :wacky:
S: half a blueberry and yog flapjack. BG 5.7 before, and 5.4 at 2 hrs. Result!
D: chicken thighs, mushrooms and onion with 10g carbs root veg mash.

Lunch.....Lidl roll with cripsy bacon, mayo and my very first taste of avocado...:) Surprisingly good
Dinner...Ham and cheese omelette on salad of spinach, tomato and avocado...a little mayo
raspberries and jelly

B My usual greek yoghurt with berries
L Scrambled eggs and tomatoes on 1 slice of Nimble, 1/2 avocado
D I'm visiting my mum in hospital tonight so just a balsamic chicken salad

Hello peeps, hope you're all well!

6 weeks of hell done, trying to get back on the wagon as all my previous hard work seems to have disappeared, BG running unbelievably high (hoping the lack of routine & stress) anyhoo
B 5 mushrooms in coconut oil fried, 3 cherry tomatoes and 3 beetroot (not sure the beetroot but was different)
S cheese string
L pancetta fried (I did shopping again and thought this was my usual bacon, way too thin) lump of cheddar, 3 more tomatoes and handful of pecans
D doner kebab no pitta, fresh young coconut

B: Greek yog with berries
L: Chicken salad
D: Cheese on toast using a Lidl high protein roll, cheesecake topping with fresh strawberries
S: Dry roasted peanuts and one square 85% chocolate

Hey, Weirdy! Good to see you!
How are you and the missus? Give her my best.

B: chicken and mushroom leftovers
L: chicken salad
D: chicken livers, peppers, broccoli and asparagus. Followed by Strawbs and cream.

We are in the process of emptying our self catering holiday cottage fridge before we trundle home. Tomorrow's brekkie looks like it's going to be interesting!

B: fried eggs, bacon, asparagus

L: drumstick, radishes, yog; blue cheese to finish

D: courgette/aubergine moussaka, rocket/watercress salad

Breakfast.....coffee
Lunch....Half Lidl roll spread with one portion of Boursin Garlic and herb cheese (yummy) and chopped tomato
Dinner.....3 high meat pork sausages, mushrooms, tomato and avocado...all cooked in butter with half a Lidl roll buttered
raspberries and jelly
Never liked avocado but find that throwing it in sliced up with any meat I am having...e.g bacon or sausage makes it quite yummy....bit high on the carbs maybe but they are supposed to be good for me so perhaps the good bit out weighs the carbs?

Breakfast: organic natural yogurt with cinnamon, two soft-boiled free range organic eggs
Lunch: leftover home-made meze salads made with organic veg and home-grown organic herbs and chillies,
Dinner: ? not had yet !

B: Chia pudding (never tried it before, so just had 1 Tbs in diluted cream, plus cocoa and supergreens powder) Verdict: not bad, looking forward to other combinations

L: Bone gelatin and meat scraps from the beef stock I made overnight (in the slow cooker), Sriracha sauce, radishes

D: not needed

Hi @Gezzabelle

Avocados run at about 17g carbs per whole one but they have loads of fibre so the net carbs are really low :) They're also an excellent source of 'good' fats & potassium so definitely good for the low carber - I'd stick with them if they don't spike you.

Well I had a whole one sliced up and fried lightly in the butter I cooked the sausages in....they were delicious and I had no adverse spike which is even better :)

Went out last night to a little Italian restaurant.
Had stuffed mushrooms in a tomato bechamel sauce
and chicken wrapped in mozzarella and pancetta, it had
A marinara sauce with that. Thought I'd picked right." WRONG"
Woke up early this morning feeling very sick and my stomach
Is swollen, rock solid more like, so god knows what was in the
Sauce... Probably oodles of carbs and sugar.. My husband who
Isn't diabetic has been following the LCHF with me, was also
Unwell and had visited the toilet more than once.:(
Ah well ' live and learn'.

That's a shame because in theory , that meal should have been ok , wondering if it couldn't have been the chicken to blame, as in undercooked ? Hope you both feel better soon .
