What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

I used to watch Bob Ross's show the joy of painting many years ago it never ceased to amaze me.

I see many of the programs are still available on you tube even now.

Breakfast 2xCWC, nut granola, 2 eggs scrambled with butter.

Shopping trip on my bike. 9 kilometre each way. Prefer the back roads route even if it is slightly longer. It did seem very crowded in the supermarket. What happened to only 25 people in the store? Lockdown ends on Monday, but really it is already gone.

Lunch. Avocado, tomato, cheese and basil with lettuce and radish. 2 glasses of water and cup of tea.

Afternoon was wasted tidying the garden. Rumbling thunder turned into a deluge which has destroyed the drive we had laid in February, washed away much of my vegetable garden, flooded the barn ( where all the tools, ride on mower etc are kept)

Am grateful it didn't make the final couple of centimetres to get into the house, but when i look at the mess. Have no idea where to start clearing up.

Pulled myself together. Made tea.

Dinner: pork chop, already cooked, with cauliflower rice, green beans and onion gravy, also from yesterday. Water and wine.

Comfort food. Made myself a KC chocolate mug cake. Had it with raspberries and cream.

Second glass of wine also

Thanks @gennepher Was planning to post pics of the new pathways in the wild area and some of the beautiful meadow passed on the ride to supermarket. On the whole was not a bad day. Went downhill rapidly around 6pm.

What a mess, some rain thank goodness it wasn't when you were on your bike.

They promised heavy rain here and we were fearing for our many seedlings but nothing happened, not a drop.

Fbg 5.9
At 4am

Temp 35.9

Another sunny day.
Clear blue skies.
Already been to do some stuff outside.
Done two loads washing.
About to hang that out.
Then do my pastel painting.

Updating Android while I am having a cuppa.
And then out in garden for the only peace of the day, but before the extended family (of the grandparents who live there) and their grandchildren arrive, especially the boy who kicks his football against their rickety garage door all day long. And it is only a few metres away from my thatched swing where I like to sit in the sun with Popeye in the morning. Actually they have all been coming over every day since Wednesday...

And then I have to smell that delicious Sunday roast cooking all morning next door, and I cannot even go out for my Sunday lunch because nowhere open (but will I ever want do that again?)

Looks like a full English breakfast for me this morning. At least I can cook that in my electric frying pan...

Grumpy old me going to hang washing out now...

Good morning everyone (subliminally seem to miss an o out first time lately). Fbg 5.1 on Libre and left hand (so probably 8.9 IRL) Our baker, Mr Panasonic, is busy making me some bread with 0.2 gms carb per 35 gms . Libre seems to find that about right at least when used in a Pastrami and tomato sandwich - steady as she goes line for 2 hrs. Family quiz last evening - not really my thing but I do enjoying winning things (just a tad). Lamb shoulder today. Why does a retired (early), locked down kinda guy conform to Sunday roast - where's my Rebel Yell spirit? Hugs for @SlimLizzy and @gennepher. May you stay well and safe and leaders everywhere have the wisdom to both help their people provide daily bread and deliver them from evil. Seems like a basic job description really.
Edited: Thanks @Muddy Cyclist

Good Morning and 6 for me today.

Still no rain here, which was promised, so now in trouble with Mrs MC as I didn't water the many garden pots.

Keep doing what you are doing well.

Thank you @ianpspurs

I think @SlimLizzy could do with humongous hugs, so I will give her mine...

Washing put out.
It has turned windy and cold, with dark thunderous looking clouds on the horizon. The weather app says little chance of rain, but if it does then I am happy to grab my washing and bring it in. Because it will mean no kicking the football against the garage next door. Rain rain you are welcome here.

Popeye says it is too cold today, and asked for my fleecy blanket back on my bed. But I like the cold. It is invigorating and blows the cobwebs away...

6.0 this morning and the rain has finally arrived :)

Been busy landscaping and dealing with birthdays which continue thru' the month. VE day celebrations were very well organised in our cul-de-sac with people keeping to the safe distance even when they'd drunk a little too much. That ran until 0130 and included a quartet of musicians that 'found' each other despite being neighbours :)

Extremely tired this morning, no surprise there. Been out and opened barn and stable doors to help with drying out. Otherwise the neccessary big cleanup has stalled. MrSlim has sent email to man who did the drive asking him to redo the job. That helps. But weather forecast is more thunderstorms. Which doesn't.
So currently engaging in displacement activities. Cleaning things inside.
My body is reacting to the situation in a predictable way, with the unwelcome return of indigestion, fat intolerance and a few other minor issues, all caused by stress.
Sorry for whingefest peeps. Will try to do better.

That I was safe inside when the storm hit is one thing I am grateful for.

Good morning everyone from a distinctly wet and noisy start to the day in the dark and dangerous north.

The wonder wheel of a Kitchen Front Marguerite Patten corned beef meat loaf with some green stuff and gravy came in at 4.6 this am.

This morning - a forage into the depths of the larder produced a cabbage - not the best one in the world but they do peel in a bell like sort of way. So, kimchi. Cabbage all cut up and soaking in brine and some particularly heady and fiery gunk all ready to rub in in 8 hours or so.

Looking out at the rain and wondering if Sky's Beth Rigby and her pal Laura are still insiting upon sunbathing today? Well it’s raining Beth and Laura so fill your boots.

Family quiz curtesy of the programs Zoom and kahoot and son in law quizmaster.

Have the very best day that you can, the mesmerising call of the koffy is strong.
