Thank you. I look forward to seeing the results of add detail later technique. My base painting is mainly wet on very wet with some control with large brushes and a water spray. I also spray dried paint to merge colours when I start adding detail.good evening all
4.8 yesterday and 4.7 today, a bit higher than usual for me but not diregot a bit of a cold.
shopping day yesterday and picking up bits for cleaning and repair from the charity today
it's been a pleasantly sunny day but with a cold wind here.
Mum has laid it upon us that in addition to collecting her pension from the post office tomorrow she wants to go to the bank.... they're not in the same townlooks like a minor road trip day
Hope your day is treating you well
@RFSMarch and @Maw R - hello and welcome
@JohnEGreen - Melody does lovely work
@Alien Aspie - interesting start, I like it as it is and look forward to seeing how you finish it
@gennepher - I like your soaring birds, feels very hopeful and today's artwork is interesting and very pleasing (panic or not)
@dunelm - lovely cliffs for your birds to ride the thermals over and your autumn tree is so good, so much detail and controlled brushstrokes
Your technique of adding colour to the back of the painting is producing some fine effects to add to the landscape
@Muddy Cyclist - lovely light through the trees with just a lfush of gold makes for a very effective sketch. That tree sketch you worked up has made a fantastic painting, so solid and texturedI really like it
and then you went and produced another of your fantastic watercolours, I love the way you used colour in the foreground water
art bits - really have to dig the scanner out tomorrow
at the moment I'm thinking about trying @Muddy Cyclist 's technique of allowing the painting to dry and adding finishing details the next day (I have quite long hair and don't use a hairdryer so I'd need to leave things overnight to dry properly)
anyway catch up for missing yesterday
no 1 is my try at painting an area of windswept choppy little waves that were rolling across a nearby bay.

no 2 is me having a go at painting the wispy clouded blue sky.

Not good news my friend, we sit in hope with you. Stay strong.we sit in hope it isn't, and if it is it's mild and passes from her quickly...
a late on parade 6.6.
an interesting day.
London here..
we were in the eye of the storm early on, but we rode it out.
the uptick is more northern as you all know, but we are tier 2 so it's on the rise here too
For all our confidence and preparedness
Today we moved one step closer to the sharper end of things.
Lauren, as i said earlier, boss not been feeling so good, went for test.
came back positive today.
he messaged all staff.
Lauren been feeling off last few day,
intense headaches and a 'heated' spot middle of back, otherwise, ok.
she also had the pink eye over the weekend
so we begin the hunt for a test.
(A little of our saga, in the hope it informs or helps others.)
UK Govt site only list 3 symptoms for a test.
continual cough, loss of taste or smell
high temperature..( we tested and she's below 37)
https://www.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test
yet this says the temperature rise she gets in one location IS a concern AND a known symptom
https://gov.wales/check-your-symptoms-see-if-you-need-coronavirus-medical-help
so worth noting it MAY be indicative.
as for the test.
the request site was rather involved, sure many might have given up.
as her boss WAS positive, she wanted to check and get tested.
as i said the symptoms do NOT include the welsh guidance, or so we thought.
but once read, we went back.
the truth is to me.. it seems very difficult to get a test if
A your completely honest
B not too tech savvy
C not part of a test programme
the girls at work are all concerned, so have done similar and persevered with request until approved..
I know we have drive in test sites in Hyde park, Battersea, Hounslow and Twickenham, all in range,
we did get a slot today at twickers..not the closest, maybe all the others only work certain days ?
( so happy it was still in London, to be honest )
test was efficient enough.
*drive in windows up.
*instructions to advance and accept kit.
*number to call from car,
* caller outlines process
* move on to next stop to do test.
* throat, nose, swab in pot, put in zip lock bag
* zip lock bag into bio bag..(do NOT seal)
* next stop, bag checked all complete, scanned
* bag dropped in bin
* drive out.
all in 20 minutes
one curious thing, her boss was told NOT to isolate until confirmed positive.
the girls all worried he was fibbing.
Lauren also told NOT to isolate until results given ?
she not going to work now until results,
but that did seem odd.
he had the classic symptoms, she had the welsh version
so i'd of thought isolate for definite
it's what we do from abroad, right, even without symptoms to err on the safe side.
anyway for now she's still off colour slightly, but otherwise feeling well.
i'm good, and playing Nurse Ratched.
we have kept up to date with VIT C, D & Zinc
we sit in hope it isn't, and if it is it's mild and passes from her quickly...
all we can do now is be patient.
take care all.
Love the photo. I also like the way the sunlight lit up the bark against a dark sky.A good 2 hour Muddy Cycle ride this morning although the wind was being fickle and bitter cold, time to ditch my shorts and find out my cycling tights, that will scare the natives.
Colours are great today in the sunlight and a loan Silver Birch tree on the heathland caught my eye so maybe I will try and capture it in water colour at some point. I liked the way the sunlight lit up the bark against a dark sky.

Two new faces on the thread, welcome. @RFSMarch and @Maw R
Googled...oh boy, those are not King Edwards in there...more like bottles of vodka..
6.1 this morning and a bit of the sniffles but it looks like a nice day.
I had no idea what you were on about so I followed your rabbit hole and...
Remind me not to do that again
I put a like - but I do like the comedy. Red hat - such a good idea. Almond butter - I have tried that. Like an over spiced kimchi, it came out of my mouth faster than I was putting it in.Good morning all. No,no,no, yes no fbg, grandchildren workmen or dogs today at least until dogs have recovered from being Eunuched. I plan to reinsert a wonderwheel of misinformation next week and test some updated versions of LC autumn/winter food - not hopeful of taste and spike both landing where I want but I'm buying a red hat with make meals great again and getting Dido on the case. - hiss easy win @jjraak hug for Lauren and hopefully either negative result or everyone weathers it as well as @PenguinMum has. @dunelm hug for SIL and family. @geefull I am beginning to realise I like landscape watercolour bestist because of the of your work so thanks so much. @Krystyna23040 double hug needed. One for fbg and one for eating almond butter in the first place - how do you do that, it is like self harm for the palate. @Muddy Cyclist the Staffs MMIL rides again,eh? Pip,Pip old toots.
