Four possible names for today in the liturgical year but definitely a feast. I'll go with Candlemas because it helps weather forecasters. Meanwhile, in the temporal realm, Swipey bestowed a 4.9 on me early doors. Nothing to like there beyond not being a 5,6 or 7.9. Elsewhere, some have decided to anthropomorphise Swipey and claim he/she/non cisgendered.self defined device becomes senile around the stage of life mine has reached. Enjoy your day folks. @alf_Josiah well done on getting an appointment and hope all goes well today and on results day. I have no idea what an LC feast could possibly look like - mine will be mackerel and avo salad (just for a change:angelic:) - seems like an oxymoron along the lines of "reality tv."

@gennepher @Muddy Cyclist @geefull @dunelm I love the paintings of the trees. I really miss all the woodland walks we normally do it is so nice to see your paintings.

I also miss visiting exhibitions so it is lovely having the daily art exhibition.

One of my favourites was the Turner exhibition at Greenwich some years ago. The paintings were stunning and then we went on the Cutty Sark which was moored outside. A really magical day.

An exhibition I unexpectedly really enjoyed was the Edvard Munch exhibition at The British Museum. I hadn't realised just how brilliant an artist he was.

My worst exhibition was an exhibition of Japanese art at the British Museum. I love Japanese art and was so looking forward to it. Unfortunately my brain had a blip and misread the title of the exhibition. I thought it was Japanese exotic art but my brain had inserted an x instead of an r which completely changed the meaning of the word. I have never exited an exhibition so fast.

5.2 this morning. Dog walk delayed until the torrential rain stops. So coffee and more coffee.

Mr K is at Morrisons to get the organic milk. We are not going to the farm shop at the moment. Staff are furloughed and the self service milk machine is being really temperamental and isn't working that well at the moment.. Also the road to it isn't that good in wet or icy weather.

good evening all :)

4.1 this morning

I expected worse after the haggis ;) T2D is a constant mystery puzzle.

Feels cold today and we had snow this morning although not too heavy a shower. We got a phone call to pick up mr gee's repaired specs. this morning so he is quite cheered. Especially so since the assistant who does the ordering had discovered it was only a little more expensive to buy a whole frame than it was to buy the bit to do the repair so she took an executive decision and went ahead so he now has his lenses in a new frame :joyful:

On the down side we discovered that we can only make an appointment by phone :p

Lovely but cold village walk today, sweeping clouds and snow on the far hills in the sunshine.

Hope your day is treating you well :)

@ianpspurs - ooh that looks good, I've still got a big supply of dark dark chocolate to get through first though :D

@gennepher - hope you enjoyed the warmth, I was tempted I'll admit :D
that's a very large brush to be splashing ink with ;)
an impressive pared down waterfall and lovely plum blossom in your painting today :)

@dunelm - hope Mum's op. went well and recovery is smooth :)
I like your tree today very much, the bark texture is especially well rendered :)

@Muddy Cyclist - Two good plein air sketches I especially like the second one. A spring beech avenue sounds like it will make an interesting painting, if a bit detailed :) (and a bit daunting to me, I'm inclined to fiddle with detail ;))

art bit -
having another go with the resist, tying to get a handle on using it and not destroying the paper surface

Thank you.

Good news on the glasses front, Mr Gee is going to look like a new man.

Great resist painting from you, worked well. You have captured the atmosphere of a spring woodland perfectly.

good morning everyone, it’s all sleet, rain, sleet rain here in the dark and dangerous north
The wonder wheel of chicken supper came in at 4.8 this am

Another very cold yet fine day yesterday but it looks like rations have now run out for the time being. Should have panic bought another few days worth.

@Muddy Cyclist - Interesting plein air sketches and looking forward to seeing the Beech tree avenue.
@geefull - thank you for your kind comments. Interesting, effective use of resist in your painting. I have not explored that method.
@gennepher - sorry to read that you are not sleeping too well but another well described study of blossom from you on that fine old branch.
@alf_Josiah - thank you and good luck at the vampire klinik - only half an arm by the sounds of it.

Another tree today - white rice paper - I may need to order some more. Hope everyone has a pleasant pre-bin day. Koffy time.

I know the feeling for dwindling rations, our situation yesterday but today all fridges and cupboards are full after yesterday's Tesco adventure.

Great tree in those blue mountains from you today. Get some more rice paper we need your daily contributions don't want any interruptions in production.

Good Morning and 5,9 for me today, no idea why as it was fish and very low carb meal yesterday evening.

Rain, sheets of it today. First a visit to National Tyre to sort out the VW Golf which had new tyres on New Years Eve and I noticed yesterday one is a different tyre to the other three, they have agreed to change it, looks like I am going to be standing in the rain when waiting.

Keep safe and warm.

Apparently it was thieves, getting you out of the house for a specific time. They were targeting the over 70's.
So, this was a 'good' way to get an older person out of the house for a specific time frame, that only the thieves knew.
So, be very aware.
That is absolutely dreadful. Thank goodness you had a gut feeling that there was something not quite right about it.

I think that it is absolutely normal. Unfortunately my brain is really good at it. When I worked in admin and we had to send out information to all the students we were told not to proof read our letters because our brains will not spot the mistakes as we will see what we should have written not what we actually have written.

So, self-isolation. sopping wet, no sport yet. What does a guy battered by years of TQM, especially continuous improvement, do? Roam the internet looking for goodness knows what - but not that kind of Japanese art @Krystyna23040 . One found these absolutely useless snippets but I feel personally enriched, positively self-improved, so don't judge me all you Rob Rinders out there. First up was this* and then the Ianish brain remembers this . By now it is absolutely imperative I urgently calculate my own score - which seems good btw but I could do with being 40 years younger. Time well spent? Who knows but it does seem to take account of more factors than bg/A1c. Sun's out now so off I toddle round the paths of this place for hour 5 of 14.
Fascinating read if a little long *Useful tool at the bottom here - Framlingham score for diabetics this may be useful

6.2 for me this morning - possibly a bit stress related, at it was done before my GP appointment - however GP appointment went well, apparently I have an inflamed tendon and hard skin on the ball of my foot - so it was a relief all was ok and not a diabetes related thing
