What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Forgot to post BG this morning @ 6.20am it was 7.1 yesterday after lunch of homemade soup and a Ciabatta roll definitely the culprit BG rose to a staggering 16.3. Enjoy your day everyone.K

Morning/afternoon/? all. Wet, cold and winter here - what's to like? Well, apart from the Assam, shoulder of lamb later for a meal with JKP, 92 yo MIL, No 3 son, 2 grandchildren and plenty of sport on TV? I'll fbg when "they" stop putting me through machines where Swipeys are forbidden. @dunelm thanks for the art and congratulations on the walk. You are a braver man than I for eating out. The gym, acquiring provisions when JKP is incapacitated or delivery isn’t an option and school/nursery drop off/pickup are my compromises. To be fair that suits me very well anyhow except I really want to find a Church in which to really belong again*. @gennepher magical description of the sparrows and thanks for the creative. I wonder if the higher numbers yesterday are linked to "pulling an all nighter" as I have noticed a 24 hr lag in impact on bg and weight.? @Krystyna23040 great fbg and well done on hydration plus #creamgate. I can no longer drink coffee sans cream but 15 mls in 750 mls mug per day doesn't seem hedonistic. Still, what do I know? I only seem to drink water whilst exercising or when abroad. However and wherever you spend your day make it safe and fight the good fight in your own way but extremely carefully. There’s always a dastardly cake waiting to ambush the innocent.

Morening all,

This Sunday morning 4.4 ( calculation done )

stay safe all, bye for now and then.

Hi dunelm sympathy for your back pain I’m well aware of what it’s like to live with having had osteoarthritis since my early 20s I’ve been on lots of different pain medication over the years but because severely allergic to anything with Codeine in it a long time ago. The only pain relief I could have from doctors was Paracetamol which was less than useless major stomach surgery put paid to Oral meds so I was put on Voltorol gel 2.3%, recently it stopped giving relief so after researching online I found CBD OIL it was such a relief to be pain free then I found CBD in a Balm to rub on my back and keep oil for travelling when it flares up . I can’t tell you what a great product it is I use it for my osteoarthritis and soft tissue damage to my knees which physio now believes to be arthritis too. Wonderful things happen with age most not good I went to Holland and Barrett whilst we were in York I use Grass &Co brand get it when the penny sale is on or other offers they do throughout the year you can only give it a try you never know till you do and I sincerely hope it works for you too the part of cannabis that sends you high has all been removed you can read about it on Grass &Co website. Best of Luck K. PS our lovely little great grandson 2nd birthday party is off poor little boy has broken out with Chickenpox so hopefully we can have his party when he’s well.
K
Oh poor little worm coming down with Chickenpox. Soothing creams and plenty of water - lollipops to the fore. I have tried CBD and glad that it works for you. It had little effect for me.

You might be right @ianpspurs about the 'all nighter' being responsible.
We'll see what it is tomorrow.
Thanks :)

An interesting 4.0 before lunch. Felt quite hungry but didn't get any hypo warnings which is good.

Just had a mixture of whey and chia seed protein powder with a teaspoon of cinnamon powder and a topping of inulin for lunch. It sounds awful but actually I find it delicious.

Thank you dunelm I’ve tried to phone but grandson and his wife must be busy with little worm his name is Jax will try later to see how he is. I dare not go round myself has although my children had most of the childrens illnesses and I nursed all of them I have only had German Measles has a child, so pound for a penny I would catch them, a few years ago I came down with Shingles must have been in contact with someone who had Chickenpox but never found out who it was.
But on his birthday what rotten luck, he’s such a lovely little boy but so are all our grandchildren and great grandchildren I absolutely love them to bits always have and always will.
Sorry to hear you didn’t get any pain relief from CBD Balm or Oil, I find the Balm better it is surprising that it doesn’t always work for everyone my youngest son says the same he has spinal injuries after an accident when he was four years old he’s 51 years young this year, he has a trapped nerve in his neck after slipping trying to transfer from his wheelchair to his car seat hitting his neck on sill of door has if he’s not had enough pain in his life. Life is so unfair sometimes it deals some with terrible amounts of pain but in spite of it all he’s had and got a wonderful family fabulously supportive wife and same with his son who’s wife will give us another great grand child in May. So in many ways good comes from bad beginnings our family are testament to that.K

Lunch sounds fine to me. A class apart from anything Diet Doctor or Keto have to offer. Anyhow, if you enjoy it and with your track record of managing The D what business of anyone else is it what it sounds like.? I might query Montezumas though.:arghh: Now watch the Six Nations.:angelic:

Hugs @SlimLizzy
You have had a hard few weeks.
Hopefully you might be able to get a bit of rest now x
@gennepher have been "resting" for far too long. Apparently the fatigue and depression that eventually stopped me working in the garden were all part of the liver issues. So months of work to catch up on there, as well as in the house and those curtains still need finishing...
While in UK I was sleeping or just sitting without energy to read, watch TV or check my phone for days on end. Time I could have spent with family wasted. Plenty of resting going on there.
Feeling better, but still lacking in energy, have two speeds now, slow and dead slow. Am trying to get the basics done every day. But always hope to get a bit more done.

Hi dunelm I managed to get through to Jaxs mum last night he’s quite poorly but then find so is his mum she had been in bed when I called feeling very unwell. Hopefully she hasn’t got the adult form of Chickpox which is Shingles they are painful and nasty infection to have, they are having a run of bad luck at the moment but she is a teacher and unfortunately today both parents need to work so Jax has to be in nursery apparently it’s doing the rounds so no surprises that both are unwell.
But strangely enough my grandson Jaxs father is type1 diabetic and he’s come through upto now without any illness where his wife has had Covid but Grandson didn’t catch it, but I’m not complaining, so far we have had 4 of our family members that have had Covid all have come through it very well except youngest son but not surprising has his paralysis from spinal injuries is at chest level this stops the lungs from fully inflating. He’s been left with Long Covid he’s working from home from start of Covid he’s a finance manager at local council. I’m so proud of his accomplishments especially has he was in spinal unit throughout his early years when he missed out on school and in those times schools for children with disabilities didn’t get the full school ciriculum because lots of children in these schools need medical treatment and physio during school time. But he went onto college to do his GCSEs and in his employment he took exams to qualify him for the job he holds now.HE IS A FIGHTER so glad he’s like me and so deserves to get on in life Good Grief this was supposed to be a short update on Jaxs Chickpox sorry for babbling on, Aftermath of staying in for 22months during Covid but I’m more than making up for it now booked 3 breaks in UK and 2 holidays abroad upto now we have missed the Sunshine for too long and it so helps my Osteoarthritis can’t wait. Enjoy your day everyone will be signing off for a few days see you later.K. PS BG this morning 7.7 after my Coffee it’s gone upto 8.4 but this always happens after my Coffee even though I’ve gone onto decaffeinated coffee. K

It sounds like you are doing great. You did a lot of trolling as well.
EDIT: Trolling ? Oh my goodness...I wrote TRAVELLING!!!
This iPad it's trying to make many enemies as possible for me. Last night in chat I wrote a particular word and that word was on, but when I sent it to the person, it had changed it and now said a completely different word. Fortunately she has a sense of humour...I didn't...

That takes it out on you @SlimLizzy

I know the feeling, the jobs to do list breeds faster than mice...

Going down again...

A night creature stole my full box of cat biscuits from 'Gennepher's Cat Diner' last night.
Who was the culprit?
I have just gone round the garden.
No remains of the cat biscuits box.
I blame Foxy Loxy...

It might have helped if I had not forgotten and left the box on my swing last night...

Creative today. A creative for no reason. Two photos taken. Played with in various photographic apps, then combined as double exposure in Snapseed...and hey presto after I put a silhouette in...

Speaking of mice - last night discovered they have been on my pantry. Enraged to find two bags of expensive fibre flour contaminated, lots of other food had to go as well. MrSlim says he cant keep them out of the walls. I don't care if they are in the walls. Just seal up the cupboards!
It's an extra job I could do without, floor to ceiling pantry cupoard needs emptying and cleaning. Everything in it will have to be washed. Two other cupboards as well and they have been making messes in the oven. SCREAM!!!!
Hate having mice in the kitchen.

I heard that scream @SlimLizzy and I don't even have my hearing processor on...

I know that feeling. The little blighters visit me too. They know just when to strike, when you are at the end of your tether...

My kitchen has everything in at last one plastic container, some are enclosed in a second one. I have a kitchen full of plastic containers...

I have extended an invitation for all my stray cats to visit my kitchen...
