Hug for such news.Good morning everyone from the Brecks on the Feast of St Simon and St Jude, Apostles. I'm not sure one is meant to celebrate that by testing positive for COVID but I'll be a trend setter for once. NHS informed and will contact me regarding treatment. I was due to have some treatment today but obviously that is off. @dunelm good to know the course was helpful and you had a catch up with Mr Miggins over a lovely meal. Thanks for the art. @gennepher your creative captures the sun and palette this time of year superbly. Thank you. I think today will be one joyous round of tea, paracetamol, temperature taking and naps. The good or bad side of LC is there is absolutely nothing remotely like comfort food but we do have vast stores of tea and almond milk
Thank you. I'm still analysing my food and hopefully the tablets will help. As I said earlier, with 4 vaccinations and these tablets I'm in a far better position than people in similar circumstances in the early days of this virus.Hug for such news.
Not what you'd wish for.
Hopefully it is as mild as it can be.
Have a sneaky suspicion, that keeping a tighter rein on our food intake is very beneficial to fighting many illnesses.
Covid particularly so, in regard of its seeming modus operandi of attacking our weak spots.
All that lowering of carb intake does seem to point to much lower inflammatory markers .
God bless, this storm passes quickly.
Oh dear, how unpleasant for you all .MrSlim has just had a extremely upsetting phone call from his aunt. He has few relatives, she and his son are the only ones he is close too and he makes a big effort to see her every time we are in UK.
His aunt is an internationally recognised artist and we are both great admirers of her work, which is tiny and very detailed. She said that she was preparing for an exhibition and has discovered some original artworks are missing. Which is shocking - but worse she thinks that either I, or one of our sons has stolen them.
This is based on the fact that we are the only people she has had in her house since covid. One of our sons slept in the bedroom where the works are kept. She didnt actually accuse him, or me, but now both MrSlim and I are banned from the house. She will meet him (and me?) only in town now. MrSlim is devastated. This is such an important relationship to him.
We were both appalled when she first mentioned that some pictures had gone missing and asked who had them on Facebook. Knowing how cluttered her house is we both concluded that they were mislaid and would turn up. However we didn't realise that the post was aimed specifically at us. Aunt says that nobody else has been in her house.
We both know that once she has taken a position on something she holds to it. So thinking that the pictures are stolen she won't be searching for them and will probably believe to her dying day that one of my sons took them.
Aunt has a heart condition and has not been well enough to work on her art for some time. She says the shock and distress has exacerbated her health problems.
The exhibition has been cancelled.
So sorry to hear that you have tested positive@ianpspurs. In this YouTube video, cat, Midnight, is sitting on the swing, and this fox, Foxy Loxy, is going round and round in an anti clockwise direction.
Foxy Loxy comes in at this point by the swing, because when my neighbour built a wooden fence along the dividing breeze block wall, he created a passage that the wild animals, foxes, badgers, and stray cats, could easily enter my garden.
Foxy Loxy comes in at this point by the swing, and then either goes over to my vegetable garden for a rummage, or goes up to the top of my garden where the apple trees are, and then comes back down again to the swing. Foxy Loxy does this repeatedly. This night, he did it for over 4 hours.
The main plus point of the foxes and badgers being in my garden, is that I have virtually no snails or slugs any more. There was literally a carpet of snails and slugs before these two wild animals paid their nightly visits.
The nights have been warm, so Midnight has started going out to the swing during the night again. That cat looks like he is plotting something...

The sun is often blinding this time of the year, because it is getting lower in the sky...
Have a good day.
Time for another cuppa...

It is intriguing, watching the gradual detail unfold @dunelmGood morning everyone and sorry to be so quick and skip though. Not good news @SlimLizzy and hope that this is not signs of dementia or Alzheimers creeping in - very distressing. Off out - well, out out - but not to that place some folk call Mordor. A bit more scribbling and hope that you all have a pleasant day - koffy first, then out.

It's brave whatever it is @gennepher with all those critters patrolling your garden.Fbg 6.5
What is it? The creature on the ground...
Most nights (according to the trail camera, this 'alien' comes from under the swing.
This is the best set of clips I have from the 'alien' so far.
Four clips. The last one is 'him' returning to back under the swing for the day...until the next time, when, as regular as clockwork, 'he' comes out just after 2 am, and in the last clip, the time will tell you that it takes 'him' over two hours to do this mammoth trip for his nightly feed of the spilled bird food. And returns to 'his' daytime bed under the swing...which is outside my bedroom door...
The noise at the end is the wind chimes sped up...
This 'alien' has been around for over 2 weeks now, to my knowledge.
The original video was 3 minutes long, so I had to speed it 10x so it is now 17 seconds long.
The cat looks strange sped up 10x !
Will someone tell me what this 'alien' is, please...

I need a nap now!
Was awake early...
And a cuppa.
Have a good day.

Has been a busy little week or so.
2 sessions with my gym trainer.
Useful, showed us some floorwork last week, simple stretches, etc.
This week, more focused on the machine weights & how they operate.
Seems a few have dual purpose, and requires a pin or such simple change to swap it's roles
I feel so much more confident using them now.
No more tentatively examining them, then scratching my head as I walk away defeated.
Only down side is the class I take is 7pm.
A little extra time spent after take me to 9pm-ish, where hunger gets me when I get home, so eating too late at night.
I know the solution is to eat earlier instead, but I find it lays heavy on me before the exercise...ho hum
I will find a balance, I'm sure.
Two other visits with our Steph were very enjoyable.
She's nice and confident around the weights & treadmills etc, so nice to share what little I now know of the machines to expand her knowledge too.
And in return she ran me through a few of her routines in the weights room.
Enjoyed all visits, but have to admit to feeling every stretch & push the next day.
But all in a good way, and of course I realise I am starting back from a standing (laying ) start after near 10 months very restricted mobility .
So very grateful to even be at this point, regardless though
A long preamble to say I'm no testing, as scores are too high to be of much use or inspiring at the moment.
Otherwise, enjoying the new found freedom I have to walk, even if it is at a much reduced pace then pre-accident, unaided.
Limp is clearly visible, and one of the things i need to work on improving over the next month or so.
Strange how just walking can exhaust me.
That long run tiredness when you struggle to put one foot in front of the other weariness.
And after only a short time too, but sure stamina will improve, please god.
All in all, the most promising part of my whole year to date.
Not quite out of the woods, but feel I'm getting to the edge.
A place where the triple canopy is swiftly passing behind me and I can see sunlight once more streaming through the trees ahead.
Pic was a fav, 60th birthday celebration in Goa.
The Game type notes was how I felt back then, so I've updated them to reflect my mood.
Enjoy the weekend allView attachment 57202View attachment 57204
Good evening. Had my HbA1c test yesterday. Just seen my results on line. Despite the increase in Gliclizide medication since my last test at the end of July my result has increased from 77 to 87.0 mm. My liver function test is not good either. If the doctors surgery don't contact me by Monday pm I will request an appointment with the doctor who increased my medication and see what else can be tried. Until then there is no point in spending the week-end worrying so --mixed emotions atm. Hope the week-end goes well for you all, especially those who are struggling in some way.
ThanksIt's brave whatever it is @gennepher with all those critters patrolling your garden.
Enjoying the pictures of late.
And of course the glimpses into the nocturnal works are a delight.
A good point I hadn't considered...mmh.Thanks
I would have thought the foxes might have eaten it. But is it edible?
It is big when 'fully' stretched out. Nearly a handspan. Slugs aren't that big. Are they?
Looking forward to seeing the finished version. There is only one of your paintings I didn't enjoy. It was the one where you looked down the really steep stairs. The finished version was so realistic that I felt dizzy just briefly looking at it.Good morning everyone and sorry to be so quick and skip though.
