What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

I lost my woolly hat, it fell off somewhere in the bungalow...so I am now wearing my furry Russian hat with ear flaps..
Your furry Russian hat sounds great @gennepher. I bought a balaclava type hat last year because of a one star review It had. 'Avoid this hat - it is too warm for the UK climate'. Obviously it was going to be the perfect hat for me - and it is.

I do that as well sometimes, when there's a poor review on something and I think that sounds just great for me @Krystyna23040 !!!

It was such a relief when the vet said that she wasn't worried about the blood. We had thought that we were going to say goodbye to him. We were so relieved that he was going to be OK.
I still remember all this on Popeye for the last few years of his life and he kept on going and going and going @Krystyna23040

It is such a relief...

Fbg - the blood glucose monitor is still not working in this cold. I'll wait until this cold snap has passed and see if it comes back into action...

YouTube video on my nighttime trail cameras is cat Jade watching ghost cat, ghost cat is very still, and vice versa, but then along comes cat Midnight...who is following ghost cat...and Jade just sits there blinking...

Creative is Autumn, but to be frank with you, I call this season Winter...

Time for a cuppa...

EDIT: Temp dropping further , now -7C
It often does this around dawn...

Wonderful - have you been buying bits of sky from that Turner bloke again ;)

Sometimes the USP & clincher for a deal is clearest in the review section.

Great spotting, btw.

Good morning everyone on another day in slippy slidey land here in the dark and dangerous north. Bin day today. Smart meters - no, no and no. I prefer to send in my readings at the end of each month after first taking photos of the meters (sometimes in feet and inches). They seem to be OK with that and are now only sending me reminders that I can have a smart meter fitted for free every quarter instead of every week. Hot tip if you are going for an X-ray, take a bag of ash with you and when the Radiographer walks out, tip the ash on the bed and dash over to hide behind a door (the word ‘dash’ does lose some of it’s flavour as we age - and yes, the word flavour does have the letter ‘u’ in it you crazy US spell checker). It might rain today. Will it be enough to turn the roads and paths into a winter wonderland of safety hazards when the temperature plummets tonight? Art bit finished, best get some koffy on the go.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen, a special mention four, fore or just plain for @dunelm and his useful tip for those who have ex rays scheduled.

A rock or frozen solid 6.4 on that meter this national bin day morning.

If I don’t wake Mrs J up shortly I might not get taken fodder shopping, missing out on my usual naughty old man pranks and being banished to the koffy shop, oh decisions to make.

Not wishing to boast, but down in the soft sarf we had a -7C last night so much four global warming, yes I know the word is spelt for, but Engrish is such an imprecise language and me, me’s and myself just can’t be bothered with getting my few remaining brain cells to learn the subtleties.

Now it’s time the walrus said for safety koffy and prodding the sleeping dragon.
Stay safe, bring a smile to a strangers face, remember we pass this way but once, unless it’s Groundhog Day, but we know it’s national bin day.
Oh and stay warm.

Like a scene from a Cat Eastwood spaghetti western....

The Good, The Bad & the Ugly comes to mind ...

Tho' I detect hints of Dirty Harry..

Hello everyone from a -8 start to the day in a now sunny, bitterly cold, strategically useful to Uncle Sam but left behind clearing in the Forest. @dunelm thanks for revealing and sharing your art which can now be seen in all its glory. Did you always know how that would end or did it just become? As for those x-ray tips, thanks but no thanks. However, you may have put an idea into the mind of one who needs no help. You should know better being on the gifted spectrum. See me after school please. Smart meters or old school readings aren't really the issue IMHO anymore than weighing scales are the cause of obesity. I'm not sure how so many Brits being scared to heat their homes or cook sensible meals is driving Putin out of Ukraine. Nor am I sure how baiting nurses and others into strikes serves any purpose other than making the swivelled eyed nostalgic. Do please enlighten me anyone. @gennepher it is definitely winter by the thermometer and that creative captures what little I now find likeable about the season - the image/imagination. Ms Imbruglia had it right regarding illusion never changing into something real - for now. I have a beaver fur Ushanka but it isn't quite time for me to wear that to bed. @Krystyna23040 good news on Archie. As for #woodburnergate Elf-N-Safetea with no plus sized room and several small grandchildren, plasterboard walls and lipstick on pigs syndrome militate against that. One more winter and this shower should be given the old Spanish Archer unless they put us and themselves out of this miserable shambles. JKP's hospital appointment goes ahead today as it is in the heart of Matty boy's constituency not Cambs. Gee up very up market, Petro state owned, Neddy type of thing. Stay warm, avoid slips and trips but keep taking the pills or not - whatever boils yer bacon.

I hope you also time date on the front of your photo meter readings @dunelm because if there is a dispute over the reading, suddenly your previous submitted photos they accepted, suddenly become suspect if it suits their ends...

Art bit...into the abyss we all tumble...very scary ..

Thank you for the art comment @ianpspurs. I had a basic idea about how it would turn out but going for monochrome was a last minute idea. Best way to heat a room - here is script from a podcast (link to podcast on the page) - basically, use your gas for the house or an oil filled radiator for a single room: Heating your house or room

Oh yes, we are all tumbling into the abyss but safety suits available for inflated prices on the interweb. Photo’s are time and date stamped by the phone so that’s OK.

Morning all.

FBG last night 6.8

After a little guidance & your opinions if you don't mind.

Lovely neighbour sadly passed away recently.

So we noticed his cat was now hanging around outside in the street.

I began feeding it.

Speaking to other neighbour seems the brother was going to come collect the cat.

Which I was told he did
(No contact details for him , so Chinese whispers.)

Laurens tells me cat I feed is a rough street cat (beats up the others, so she says ) but does look similar to our neighbours one.

But it's bitterly cold outside at moment, so even though it's not the cat I thought it was, it now hangs around & mugs me to feed it, which I do happily.

Sharing pics of this rough stray, reveals it IS my deceased neighbours cat.

And brother has taken the rough street cat in error.

No way to contact brother I can think of

Lauren thinks charities won't want the cat & if they do it won't get rehomed...very much not a kitten.

Frankie loves Marley cat, but hates this one , so hard to see us taking it in...( Tho I'll be honest I am tempted, but it's a joint decision I can't make alone )
And it probably causes as many problems as it solves, sadly.

So, I'd be grateful for any suggestions...

Or contact details for Solomon would be nice
:(
