Fantastic news...Thank you @ianpspurs, @Annb, @dunelm, @gennepher. Mr K started improving very quickly after the first dose of antibiotic. By yesterday evening his temperature was normal and the coughing and wheezing was much better. Thank goodness for NHS 111.
Today he is even better. We are having an absolutely wonderful time here at Holkham with daughter and her family. We have all retired to our rooms for a nap as even the grandchildren are tired. Walking along the beach and through the pine woods in the morning was magical. Then a lovely Christmas meal.
Wonderful news on Mr K's recovery. The beach and pine woods must have been lovely. I've only seen that Hotel from the outside but that gave the impression of being very welcoming. I bet they have Assam Tea. Waitrose is closed tomorrow as well.Thank you @ianpspurs, @Annb, @dunelm, @gennepher. Mr K started improving very quickly after the first dose of antibiotic. Thank you@ianpspurs. No testing for me! Glad you made happy memories. We had our Christmas lunch early yesterday at home as this afternoon we spent with mum in her nursing home. The first face to face Christmas since the start of Covid/ lock downs so a blessing. Best wishes.Merry Christmas everyone. I know those who must calculate insulin dosage need to test but what's the excuse for the rest of y'all? @dogslife wonderful to hear from you and have a safe and happy time yourself. 3.30 start here with two members of the Elf Squad - mum and dad did talk one back to bed at 12.45. Some wonderful memories for the Elf Squad, their parents, great grandmother plus JKP and myself. Here is a poem for Christmas day and a longer one here - some will appreciate the art. Parts of today or the coming days may allow a period of quiet reflection, The Milton one is actually the one in Guite's anthology. @gennepher such a wonderful creative and words. So colourful and cheerful. Thanks to you and I'm sure we all wish you the same. However you spend the day, so be it.
Whoa! Another of those vertiginous spirals. Dizzy-making.Good morning everyone on a wonderfully quiet start to Boxing Day here in the dark and dangerous north. Turkey in a slow cooker - a first and a good outcome. It enabled us to go out and about visiting and then back in time to prepare a meal for four. Just Miggins and I with eldest son and his partner. She did a 10 hour shift yesterday, from home and a little bit at our house, with timed breaks logged by an official looking laptop. There was the odd murmur like, “ram raid”, “RTA”, that sort of thing - a scenes of crime officer working as duty dispatcher. What fun! Some interesting and thoughtful gifts changed hands, the TV remained firmly off and all was well in our little worldly bubble. I even managed a quick sketch between sips and adding yet another Christmas Dinner ‘must have’ ingredient from the timing list to the cooking machines. I hope that you and all you know had a wonderful day and that today will be just the same. I now need koffy.

Image, slippers, socks and presents one really wants are wonderful. Getting old completely sucks. If you need tips on being grumpy - also known by some as telling it as it is/antidote to boosterism - I'll "ask a friend" who is bound to have loads of tips.Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and all who are skinny dipping in stretches of water.
No blood sugars being reported from me, me’s and myself, taken, but not reported.
Now I can confess I am officially old, I wanted a pair of slippers for Christmas and was really pleased to receive a pair. Now I must work on the grumpy part.
If I manage to master the technology I shall attach a picture of my slippers and my assassins guild socks. Getting old is wonderful.

Despite all the ups and downs, aches and pains and the inability to translate the fruity language of the young, getting old is still a privilege I think. So many people don’t make it. Take care Derek.Hi all,
It was good chatting with our 16 year old grandson yesterday, he has developed a dark brown voice and mature outlook. He was due to play monopoly with his Mum and Dad in the afternoon and was hoping they wouldn't argue too much! His mum and dad are unbelievably competitive.
Getting old is difficult some people are fitter than others, but life, even when old and problematical is good.
I had a chat with one of our friends this am, he is younger than me and just had lymph glands removed due a melanoma spreading. He is brave and optimistic but has a difficult problem.
We pray he recovers well.
