Nighttime TrailCam video...
This one is from just before Christmas (I keep finding one I haven't posted!)

Cat Jade's night - watching the cats and fox

Cat Jade
Cat Midnight checking on Jade from the distance, then he comes back to me in my bed, waking me up, and then I get up and make a cup of tea...
Ghost Cat (#1,:there are several ghost cats who visit, their ginger colouring makes them look white), he is a nightly visitor
Foxy Loxy, he is always mooching around...

Creative...I am having a bit more fun in ZenBrush3 now, remembering what all the buttons are, until I press 'save', but the delete button is right next to it...aaaggghhh...

All the reds today...

Time for a cuppa...

Have your best day...

Smashing - that will set the world on fire

Good morning everyone from a late start this morning in the dark and dangerous north. Bloods this morning were 5.4 - not bad as we had people round for dinner last night - they tasted awful but we did run out of apple sauce. Interesting world we now live in; “yes, come round for dinner but do a Covid test first and if you have a cough, bla-blah, bla-blah, bla-blah.” Art bit - another starter for 10. Look after today, it won’t come round again. Must finish my koffy.

When did these rules come in? Bought our ebikes several (5?) Years ago. Haven't been out for a ride for some time so can't remember speeds achieved, but sure sometimes above 6mph. Although mine gives speed in kph.
Aha! Oops! that means it was 45kph downhill.
Oops indeed...
Does make quite a difference :hilarious:

Got mine to 29 mph downhill.
...:D

There are links inside the article to EU Directive documentation, but they need a pdf download which I haven't done personally.

As I read it the major shake up was 2016...

And from snippets around web any bike pre change (2016) would legally be able to use throttle that goes over 6mph.

* Some online stores do sell E-bikes from that era

It is after all just a bike with electrics, so no reason the bike part shouldn't last many many years.

The problem is the battery.
Expected real time life is circa 3 years (number of charging cycles before battery decline/charge begins downward spiral )

Technology moves fast, battery sizes & styles change, makers cease trading , etc

And with weathering of wiring etc, finding replacement batteries or parts seem very problematic.

So while not impossible, likely more on the rare side finding one in good nick.

It's possible your ones could be pre 2016 depending on model & stock retention ( a purchase around 2017/2018 ?)

I would guess if the label matches legal power outputs, no one's really going to check the throttle capabilities unless the rider is doing wheelies without pedalling ...lol

But that's not guaranteed, obviously.

Travel safe &
Enjoy the miles

As of 2009, the “EN 15194” European product safety standard was published. In 2016, directive 2002/24/EC was repealed by regulation 168/2013

Just had a Zoom class from Kirsty Wade as part of a group. The others all seem to know each other so I guess the class has been going for a while. Hadn't realised just how little I could do due to my left shoulder - most of the exercises were using arm and shoulder movements. Doesn't work quite as well using only one arm. Never mind - maybe it will help my shoulder to loosen up a bit (should have an optimistic emoji to go in here). We can only try.

Liked the apple sauce quip and yes a whole new book of etiquette for those who have people round I guess. Never been on my radar but I can see the diplomacy involved. That latest art work is intriguing - a wheel? will there be a mill - JS or otherwise. Do you have a utility room/knife/phrase? I don't recognise that must be due more outings.

Hug @Annb for the shoulder

But bravo for the zoom.

I only used that once 2019 for job & last year for therapy

Great when it works well & first time.
And a learning/adjustment curve to interacting I found .

Unsure how helpful my post can be, but at similar time to my accident, nephew tripped over bike in his hallway and broke his shoulder too.

Therapy for both of us was what we called "the spider".

Simply face a wall or surface side on, bad shoulder side to wall & walk your fingers up as high as is comfortable, but try climbing a little higher each week..repeat 10x
And do daily .

I also got shown a weighted lift to improve movement & muscle strength

See pic below

Repeat as comfortable 10x.

When I started, I could only do without a weight.
And THAT was a challenge .

But I could soon do them with a weight (can of soup).

Now back at gym I'm able to continue that progress by using dumbbells (5kg).

Not quite able to raise barbell & weights again safely, but getting there.

May not be suitable for you, just thought I'd offer what little I knew & had experience of shoulder exercises that worked for me & my condition at the time.

Best wishes, zoom improve things as you go :)

It was, seated normally , rest elbow on thigh/knee.
Raise arm fist pointing skywards pivot Lower forearm from elbow only, down between legs .
Lift arm upwards & outwards to just in front of knee.

Repeat as comfortable 10x.

Thanks for that. It looks likely to be very helpful. I'll certainly give it a go. Plenty of tins of chickpeas and haricots in the cupboard to use as weights.

I thought the second pair of eyes belong to Jade?
There is only one pair of eyes on the painting of the tree branch from yesterday, and they belong to Midnight's head.
I can't see another pair of eyes anywhere, but cat's eyes do appear when I least expect them...

It's the way I scribble branches sometimes...

Hi @lindisfel .

A post here that may be of interest, if you haven't spotted it already ?

Looking at the image again, I can see why there might be thought to be 2 pairs of eyes. Each of Midnight's eyes could be seen as one cat, so 2 cats staring out, side by side.

Ah @Annb
I see!!!
He does have a nose between the eyes! In a paler black.
And his head has one full ear and one short ear.

And on today's painting, it is a similar head for just Midnight.

I am still trying to get the size of it for it to be seen on a mobile phone screen, for example.

I will try again tomorrow....

Morning all from a dry, cooler especially odd town inside this Eastern Oddity/giant pig farm/US aircraft hanger. No blood sugar readings but all the fun of the fair/nonsense of IF, carb-counting and dietary analysis. I strongly suspect more habit/Linus' blanket than any earthly use. @Krystyna23040 good news on yesterday being relaxing and acceptance in the Facebook group. Obviously very thorough due diligence. @alf_Josiah I hope the breakfast proves suitably sustaining for a busy day. @gennepher best wishes for the medical issues/errands. Thanks for the creative - I like the orange - and good news on remembering more about ZenBrush3. @SlimLizzy mixed news for you. Good that you had a catch up with your son and your jabs are booked, not so good on Kiki and the prevailing COVID rate. Yesterday Nan London had a 93rd birthday schooner of sherry and a celebration meal complete with sparkling fountain in her cake. We couldn't find a 93 candle or combination of said numbers. Major task today is to track down a suitable electric blanket for her - has everyone in the UK been buying them? Do what you gotta do today and travel in hope it really is as though malign imps are driving slurry spreaders round and round out there just now.
Thank you @ianpspurs for the good wishes and painting compliments.

Glad Nan London had a good 93rd birthday.

I am going back to sleep. Tired since I got back home...

Interesting place that sketch...
Is that a water mill I espy @dunelm ?

Some recipes for those wanting to kick start their low carb New Year ;) As the saying goes, the devil has all the best tunes. Actually, the attached does look mighty perty and on reflection halloumi fries (non vegan but I could try in Feb :D ) with kimchi and avocado could work for me. I've never gotten (it is in the KJB) celeriac fries to work - taste is good but just plain soggy doggy - not what I want in home fries. I found swede (not Ikea/volvo/very tasteful sense of minimalist style/best crime dramas on TV. The root veg - probably rutabaga here) more filling and slightly crisper but way too strong a taste. Any tips apart from writing them off as a waste of money, time and power? Anyone tried this? (easy on the paprika for me. Maybe just show it a picture) I assume air fryer would work best for £s.
Edited to spell vegan correctly. Other spellings will do for now.

Had an interesting sort of day with the mild physic not mild at all.

Was emptying my bowel all night right up to going out to the car to go to hospital at 0900 this am. Had to wear incontinence pants and change them three times. No food for breakfast. FBS 5.5 at 0810.

The scan was unpleasant but staff excellent, they gave me a cup of tea and four slices of buttered toast to eat afterwards and waited for me to feel better., after filling in a form I could go but actually had 15min aura migraine.

I drove back as well because duchess didn't know the back road we had to use to miss a big traffic delay we had coming into Carlisle.
Needless to say we hit a flooded road coming home I would not have attempted without a Range Rover so we back tracked and got round it.
I had my usual lunch with two eggs olive oil and small baked potato. Plus one square dark chocolate, half large orange and full fat Greek style yoghurt.

Went to bed for the afternoon and slept off the worst of the Gastrografin. Got up and felt somewhat better

Marjorie watching Arsenal tonight but it don't look an inspiring match.
Thanks all for your good wishes.
D.

Had to change, brain not engaged, it was a migraine aura which was just visual, not aural! :)
