What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

He was okay, but with being deaf, I couldn't ring anyone for him. Someone else stopped, I passed the baton over to him, and got to my appointment 15 minutes late.

The 'asthma' nurse asked me a few questions, asked what my peak flow was, and then said I had to come back next week to see the head nurse. And I am thinking 'really...you (the surgery) made me come in on an icy wintry dangerous to drive morning just for this level of service'. These questions could have been done online, she did no tests or anything, and then an appointment made with the appropriate person based on my online answers. Saves everyone's time.

Got back home. Was very tired.

Still doing the editing on yesterday's wildlife cameras. About a quarter way through a painting.

I have no inclination to finish either now, not for today.

But when I got home Midnight was on the garage roof. I have never seen him on there since that day he first arrived in April/May 2022.

I took a photo of him.

Then something occurred to me. He could see my car driving away when I went out this morning from that garage roof, and he could see when I came back from the garage roof.

Then something else occurred to me. On the trail camera, the wildlife camera, the foxes, the badgers, and the cats all look up to that corner of the garage, and I was thinking it was a bird or an owl or something. But I am now coming to the conclusion that is where Midnight has been surveying his kingdom during the night watching over everything....

Here he is, watching his kingdom...

And I am going to veg out for the rest of the day just drinking cups of tea...

That is really bad service @gennepher. Your idea of doing the questions online and then being referred to the appropriate person is a much better way. Perhaps you should take change of the surgery. :) :):)

I was sorting my photo album, that is deleting as much as I could to create space.
I found this video from about a week or so ago (hiding among my digital paintings).
The last video where Jade still occupies centre position on the swing...
What was making the fox wary of under the swing?

There is a ginger cat at the front of the swing, but I am pretty sure it is not new cat Merlin, but one of the regular ginger cats.


SORRY...I am out. Mobile phone not the easiest to correct a post or add a link on. Very skittish ....


Creative was begun yesterday in ZenBrush3 and finished painting in Procreate this morning.

Time for a cuppa...

Cold but not frosty this morning. 1° C
Yesterday went to buy some English plaster. Sad story of a failed project, family arguments and two beautiful young cats looking for a new home. Their original owner has already left and the remaining couple have three weeks before they put the house, gîtes and the other buildings up for sale. Lovely friendly boys, brothers, but we cant take them... wish i knew someone who might.
 
The A47 is a bit of a nightmare at the moment. The traffic lights at the roadworks between us and Norwich are set wrongly. They only allow 5 cars to go through at a time towards Norwich but allow dozens to go though from Norwich when lights change. It is taking Norwich bound traffic an hour to get through the lights.

Hopefully they sort it before we leave for classes in Norwich later this morning.

Dog walk is delayed until 10am when hopefully the pavements will be a bit warmer.

Latest report from the EDP.
'Radio Norfolk has reported delays of up to an hour and a half and queues of nearly six miles in the area, tailing back to North Tuddenham.

One caller reported that they has moved less than a mile in 35 minutes.'

Very annoying but at least no one is hurt. I have just read a report of the A47 closed east of Norwich because of a multi vehicle accident where it is highly likely that there will be injuries. I suppose that it puts it in perspective so I shouldn't complain too much just because of delays.

DIL will be in Norfolk at the end of February to take one of the pups to its new home. Em's elder sister will be doing much of the driving to give her confidence when she sits her test in May - it was to have been last week, but was cancelled due to the snow and ice (just as well, I don't think she was quite ready for the test due to lack of practice).

Is driving on Norfolk roads allright for a learner? She should be experienced enough by the time they reach Norfolk from Ullapool. Might not be a very fun trip with 7 pups in the back for much of the way. I think, by the time they get to Norfolk, though, there will only be one.
 
Good morning everyone on an overcast start here in the dark and dangerous north but the sun is making some effort to make an appearance. Mrs Miggins has gone to take the girl in the bubble to nursery. Her smaller backpack and water bottle is working out well. White cards have had a showing at a footy match in Portugal - designed to show recognition to clubs for acts of fair play during a match, in a bid to 'improve ethical value in the sport'. What should we have next - answers on white card only. Another birthday today - son in law - early evening table booked at an Italian Resaurant - fish it is then, and a salad without dressing. Art bit - adding more texture. Hope everyone has a good day. Careful out there, plan for a longer journey if it’s icy. Local camel racing is cancelled again! Where’s that koffy?

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen.

This mornings reading was a 5.3

Yesterday I had today planned, then the telephonic communicator made pick me up and listen demands, it appears my nice unsupervised plans for today are in tatters and I have to gather up my gear and drill holes in walls fixing a bookcase to a stud wall, I wonder what sort of books would make a bookcase wander off round the room, the mind boggles.

Stay safe and warm fellow posters and painters, my safety koffy is now brewed and shortly to be consumed.
 
Morning all from a foggy, grey, cold but still as a mill pond region I really struggle to understand or take to my heart. I feel guilt over that but lying won't change anything. Yesterday went as well as I had any right to expect. Like those times the ball flies off the middle of the bat making that wonderful sound and fielders only move to search for the ball. Procedure ( plenty of jell/gel/jelly thanks) and instant very positive feedback as required which is really what I was expecting from that. Spurs won and showed some ticker. Today is a CT scan on the current enemy within. A much more clear and present danger . What lies within is an inconvenient earworm, especially on these days, but imperative that I and my handlers know how the battle goes. @SlimLizzy hug for the anguish over the cats which does you credit I'm more inclined to see the human aspect as the tragedy there. I'm unsure the cats had hopes and dreams though our dogs dream so perhaps cats do. @gennepher thanks for sharing the creative in which I saw the cats. @dunelm thanks for sharing that impressive piece of art and enjoy the meal. @Annb that is a long haul for Em's big sister. Main roads in East Anglia should be fine. @Krystyna23040 hug for the traffic issues but as you say delays can be frustrating but not terminal. I hope we all somehow feel today that someone, something beyond our understanding or lady luck has managed to look upon our infirmities, and in all our dangers and necessities stretch forth thy right hand to help and defend us. The BCP has some wonderful words and sentiments even if you think it is nonsense.

It's a long way, but that is how I really learned to drive - a journey from Canterbury in Kent to Saltcoats in Ayrshire in an elderly Morris Traveller (top speed 45mph going downhill). It took us 2 days (using A roads, much nicer than motorways). This was in 1964 - the M1 was partially completed but not finished all the way, but we just took the A1 and explored a bit on the way. I sat my test in Saltcoats a couple of months later, and passed. First time, in Canterbury, I failed - quite rightly, I wasn't confident enough to pass that time.
