I think in years to come, much as i like Americans..(Ok,ok.....but i do like YOU ..obv ;))

I'm not sure American Business, can ever be seriously forgiven, For The dreadful Halloween..and Now Black Friday...:***:

i think in years to come, these Will be the moment future historians will ponder and say
'Yep, this is where we lost sight of what was good and proper"

But i do wish you a happy thanksgiving.
a time with a proper reason to rejoice.

Love and best wishes for the day..:):headphone:

Thank you, @jjraak . (I kinda agree with you about American Business.) xx

Happy happy Friday everyone, I have been tempted by the lure of filthy lucre to work this Saturday, job and knock as they say so hopefully not a full day, hugs to all that need them and love and peace to you all.

Good morning everyone. It’s black outside and Friday - best not do any shopping.

The wonder wheel of I told you at 0300 that you were not very sleepy buzzed out a lightyear of a 5.5 just now.

The hunting of the snark yesterday: My careful planning and research from those chaps at Which and a check on best prices and Black Friday deals then following the trail to a well known store of glitter and wonder. Laptop identified, shiny new buttons carefully caressed and small chirps of approval by Mrs Miggins; the one needing to adopt such a beast. Then. Then, she pipes up, “oh! Chromebook. What’s a Chromebook?” Back onto Which and a quick search - approved one available and a tidy £100 off.
Badge wearing Corvid and font of all knowledge dives in for the kill to tell Mrs Miggins about how they are not compatible with blah blah blah blah - Utter nonsense - Miggins buys it - more discount from her blue light discount card - bosh - Lunch in Nando. Home in time for tea and medals.

Meanwhile - Across the pond. Reports that turkeys are complaining about the temperature - 400 degrees in some kitchens. Seems to have died down now.

Take care everyone - it’s the season for crazy spending on stuff to drown the planet but don’t forget the person crouched in the doorway and the queues at your local food bank. 1 John 3:17-18 (the only one I know).
Peace and Love and where is my koffy.

Morning each. 5.3 at 05.30 hrs - little point thinking too much about my bg any more - bit of a lost cause - better to concentrate on markers I can affect. @trick60 hope tomorrow's job is finished pronto; @dunelm hug for early waking - I like my Chromebook and legend has it they are pretty secure; @jjraak hug for the stream of poo days; @SaskiaKC hope thanksgiving went well. Seems to me Psalm 139 goes well as a side dish with your referenced passage @dunelm. Have a good day. My first session with a PT this morning which seems the best way forward for me.

FBG 6.5 ..but little sleep ,so i can account for that.

poo of a day yesterday.
poo of a day today.
probably a poo of a day tomorrow

nuff said.

So onto sockgate...i do think i saw a TED video about that very theory, and while NOT the same thing, it was of interest..

Seems a cohort group trial in Utah, i think...(can't find source, sorry ) had some good reports coming from the over 50 group.
( apparently the under 50's didn't comply with the Regime, something to do with 'cred')

but students and over 50's did and great success was reported.
apparently it's all to do with the 'Sniffus-testo' gland.
which within certain age groups can fail quite dramatically.

For cred you NEED matching socks, apprarently, usually of infinite expense.

But for those with 'Sniffius Practicola''..an affliction of the 'Sniffus-testo' gland...the colour co-ordination required is missing, and the simple test to ensure while not matching at least clean-ish, does seem to be THE significant factor in the reversal of many diseases.or at least in preventing the onset of those diseases, T2D among them., or so i read.

Next step is to test on mice, the higher brain power will show better benefits and more real world application abilities over students and us oldies..apparently..

And @Debandez ..aww, the pleasure of night time driving. less traffic, the music gently easing the journey, the lights of the big cites, twinkling in the background, lazily slipping by our vista...and a gadget doing what THAT gadget is supposed to do.
PERFECTION.:D

Big hug for your poo days - you may want to stock up on these:

Guessers and BS's is my experience, of many

when i first got into the idea i needed some comp skills if i was to survive in the work place
i went PC world..asked about PC and printer..how hard is it. to connect it..?
chap said he'd show me, i think i left the store with him still struggling after about 40 mins...:hilarious:

Did like and agree with that last sentiment..most christmassy thing i've read all year.

@True Blue ..****, i wanted one of those...:wideyed::arghh:
nice score, maybe it's winches and not socks..this is gonna get expensive...:***:

Wonder if that's what @trick60 is working so hard for..mmhh

@ianpspurs good luck with the session this morning.

Loves and Hugs back @SaskiaKC
hope the day went / goes well

Fbg this morning 5.7 according to finger prick 4.9 on Libre sensor. Going on a nice long muddy walk with Dennis and Mr C this morning finishing with breakfast at Heligan. It’ll be interesting to see how the sensor reacts.
@ianpspurs have fun with the PT I was expecting to ache yesterday after my session on Wed but he obviously knows his onions and the warmup/ cool down was effective.
@jjraak more hugs from me for the poo days 6.1 is a pretty decent score I’d say. I have no knowledge or experience of Chromebooks so I expect that qualifies me as an expert in PC world!
Great bargain @True Blue . It’s great to get something you actually need in the sale.
@SaskiaKC hope yesterday was a lovely day for you. I loved your poo vs Pooh post. I’ll never get tired of reading Winnie the Pooh, I loved them as a child, my children loved them and now my grandchildren love them so I’ve been reading them over 50yrs.
@Debandez hope you are up and about again today and feeling better after your bacon butty.
@dunelm I remember you posting a video about how those Japanese omelettes are made - I was transfixed. I’d love to try one but don’t think I’d have the patience to make it.

I’m not sure what to do about a tree this year with Dennis still in Tasmanian Devil phase. I did consider one of these but He’s probably **** his leg on the trunk!

I got one on Amazon DJC I did think about the 'half' tree but have now opted for one that I can stand on a sideboard...I have no idea how active the kittens will be & wanted something I could put out of their reach in case they were tempted by the branches the baubles or maybe chewing the wires from the lights...can you get one that is safely put up & out of his way...if not then close observation & confinement may be necessary;););)

Just a quick note to share.

spotted this post by @HSSS

Posted in statins so may be overlooked by many.

A long posted link, by tim Noakes
fitted my Trigs perfectly..interesting re non T2D being IR
and the impact that has on so many other illnesses.
https://www.crossfit.com/essentials/its-the-insulin-resistance-stupid-part-1

Just a quick edit to add.

"...In fact, Reaven’s unique contribution has been to show that IRS is the precursor for essentially all the chronic medical conditions that currently plague modern humans, from acne and Alzheimer’s disease or dementia to hypertension, peripheral vascular disease, polycystic ovarian syndrome, coronary heart disease, and perhaps even cancer..."

Thus, while we fret over the growing pandemic of T2DM, we need to understand that this is only the tip of the disease iceberg; hidden underneath lies an even greater epidemic of chronic modern diseases caused by IRS in those who will not ever develop T2DM but who will nevertheless suffer from any number of a wide array of conditions that, in our ignorance, we continue to call “diseases of lifestyle.” These diseases, as I will show, are more correctly termed “diseases of the modern industrial diet” of highly processed foods..."

The crux of the post is how trigs NOT cholesterol are/could be the arbiter of CHD risks
Mine halved by eating LCHF, so it matches my experience.
and apparently there is no other way to lower trigs except diet..(yet )

Well hello from the cold, windswept and uninteresting North, feeling a bit flat, Man Flu is being kept at bay (how I have no idea but long may it last) reading's are reflecting the build-up to it's arrival sooner or later. doomy threw a 9 at me today, and sidekick Sid must be feeling sorry for me as I had a 2hr cuddle with him last night (laid on my chest like a baby seal!) so much so I lost the feeling in my legs, but it was so worth it. Well you all know what today is? That's right it's only...……………...FRIDAY! A weekend full of Wine, Song, laying in a gutter with a kebab! But alas no, as usual we have to Adult I do think that being a Yoof of the 70's and 80's was a simpler affair, get up watch a bit of telly, go out and about, aroamin' in the gloamin', sort of thing drink until you fell over and then find your way home without a care in the world! Now? clean, tidy, dust and hanging a unit up and anything else I'm ordered to do. Oh to be a Yoof again, but in the 80's style not in todays media strewn era. Have fun, tell people you love them, hug them all and importantly Take Care.

Have a Nice Weekend Everyone.

Hi @DJC3

My arm was sore all day yesterday, and I was very much off colour yesterday. I had a different medical appointment yesterday which I managed to drag myself to, but then realised I shouldn’t even have gone out, because I was still feeling very poorly from the shingles injection. Even the nurse looked at me yesterday and said I should have stayed at home.

I have only got out of bed for a coffee. So far I feel okay today thanks. My head was cotton wool yesterday, but it seems lucid and coherent this morning. Arm is just a little sore to move. I just need a day of being kind to me! And that includes being under this electric blanket with cat!

I tried several times yesterday to get on the forum, but either I got a black screen, a very strange redirection to some proxy site which was nothing to do with the forum, or I could get into this thread but nothing was responsive and it wouldn’t let me change pages, or post or do likes etc so I think I must have missed stuff.

So I shall say thank you here for anyone that sent me messages on this yesterday. And thanks for reading. And thanks very much for all the beautiful hugs on my post. I appreciate them all.

Morning All from Dublin. Lovely meal out to fish restaurant last night, though swerved the bread and chose fish and fish with season greens I woke to a 6.5. It wasnt though a stress free day yesterday. For starters I left one of my bags in the taxi to airport but had enough time to get it back. Son met us in his lunch break and dropped us into city for a couple of hours shopping. In Brown Thomas friend had a funny turn and needed to sit down. The store unleashed the Rolls Royce of care. A handsome young lad (first aider) we called him Ronan Keating’s little brother appeared and escorted us to a rest area at the back of Lingerie. A couple of customers heard me say I would go out to a chemist for painkillers and immediately supplied paracetemol. FA supplied the first glass of water, all the assistants regularly asked how she was if she needed anything, got more water, were so friendly and reassuring. It was Wow service.
The former Taoiseach (PM) was at the restaurant and I did wonder about asking him to come and help us out...;)
have a great Friday everyone. Stay well, stay safe.

6.2 this morning which is not bad after my day yesterday. I prefer it when I can deal with peoples stuff over the net, no faffing about. Air fried lamb chops and steak when I got home put the smile back, whilst today will be a 'rinse and repeat' day. Enjoy your day :)
