What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Morning all. I completely forgot to test fbg until I’d been up and dressed, taken Dennis out, had coffee and vacuumed - by then it was 6.5
@PenguinMum good luck today, I’ll be thinking of you.
@Bildad good luck to you too at your docs appointment.we are also off to dog groomers just so Dennis gets used to the place, I’m hoping to book his first puppy groom this weekend.
@Krystyna23040 so glad your dog’s foot is better
@johnpol well done for stable results and avoiding the telling off

Morning all. I woke to a 7.9 this morning which is bloody good for me.
I was a little scared going to bed last night I hit 6.6 (this low carb malarkey seems to be having an affect) Part of me wanted to have a slice of toast, but I decided on getting a care giver to wake me up at 2am to see if I was dropping, but the whole night was nearly a smooth line on my libre, no lower than 6 no higher than 8.
You are having great results. Low carb obviously suits you.

I have to admit I only found this part of the forum because of the post highlighting it doesn’t show in the ‘recent posts’. I like the fact it’s full on chat. It’s amazing the LC because any readings below 10 were an achievement, now I can be in the green for hours on end. (I know readings of 8-9 are not brilliant in the whole scheme of things, but I will take what I can get.)
A very warm welcome to our happy chatty place
It may show in 'new posts'

Hi @PenguinMum
I hit funny cos of the shopping list,
But a proper hug was meant for the worry of wednesday.
Hope whatever it is passes real quick.

(Btw, love how thoughtful you are with every one, )
I must interject. @PenguinMum I agree wholeheartedly with @jjraak you are one of my favourite posters. You always make time for everyone no matter what is going on in your life. You have a big day ahead today and you still make time for others. Good luck today lovely lady. Hope all goes well.

It’s an interesting idea @jjraak, one that I have been mindful of since the enlightening words of;
A, who says you have to eat three meals a day, and
B, who says you have to have a breakfast, a lunch and then a dinner.

I now eat when I am hungry and invariably to what my meter reading is. Seems to work pretty well. Planning and snack pack needed when traveling.

I think of my little dads army inside. I dont like to disturb them too often. They have seen better days. So twice a day if I can and I let them have a nice lie in in the morning, sometimes til gone noon. In my younger years I would not had to worry as in them days I had the SAS on board. I'm happy with how my dads army are coping. I can feel an awards ceremony coming up with medals to be pinned on chests, unless I catch them going AWOL! That will be a different, they will be captured and punished accordingly! With a whole box of chocolates!

6.5
I've been early 5s of late but I'm not surprised with today's scores on the doors. Dinner party last night with 2 ex work colleagues. I took my own cauli rice. Enough for 3 as was requested (lovely if them to join me). Sharing platter included hummus and small biscuits shouting 'eat me' so I obliged. The rest if it was very low carb so not too bad there. Main course was a home made chicken dish but packet mix used so goodness knows what carbs in there. Very nice with the cauli rice though. And tasty as! Dessert cheese board, more crackers! Coffee and cream with hotel chocolate 70%. I had a small bar (bigger than my usual amount). Oh yes and the prosecco was flowing nicely! So a great night all round. Bs reflecting that!

Almost caught up on thread but dashing out to do viewing on my house up for sale. 1st viewer loves it and wants it, seen twice now but has to sell hers. Today's viewer = nothing to sell. You never know your luck.

Looks like The Sun diabetes article (week of) will be in August. I was in touch with interviewer yesterday. She will let me know date asap.

My leaflet has been done! Few things I need to tweak but looking good. A handout to pts who want to try the alternative lchf approach. Happy days.

@PenguinMum good luck today, I’ll be thinking of you - shameless copy and paste from @DJC3 but couldn't be bettered. @Bildad good luck to you at your docs appointment and good news on fbg plus no migraine. @Krystyna23040 glad dog is ok and fbg good. @johnpol good to see you back and nice chat with the prof. @Viv19 is the appliance issue the essential to c21st life IP?
Hugs for all awoken by thunderstorms. We had one but I slept through it - better sleep is another benefit of very narrow diet lately. Meter flashed a message saying you are just as well reading tea leaves mate then showed 4.7 and gave a knowing wink.

6.3 this morning, the KittenCat and I are up before the sun. The sounds of hairball-horking woke me but I wasn't enjoying the dream anyway. And now we are both fed and fine and I am enjoying the return visit to InternetLand.

@PenguinMum I hope everything is going well for you today.
Good morning to you and the KittenCat. Thank you for the information about cherries. I had read about sour cherries being good to counteract/prevent gout but never knew about them being helpful for bg control. Enjoy any cherries you come across and maybe doze off during the day to make up for the early waking.

Well I’m useless if I don’t sleep well, so congrats on your good night’s sleep ianpspurs.
The complicated object is not essential but it irritates to not use it. I bought it - a shuffle ipod 4, mini thing to clip onto my top - a couple of years ago to use at the gym, then discovered that all the music that I’d put on my laptop on iTunes had disappeared. Tried to download again with an external CD player, and managed to fry the laptop with a power overload. This year I remembered that my friend is very clever with this stuff AND I knew that she has loads of assorted music on her laptop. Now I’m trying to see how to make it pair with the earphones.
Reason for all this is I hate the music at the gym!!!!

good afternoon all :)

4.6 today

threw it down with rain overnight but it's back up to 25'C outside already, I'm so thankful I don't weigh so much now :D
mr gee finds it difficult to sleep when it's so warm though :(

We thought we might go and cut some grass over at mum's today but perhaps might wait until the evening because it's so warm ;)

Hope your day treats you well :)

Thank you EVERYONE for all your good wishes this morning. All went well met some lovely people in the waiting room and was home by 9.30am. It doesnt feel as sore as last time but because I wear an eye patch until tomo morning I cant see very well. So hanging out on the sofa with the cats ,fan going, TV on to listen to, so as relaxed as can be. I so hope you are all coping with the heat and staying hydrated. Bless you all for your lovely support.

Amazon music? Spotify or other such services? The sleeping has taken years of work since starting LC eating. Research suggests that is common. Not unusual to be up @3.00 and in gym by 4.00. Really wracked my brains to get to this point - another huge minus for LC in my case but plenty others say they sleep better so I must be an outlier.
