What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

@gennepher well done! I have always loved star gazing and yes lying down really helps. When abroad, warmth and no light pollution, I love to lie out on sun loungers into the dark hours after midnight just watching and listening, there are always so many shooting stars and a 3 dimensional layer of stars, magical.
Thank you @Muddy Cyclist
I love stargazing. It is another dimension.

I made a mess of that reply, see if I can correct it here!

Thank you @Muddy Cyclist
I love watching the night sky.
It is another world completely!

we visited Fellbrigg Hall in June when visiting Norfolk which was a very enjoyable visit on a much different day weatherwise, sun and warmth, a lovely old house and grounds.
Sun and warmth would have been lovely yesterday. We stayed mostly on the woodland walks - which were quite sheltered. I do love this time of year for walks in the countryside - not quite so keen on January.

6.2 this morning and my reason for getting up early just texted to say they can't make it. Oh well, I'm up now so may as well get ready and go for a walk :)

Really impressed with that photo, I've never been able to take a picture of the stars on my phone.

Thank you @OldButBold

I will be trying some more night sky shots soon!

I am amazed the phone camera did so well, and I was hand holding it while it took a few seconds to take the shot.

Enjoy your walk!

Back in the fives this morning at 5.7. Dinner all packed up for lunch today. Luckily there is a microwave so will be able to heat up the slow cooked brisket and stir fry of asparagus, cabbage and mushrooms for dinner. Must remember to pack a square of 100% chocolate to have with my coffee afterwards.

Morning all. A pleasing 5.1 for me, a relief after OMAD. Yesterday.
@gennepher I’m really impressed with your photo. I’d no idea phone cameras were so advanced. I agree that star gazing is wonderful - I have wrapped myself in a duvet and lay on a sun lounger before. Last night daughter saw a shooting star so was very excited.
@trick60 I feel for you and your granddaughter. My niece is going through the same and it’s heart breaking. So much harder for them than it was in my day, there seems so much more pressure on them.
@ianpspurs are you really going to resist visiting the omelette chef? Why?

Morning All. 6.7 at 0700 which is likely to be the many spoons of peanut butter before bed after eating supper before 6pm. Today will have to be frugal carbwise!
@ianpspurs your hotel sounds amazing and I am glad you are enjoying it. @trick60 sorry your GD still struggling to settle, just keep supporting is all you can do and if it gets too much there is always the Open University. My son with the most successful career did the OU while still working part time so it can be done. My other son went away to Uni but took a very long time to settle.@gennepher lovely photo of the night sky but I am thinking you must have got very cold, clever Popeye!
Have a good Monday all. Stay well, stay safe.

Morning all hugs to all who need it and a massive well done to everyone else. Friday I had a drive down to Settle in North Yorkshire for a Ash Die back awareness course, it was ok but the drive was not very good too wet and not pleasant. The meter of doom has been a bit subdued lately as it hasn't wanted to go above 6 all weekend, so it has sat in its own nastiness and is plotting its next move, a 5.8 was thrown at me this morning so its still seething about that. A weekend full of hanging roman blinds, complete with Latin expletives! due to various grazed knuckles and poor judgement!! Have a good Monday everyone.

It will be good for you to leave the house probs but hope you get home early to light the fire and get cosy. Great FBGs all the way through :)

Fbg 6.7

I have been outside the last hour and a half in the cold and dark, drinking tea from my Crazy Cat Lady mug, trying to see the Leonids.

Because my new android camera phone has night sight I experimented to see if it would take photos of stars (I think night sight is really meant for low light conditions, not pretty near pitch black).

I have light pollution both sides from neighbours security lights. But I managed to identify several star constellations, a half bright moon which is interfering with seeing the Leonids (Leo is to the right of the moon), several aeroplanes blinking their way across the sky, one satellite, and one shooting star!

I also managed to take a photo of the Big Dipper despite the light pollution of security lights and the bright moon.

I am now back in bed with another cuppa trying to warm my posterior...

Cat thinks I am crazy going outside at night. He actually looked shocked at me and scooted back inside. A good job he did or I might have tripped over him in the dark. They do say if you lie on the ground you can see the night sky better. But I would never have been able to get back up again...

Nice picture - will you be called queen of the night Cassiopeia?

Hope today goes well and you get home early and back in the warm. Thermal everything sounds good and you will stay warm and cosy - hopefully the coat does zip up.

@DJC3 glad the OMAD worked and the West Country world is wearing a smile. Omelettes and champagne for breakfast comes maybe Weds and Thurs as I am just exhausting my taste for smoked salmon at breakfast atm. Omelette chef is impossible to miss - brightens up very large breakfast hall. @PenguinMum thank you. Julie claims back massage yesterday worked wonders for her back - why has uk physio never mentioned/offered this? Personal trainer was really useful for me this morning as well - sore in places I didn't know I had but technique lessons will save injuries - so much better than uk gyms that just let you get on with it.

Good morning everyone from another day in the dark and dangerous north.

The wonder wheel of a fairly lazy Sunday after a good walk along the coast issued a whisper of a 4.8 this am

A bit of sixes and sevens today: Our daughter went into labour last night. No idea what it will be but after her spectacular representation of the film “Alien” on Friday they are hoping for a boy or a girl (they chose not to know).

MIL is moving into a fully supported apartment today also - a six week trial to see if she takes to it. One of those places with meeting rooms, a cafe, hairdressers, medical facilities and yet your own apartment - hopefully she will take to it as she is getting to the stage where she requires more assistance.

Have a wonderful day if you can, best make a koffy while I still can.
