What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Good morning everyone from a bright, sunny start and the songs of birds in the dark and dangerous north.

The wonder wheel of roasted cauliflower, fennel and onion came in at 5.3 this am - a bit carby - roasted lamb breast tonight.

We, our family that is, were supposed to be walking up Snowden today until somebody complained about having a poorly nose and it all got cancelled. Anyhow, our family weekend quiz will still go ahead curtesy of the programmes zoom and Kahoot.

Still no yeast in the shops round here and the delivery time (and extortionate prices) on amazon are quite long. However, I have managed to order some from an Etsy seller and also having a go at making some myself.

I hope that you all have a wonderful day, I shall be mostly sitting in the garden busily making vitamin D. Firstly, koffy.

Like the end pic, very touching.
such a shame you couldn't all make the journey, but there will be other days, as i am sure you know.

Hope the day treats you & your family well :)

The painting of Alderley Edge triggered dreams of days gone by and sitting under full moons with the Knutsford Wiccans, happy days :)

@jjraak if you liked the Ted talk you'll enjoy this. I had the pleasure of working on and contributing to the subject with this guy. The subject is anything but simple and is one of my passions, one I've been involved in for thirty years putting a psychology degree to good use. Enjoy

Because I have a personal investment I will include this, you can scroll past if you wish :)

will have a look today..got a bit on.
cheers for thinking of me and posting..much obliged.

Nothing from mine and they are 'A centre of excellence' their words not mine.

I was however impressed with my visit the other day with my ear.

What I do get after a visit is Rate Us Texts which do annoy me.

hahaha..yeah self promotion is it really worth anything..:D

So cheers @Ryhia , @gennepher , @ianpspurs @dunelm

rather odd that mine does then.

support does seem very haphazard, at best.:sorry:

Just concluding the reality theme...

Or do they? Are you really there? Keats says “I am certain of nothing but of the holiness of the Heart's affections and the truth of Imagination– What the imagination seizes as Beauty must be truth” For the artists on here?
https://www.businessballs.com/self-awareness/johari-window-model-and-free-diagrams/ (Am I really like that?) and https://plato.stanford.edu/entries/phenomenology/ - gentle lockdown reading? Spoiler alert. I'm pretty sure it means I like avocados and Julie doesn't/ conscious experiences are all a big Rosach ink blot - how was it for you?

Ah, "Beauty is truth, truth is beauty" the great romantics. This was a phrase favoured by my art master, barely a day went by without him quoting it.

Forgive my ignorance alf

i do look at others numbers, and always (i know ) assume for those more challenged the lows are the 4's.
i see @johnpol , and @karen8967 , have the highs and the lows, so i know it's not all plain sailing for many

But now i know better...i gave a hug for the 5.0,
normally something i like to cheer, but won't do that on this occasion.

hope the day stays level bg wise for your endeavours..

and the news..yeah.
i'm just one of those that wants to know everything about something that affects me.
i hope the differing viewpoint doesn't take away the parts where we do agree.

have a good un.:)

Thanks for your kind thoughts, yep most relish a level of 5, but with my medications it spells trouble.

Agree and disagree all part of life's rich pattern, long may it continue.

Some on here are having a tough time @dunelm this weekend family rememberances having to be cancelled, to name but one. We motorcyclists must stick together.

Good afternoon all. My fbs this morning was 8.0. It doesn't go much lower than that whatever I do. We have several birthdays this month. Fortunately, I had already purchased the gifts and cards before the lock down. I will be wrapping and writing them this weekend but the birthdays are all over two weeks away. I can ring ahead then leave them on people's doorsteps to ensure safe distancing. The longest distance would be 7 miles and they could all be done in one journey but I'm unsure if it will be classed as essential travel? So far I haven't been further than my garden so it would be quite an outing for me! Enjoy your weekend everyone and stay safe, well and as happy as you can. :)

good evening all :)

was 4.1 this morning

after a dull start it's been a lovely sunny afternoon here and so we spent our exercise time in the garden ;)

had an interesting conversation at a distance with our neighbour about making masks, she is making the oblong pleated type but is putting an opened out paperclip in the top edge to allow for shaping over the nose :) I've made the shaped kind so far but might try making one of those pleated ones out of interest.

Hope your day is treating you well :)

@gennepher - another lovely cloudscape today, I tried doing a cloudy sunset the other day and it was abominable :hilarious: but I can only get better and the practice won't do me any harm ;)

@Muddy Cyclist - we have a few buildings around our area built of red sandstone from a now abandoned small quarry, it's a lovely warm colour which your picture reminds me of.
I particularly like the way you've achieved the water flowing over the fall in this picture :)

Today's art catch up -
this is the nearest thing to 'plein air' I've done so far, it's a small group of pine trees next to a house nearby painted in the 'White Nights'

Thank you very much for the compliment. @geefull

Yes you will get better with clouds. Sunsets and clouds are not easy.

That is a beautiful sketch of the pine trees by the house. You can see it being next door...
