Yesterday MrSlim painted the ceiling in the salon. He has some specialist paint eeffect he wanted to use, but eventually agreed it looked too dark and will be painting over it and reconsidering. Meanwhile we have agreed on the colour for one wall, have knocked up several samples for the others. Again the purchased colour was too dark. And unfortunately the granite hearth also has a colour issue. One of the slabs is a different shade, so we are experimenting and attempting to make it match. Tea bags are being deployed. It must be very disappointing for MrSlim who has spent two days cutting the granite to fit and refurbishing the new to us wood burner.
I got rained off while attempting to cut the grass, so am hoping for better weather today.
Errant has had a very croaky and quiet meow for several days now, I have been turning out cupboards looking for his antibiotics, one last ditch attempt today will try the Motorhome, if not found MrSlim agrees he had better have a trip to the vet. He is still eating molehills, but otherwise no obvious signs of ill health.

Hugs for all the issues here @SlimLizzy
Frustrating with the paint problems, but you will sort that in the end...
Hope Errant recovers from his lurgy (whatever it is) quickly.

My creative artwork this morning.
A lot of my photos on here are taken from my bed. This one is no exception. The first photo is exactly how this looks from my bed once it gets daylight. It is the army camouflage on my thatched swing. Can you see the face that I see? You might have to half squint your eyes to see it.
In second photo, I have tried to accentuate the face bit in Snapseed, to try to make it easier to see.
That face has been there every morning for a couple of weeks now...

But here is the same photo put through Snapseed to try and accentuate the face to make it easier to see but not sure if I succeeded...

Hi gennepher
I can see all sorts of stuff if I keep looking, some quite ghoulish!
There seems to be the head of a female lion poking its head through at the bottom of the highlited section? :)

Nice to see blue skies between the fluffy clouds in a drier Cumbria this am.

Taking the duchess to the local shops but not going in.
D.

5.6 this morning. Mr K filled up my car with petrol at 6am this morning. Only a tiny queue been he got there but it massive queue by the time he filled up. What a relief - I have enough petrol for a week of classes.

We have decided to stay local this Sunday to save fuel.

Yes, I can see something like that as well @lindisfel , only looking at the camouflage directly from my bed just now, I see a grinning Cheshire Cat!

Enjoy your sitting in the car shopping trip!

Good morning all this Feast of St Michael and All Angels unless you are a traditionalist and observe it on October 11th. Oddly, the later date would suit modern harvests - hardly spud lifting time yet and most sugar beet still in the ground. Oh, no picking blackberries after whichever Michaelmas you celebrate. Traditional Michaelmas fair held in the centre of St Ives Cambs was a big event historically - will be held again this year starting October 11th. Goose was the food of choice if possible. We wait until Martinmas - often coincides with Remembrance Sunday - as Lidl have spiffing frozen geese by then. Anyhow, Swipey continues its course of random numbers and messages - sensor unavailable is a regular- 5.9 was an initial jocular effort. Arf, arf , guffaw, belly laugh, chortle, wheeze. Most creative @gennepher but I can't claim to see a face. Hug for the painting issues @SlimLizzy. My taste for back to brick or white solves much of those problems - except the arbiter of taste claims one needs colour. I've said enough, just wear yer stays.

Good morning everyone from a fairly clear yet breezy start here in the dark and dangerous north
The wonder wheel of Heck sausages and a sort of colcannon with cauliflower and spinach came in at 5.3 this am

Smashing breakfast with eldest granddaughter yesterday, the youngest one (girl in the bubble) tagged along also - at 22 months she is not to be trusted on her own - give it another 4 years though and she will be complaining that she is entirely grown up.
I have been informed by Mrs Miggins that we are dining out tonight for a ‘proper’ celebratory meal. What was wrong with eggs Benedict sans muffin?
Wrong bin crept out under cover of darkness - I am sure that I heard a voice saying, “wonder why the recycling bin is so empty?” just before we went to bed but thought it was just the wind. Rectified this morning.
I have been advertising six toilet rolls and a doctors appointment in exchange for two gallons of diesel on a local site - so many takers! Mrs Miggins filled the car last Thursday and we probably have enough for at least another week as long as she doesn’t decide to take a road trip to a big town.

Art bit today, several shades of grey and back to black. Hope you all have a pleasant Mittwoch, time now for a koffy.

Ah, the geese are flying towards Lidl - must be due to climate change or faulty navigational equipment - I have put goose on the list for October. Just remembered that we have two tins of Confit de Cannard in the larder - best we dig them out and use them up. White walls - that would be my parents’ house in France - white walls and stone floors with one of those robotic vacuum cleaners wandering about.

Confit de Cannard and parents house sound about perfect to me. Your previous post and several others weren't there when I first posted then as if by Wooster's magic they appeared. Still a day early for bin day y'all. Enjoy the proper meal and thanks for the art as per.

I am loving this mono painting. It is very effective @dunelm

Someone near me was offering a dozen toilet rolls for a gallon of diesel....

Creative stuff for today.
The same photo as yesterday, but I played with it in Procreate to try and get a Cubist painting effect. I don't think I succeeded, but I had some relaxing fun! If you could just see the face yesterday, then it is actually still there on today's picture. This looks a bit more like a harlequin effect...

That face which had been on the camouflage netting, has now gone. We had a bit of a downpour yesterday, and that shifted the camouflage netting. I went to collect my meds yesterday (because the worst downpour was to be today and so I thought I would collect my meds whilst it was safer). But, as I turned a corner at the bottom of my steep hill, there was this poor bungalow that had this torrent of water running through it, the back garden and bungalow. And the road was flooded badly. So a bit of careful driving, and I got safely to collect my meds...

And today's rain is supposed to be much worse...
