What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

What fun. Small opportunities for a bit of jollity should always be embraced
Yes, it was fun. My favourite one was a caller enquiring if I had been involved in an accident. I said that I had but had to go up into the loft and find the paperwork.

Hilary was there at the time and we were both laughing when Mr K walked in. When I told him why, he unmuted the phone and the caller told him that 'the lady had gone into the loft to get the paperwork'. Mr K explained that 'the lady should not have answered the phone as this was The Home for the Bewildered '. The caller apologised and said that he would take us off the list.

Both Hilary and I were laughing hysterically as this was so true as we had been puzzling over the accounts at the time.

13.1 this morning at 4.25. Not good, but at least Neil is recovering fast - apart from his volice - it's coming out as a deep croak. But he's out checking the car over at the moment. I'm still a bit breathless but feeling OK other than my left leg which is still being difficult after overworking it on Tuesday. It'll recover in time, so no worries. Just having another cup of tea before rushing around to clear the floors - my cleaner said she would come this morning.

Fbg 6.5

I came back home exhausted yesterday and crashed out until late evening. I am late this morning and my sleep is out of kilter.

Midnight is on the ground watching Foxy Loxy.
Foxy Loxy is not coming out from the bush until cat, Midnight, has gone.
He keeps peering out anxiously...

Creative is an autumnal landscape in Procreate.

I need some more sleep before I start the day, and Midnight concurs. He is already heavily sleeping on top of my legs...

More tea from my flask...

Have the best day you are able to.

Take care...

Good that Neil is recovering fast and that you are feeling reasonably OK after overdoing things yesterday.

Good morning All

Day before my second son's birthday and I still have not got my head round the French postal system.
My mother is recovering slowly from her fall, grandsons appointment with the specialist has been put back, we are all taking this as a sign there is nothing terribly wrong. MrSlim is working too hard in the garden. He has several projects in mind and is trying to get them all finished before the weather changes. Today he is moving stones and building a herb bed. Have been helping but am expected at a coffee morning today, plan is to stop for an hour only. Kiki had her medicine, she didn't like the smell and is a little out of sorts this morning. Esp as she is not allowed out to 'help' MrSlim. She thoroughly enjoyed exploring the new structure each time it changed and charged around the house excitedly when we collected stones from the pile at the front of the house and transferred them to the site of new herb bed round the back. Totally exhausted by the end of the day. Have made her an appointment for her second set of jabs by phone this morning. Very pleased with myself as I managed the whole conversation (admittedly brief) in French. Maybe I will be able to grab enough courage to make a dental appointment for myself soon.
Hugs for all the things going on out of reach across the Channel from you @SlimLizzy
You are doing well with your French.

Good morning all from the wonderfully blue skied Brecks where we are promised 20 degrees C for 3 days then 19 for the next two. Rishi has made things better already. I'm not sure how they spin integrity with Suella making a comeback but they are trying, very trying indeed. @dunelm thanks for the art and enjoy the rest of the back pain course which sounds as though it covered most angles. @gennepher thanks for the video and creative. @SlimLizzy good news on your French being good enough for the vet. As you say, your grandson's appointment not being urgent sounds hopeful. @alf_Josiah enjoy the coffee shop experience. Interesting week here. No 3 son and granddaughter escaped injury - or worse - on Monday evening when a van hit the car door just after he took her from the car. She was still in his arms and the car is likely a write off. Man in the van drove off but the police and insurance have been informed and son has pictures of both the driver and van. Last night JKP felt poorly so went to bed early. I isolated myself in another bedroom and this morning she has tested positive. Bearing in mind my treatment and elevated risk squeaky bum time BUT if my faith means anything now is the time for trust in God. I am allowed free NHS tests and treatment which I'm taking as a sign of His help. Tomorrow will be our 38th wedding anniversary but any celebrations apart from exchanging the cards and presents we have will obviously be on hold. No hugs needed but prayers are welcome. Stay safe and think of others.
Thank you Ian.
That was some scare for son, granddaughter, and you.
That is unfortunate JKP testing positive for Covid.
Trust that He will help and guide you in the best possible way, even though there may feel uncertainty @ianpspurs

Good morning everyone on the last day of the back pain course which I have found extremely useful. Repeats of day one base line exercises today and one to one feedback sessions. Some good take home strategies to incorporate into daily life - just have to remember to actually carry them out. Art bit - another quick sketch - must pack away my things and put into the car. Koffy first, have a wonderful day as much as you can.

A brilliant quick sketch @dunelm
Enjoy your last day.

Absolutely brilliant @Krystyna23040

Good late national bin day Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and all who worship at the feet of the oversleeping god. Waking at 6:00am then falling back asleep and not waking till well gone 8:00am, such a waste of a morning.
.
Blood sugars this morning were 5.4 a number divisible by 2 and 3, therefore not a prime number. More useless information.
.
Here in Tilehurst Towers we are preparing for a busy few days, hopefully with much hilarity and naughtiness, Mrs J bless her cotton fangs has purchased fodder, some diabetic friendly and some not and later today will be cooking and freezing meals. Mrs J will also be practicing her her second fluent language, swearing as me, me’s and myself make husbandly suggestions.
.
Now I must depart and get on with my abnormal life which will probably involve receiving black looks, shaking of heads and tutting.
Congratulations to those suffering anniversaries and hugs to those under the weather.
Whoops Mrs J is talking at me, shame listening mode is not engaged.
Stay safe all.

Second son's birthday and the anniversary of Errants death. Kiki is a delight (except when she misses the litter tray) but can never replace him.
Didn't make it to the coffee morning yesterday. On tuesday MrSlim and I went to get new passport photos taken. After first attempt the machine announced that my pictures did not conform to the standard required. Neither of us could work out why. Two more attempts allowed. Slight variations but still deemed unacceptable. MrSlim is going to apply with one of them anyway...

Today I resolve yet again to finish the bed curtains started over a month ago. Probably needs thirty mins on the sewing machine, but there is always something else more urgent, satisfying, or outside that gets priority. (Kiki needs hours of laptime still. She is very demanding and persistent- repeatedly climbing up my legs, ouch sharp claws, until I do give in and cuddle her ) Still we have completed three improvements outside in about ten days. I say we, but MrSlim did most of the work really. All these projects involved moving rocks and stones so very heavy work. The new stone path to the woodshed will make life less messy when the winter rains start. Kiki loves it - she really dislikes wet grass under her paws and the woodshed is her adventure playground. MrSlim estimates the stones we moved yesterday to build the new cheese shaped herb bed at about four tonnes.

Thanks @alf_Josiah. I have both the protocols for that and a little card I must always carry informing medics I am a chemo patient at risk of Neutropenic Sepsis with an emergency helpline if I develop 3 fairly common symptoms most obvious being temp >38C. Take care and thanks again for the offer of information.
When Marjorie went to local Lidl and Coop yesterday she was the only one wearing a mask.
No one wears a mask in local chemists it's not surprising COVID is spreading.
Only at the doctor's one wears a mask but all you get now is a nurse practitioner.

Where have all the doctor's gone?
A lot have retired and the conservative government wouldn't pay for training more.
My eldest is 60 next September and could retire.

Today Spot on for Kiki. Vet supplieded, perhaps more effective than shop bought? This is second dose to hopefully eradicate the skin parasites causing her irritation and fur loss on one ear. Side effect is confinement to kitchen and downstairs shower room as these parasites can get into soft furnishing and then reinfect. Kiki has only had one visit to the salon and that time she slept on my lap so we think there is little risk of reinfection, but taking no chances.

At what point is blood glucose too low? Although with DP running rampant at the moment is not really a worry. After 30 mins had risen to 5 5.
Another query, feel a bit stupid asking but have only found "like" icon. Where are the others?
Good morning@SlimLizzy. If you hover your curser over the "like" the other icons appear. Best wishes.:)

Good morning from a rainy Breckland. That wasn't supposed to happen but there does seem to be a common thread weaving its way through family P just now. 38 years ago it was a beautifully sunny day, at least in Cambs. We have the pictures and DVD for evidence. Far too many of the guests now rejoice on a another shore and in a greater light.Thank you so much for the concern shown for JKP, my son and granddaughter. This is such a supportive thread which shows the better angels of our nature in this demented era. @SlimLizzy our son was shaken up but we looked after the little one next day who was fine but kept saying daddy's car is broken. Happy birthday to your son. @Jojo85 good to see you back and the 6s will be fine. @dunelm thank you for the art and good wishes for our anniversary. That course sounds as though it has been helpful. @Krystyna23040 great story of both phone calls but hug for Archie today. @Annb good news on Neil recovering and I hope the leg recovers as quickly. @gennepher thank you for the wonderful autumnal art ( in the style of the Fauve's in my addled mind but art experts will know better) and the kindness in your post. Take care of yourselves.
