What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Good morning everyone on what was a very quiet start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north until Mrs Miggins and the girl in the bubble decided to wake up and make demands. I have already provided a bowl of Weetabix and a mug of tea. I expect that a walk into town will be on the cards so it will be fun getting blown about in the wind. Other than that, we have relatives coming over for dinner and a catch up. Art bit, the snake bridge is now finished so best find something else to do. Have a smashing day if one passes your way. I shall attempt to finish my koffy before more jobs are thought up.

Enjoy the windy walks @dunelm

A brilliant finish for the snake bridge...

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and to all those who wonder what fate will throw at them today, now a bit of advice, I would like to say sage, but one or more of you you will get all herby. Advice oh never mind….

Blood sugars this morning were a straight 5, yep a prime number oh whoopy :)

Now a dilemma, time is passing and I have just finished my breakfast and need to take my pills, the pills are in the bedroom where Mrs J is sleeping, if I take my pills I will wake her and my peaceful solitude will end. It’s only 9:27am far to early for full instructions from Mrs J, oh woe is me, not really Mrs J can sleep on. I shall take my pills later and drink koffy instead.

Notice another royal free posting, it is possible.

Stay safe, stay well and run, stagger, hobble or just catch the local bus to the hills

8.45am FBG 6.1
Breakfast at about 9am homemade fish cakes - potato based and featuring the last of the smoked salmon with a dollop of tartare sauce. Cup of coffee with semi skimmed milk. Fish cakes overnight in fridge so should be some resistant starch.
But...
10.15am BG 4.8 how is this possible?
Was expecting a high number.
Anyone have explanation? Ideas?
Answers?

Edited to add:
11.25am BG 5.4
I have not been eating breakfast for a few weeks now, but these results make it look as if I might need some carbs early in the day. Although the FBG was a little higher than usual this morning. Its usually somewhere in the 5s.

Good morning everyone from a very bright, dry and calm Eastern Oddity. @dunelm thanks for sharing the finished artwork: so much darker and more brooding than I Imagined but still obviously a product of your gifts. Enjoy a windy walk then the meal and catch up. @lindisfel we liked Brandon Country Park but we went in high summer with grandchildren when it was bustling with families. A mini Christmas dinner - turkey again - here today with No 3 son and Nan London who is now here full time having accepted an offer for her bungalow. Have yourselves a Merry Little Sunday if at all possible. Personally, I wouldn't engage your rational brain too much just now - that way madness lies.

Sorry not a clue, but take your blood sugars again and if over 5 it will be ok to drive in GB at least.

Don't forget those pills @alf_Josiah
I nearly always forget until nightfall if I leave taking the morning pills for a bit.
Perhaps your memory is better than mine?

I hadnt taken on board the need for appropriate BG before driving - but it is rare for me to fall into the 4s - so I am not going to add another thing to worry about to the already far too extensive list.

Creative is a digital painting in ZenBrush3.
Trying it a bit differently today...
It has got possibilities...

The sparrows are making a heck of a racket outside.

And it is very windy, and is pelting down rain non-stop...

There is a male sparrow singing his heart out. He is looking directly at me...

I did get some new fatball bird feeders. The old ones (only 2 months old) broke...

Time for a cuppa...

And I think a nap is on the cards...I have been awake since 3:55 am...it is now 10:41 am...

This may help ease the worries more especially the attached. I've no idea what pertains in France though.

No idea really. When I was playing with those Libra discs I could see that blood sugars changed like blood pressure readings - after all, they are just a snapshot.

Wonderfully spooky and a bit of Cheshire Cat. We had four pairs of blackbirds in the garden yesterday. I think that they were having a turf war.

Hug for the racket. windy and wet weather and broken fatball feeders. Winner for the bright, optimistic creative and sparrow song. I'm probably too influenced by watching this last evening - helped me stay in the same room while JKP and NL watched Call the Midwife :arghh:. I also grappled with original participation - Owen Barfiled -. but the whole post and creative is very Darkling Thrush (ish). Two little Epiphanies in this dark December like period of sado-moneterism MK ii - thanks William Keegan. You and your wildlife have a great day - you seem to have instinctively gotten Barfield's idea off pat.

So my ebike that has been known to reach 45mph on a sheepish downhill would be illegal in UK where I bought it?
8.45am FBG 6.1
Whoa...nice speeds...

Yes, annoyingly ...like e-scooters, shops can and legally sell products illegal to either ride on road or pavement.
(Police can and do confiscate & fine riders....oddly enough police sell recovered scooters that are damaged at auctions ..highly strange )

IF that is just downhill with you pedalling or freewheeling like crazy..maybe not.

But it that's with the motor adding ANY input beyond 15 mph, then it is.....

Illegal in UK... definitely
And in France too
With BIG fines..so be careful.

Sure you know, but bikes should be labelled for ease of checking by authorities I guess

Here's mine middle of rear wheel...(excuse muddy splashes)

Fantastic @dunelm! Getting to love that bridge. Never having lived in canal country I hadn't realised how that kind of bridge worked. Your artwork is not only amazing, but educational too.

I better get my meter out in case I drive in to Carlisle in am when Marjorie drives back.
Very low food intake today.
B.G. peaked after lunch at 8.0. that was from clear soup from cooking veg and a portion of ice cream.

Great picture. Is that Midnight, disguising himself on that tree branch?

A long time since I watched someone puffing a pipe @ianpspurs
I would prefer the smell of matches to relight it, not the smell, of zippo fuel...while he was talking...

Thanks for the painting compliment.
