What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

No problem Lamont I wouldn't fight over singers, I just enjoy what appeals to me and all our taste are different. I like country and folk and some of the early rock and roll, and classical.
Don't like Jazz.
D.
Not into jazz myself, find the thing annoying, with wrong notes and solos. And so on. It is not organised.

6.8 (again) cold is not going away, full of aches and pains every part of my body(ish)!
Been up and down the stairs repetively this morning, she couldn't settle overnight. And needing a lot of things, before getting some rest.
Docs yesterday, seeing a few people next Tuesday, including mental, bloods, nurse, doc again. And more tests. Still needs a lot more and counselling. I was run ragged and mentally tired last evening due to the misrememberitis, of the wife, and was under pressure to help her understand what was happening. And again this morning.
I have counselling myself this afternoon, gonna offload, as I'm feeling a bit low.
Cloudy with the prospect of heavy rain again imminent, no warmth, no sun, no real garden time!
That is it for today, hope you are feeling better than I am!

My best wishes.

A wet day in prospect today. The better half is going into town and then catch the 9 am bus to Tai Chi in Carlisle, then back home for lunch.
I have some paper work to do. The trip will help her mixing with others. She saw her doctor the other day who was surprised at 81 she had no regular meds prescribed.

Not so with me the last 35 years I have had an increasing cocktail of diverse drugs, so much so I can't drink much more than tap water when I go to a pub and do you know I don't miss alcohol.
Have great day all of you.
Derek
It's been since Christmas eve 2007, I had a pint of bitter, with my colleagues, after work. Made me ill, due to the RH, didn't know it then! Don't miss it, not the pub, last time in a pub was for a funeral for one of the same colleagues!
A bottled diet coke/pepsi. Don't trust siphoned cola from pubs. Not since I discovered that it is a syrup concoction.

Morning all from a dry and warm enough to retain the C21st summer togs for old gits kit, leave doors open and cut what in estate agent argot are called the lawned areas. Titter ye not. A handful of hugs to give out today along with 2 star of the day awards - although you're all stars. Hug for the timing of the course, potential cost and inconvenience of car repairs @Annb. Hug for the care duties and their impact on stress levels @Lamont D. Star of the day awards for @lindisfel thinking of Marjorie and braving the rain to help her and to you @Lamont D for showing such love and care. @dunelm thanks for sharing the progress of the art. @Krystyna23040 perhaps someone could update/reword Peter Sarstedt's classic to I'll have one more skinny latte with Ceylon cinnamon (other en flique drinks are available except iced green tea in Starbucks Ely yesterday ) - enjoy your version and do consider replacing that diary secretary. HM guac, (Food Fairy) kimchi (bought) and blue cheese (W and R) at lunch for the gut microbiome - link well behind the times - mucho sodium though. Still feel happier with food than this. Who knew what red wine could do - in moderation?. Until Ai proves conclusively that it doesn't. If Van Tulleken's definition of UPF holds apples and almost all "natural" foods are to be avoided. You may wish to reconsider fella. If today gives y'all lemons make keto lemonade.

Pa Badger & The Swing

Creative is an ink painting I did, and worked through Procreate for the final detail.

Time for a nap and a cup of tea.

Make the best of your day.

Thanks for sharing both of those @gennepher. The creative is A-MAZ-ING. Pa badger has some seriously powerful glutes and if baby badgers inherit those there may be trouble ahead.

I've only skimmed his book at present but it didn't seem to me that he was suggesting avoiding apples along with other natural foods. He was suggesting that whole apples were better than pureed or juiced apples. Have I missed something?

Can you get some respite to help you keep yourself feeling better?
Best wishes with your talking therapy.

What I was getting at was him saying on TV last evening that a long list of "ingredients" as per Spector's book, many of which aren't in our cupboards, and often being in a cellophane pack would usually make them UPF.. Oversimplified for the tv programme I guess/hope.

Ah right. I didn't see that programme. I was feeling too ill and went to bed. BG is still dropping today, despite only a tiny amount of insulin as a correction dose (because it was climbing too fast after breakfast) but now it's on its way down again so I'm having to eat peanut butter sandwiches to steady it. Don't suppose peanut butter would be approved either but we have to draw the line somewhere.

Peanut butter is very trendy and gut microbiome friendly - ask @Krystyna23040 :D I buy mine in 1kg tubs

Hope you enjoy the sandwich and it has the desired effect.

I'm the guy on the right I had a 650cc Matchless, the bike on the left is a 650 BSA super rocket. I was 20 and that summer I wrote it off hitting a gypsy lorry on way back from the south coast at Kettering.
D
Were you injured? Shame about the bike but thanks be to God you survived.

Thanks Derek, I'm trying! That is why it's a big day next Tuesday, when she has her mental assessment by a specialist.
my counsellor was very good and it has made me realise that I can use certain tools or methods to keep from getting too frustrated and angry. Chilling flicking between darts and cricket.
The North end of our peninsula has been transformed into a no go zone! The residents have left for better climes! Even the trains have stopped short of the area, and bus routes have been altered.
Just because, some guys want to win a jug
Well they got wet practicing today! It never stopped from mid morning to just about half an hour ago! Another drenching! Enough is enough!
Thanks @lindisfel for asking and caring.
Thanks @ianpspurs for my award!
Didn't realise there was any gongs going!
I am so jealous of the drawings and badgers!
Looking forward to see my son, Thursday, as he returns from North Africa.
And the kids are finishing school!
bless you all!

Dementia is devastating. We were lucky, in a way, I suppose. My father had a stroke before his dementia got too bad, although being forgotten by a loved one can be painful but not actually very hard work. He had a further stroke while still in hospital from the first and he died there. At least there was no prolonged period of attrition of the dementia for him to suffer. My husband had dementia because of Lewey Bodies - part of his Parkinsons. It went on for much longer but he was never really aware of it and so was not distressed by it. Distressing for all of us, but it was a comfort to know that he was not suffering.

With your wife still being able to be somewhat active, it must be difficult for you to cope, with a constant worry about her. It is important to remember yourself in all this. For both your sakes. There is no point in destroying your own health in order to take care of the one you love. Can you manage to get her into some kind of respite care? It might not make much difference to her but it might make a huge difference to you to get some rest.

Praying for both of you.

Hi Ian, It's a long time ago and I had my friend's brother on the pillion. My friend had a puncture in his bike and kept stopping to pump up his tyre and then we rushed on until his tyre went too low.

Ahead was a lorry on the right hand side of the road facing away from me, I looked back for the other bike and when I looked forward again I saw the lorry going into a farm road on my side of the road at a tight angle.
I could not get round the front of the lorry and hit the lorry banking hard to the left and went under it at its cab. My pillion went right under but crawled out from under the front two wheels. I smashed my mark 7 goggles on my face. My nose was flat to my face and I had two black eyes from September to Christmas. Nothing serious but my broken right hand kept me off work some time. My pillion ground the inside of his ear out when his crash hat was damaged, he apparently broke his ribs as he transited under me.
We were very very fortunate as we had a high velocity impact.
The Gypsy driver panicked and said he wanted his mother who was nearby.
I made some choice words about getting an ambulance.
The casualty doctor made a good job of putting my nose back. It didn't go far enough the first time and he had a second push with his two thumbs after checking on my nose line up..

Mum let Marjorie know at work in Lincoln and she had an hyperventilation problem. I think the duchess steadied me up so I wasn't so wild in future.

Smashing bikes especially for a 20 year old. I had a second hand BSA Bantam and thought that I was lucky.
