What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Fasting BG 7.2mmols.....
Why?.....
I've not ate anything to push it up!........ Not *****!.......... Sorry people!....
Just got in about an hour ago..... Doctors for another hour,..........then shops and bacon and egg...
Went for a visit to her sister....... Her sister couldn't believe the change!
She is going for a complete body and brain scan...... Doctors have seen something that may be a possibility of something but probably nothing in her bloods...... Don't worry!
Her change in drugs.... Is having an effect on her hba1c levels..... More tests and appointments.....
phone never stopped this afternoon...... Another appointment for assessment..... Council, social, carers.....whoever! Let them come.
I am misremembering if I mentioned, I have a new tax code, informed because of a change in marriage allowance status. Something to do with the wife not claiming her allowance due to not working for since her disability. A claim had gone in to reclaim the last few years back to Just before covid and my enforced retirement. Could pay for Christmas! Hope that made sense?

I will have to make a dentist appointment for her, lost a tooth while having cheese on toast, this time, red cheese, and her misrememberitis paid me the compliment of asking if I wanted some! Just a 'no thanks!' In reply!

Missed most of the cricket, didn't think it would be a full day, mind you it's down sarf! Different weather pattern than our ridiculous arctic conditions that you need a couple of layers, coats, umbrella a nd a hot water bottle tucked away. Gloves on!
That is so hard @Lamont D . We looked after both Mr K's parents when they had dementia. I remember asking permission to wash their clothes and when they refused to let me I felt I couldn't go against their wishes. Why on earth didn't I just take their clothes and wash them - they wouldn't have noticed.
I'm getting used to not informing my beloved, until it happens,or something similar, the rememberitis discourages forecasting or forethought. And you are right, just do it!

I once did in my youth, under 4minutes for a 1500 metres. I just can't imagine doing that for another 25 miles!
But I knew a guy, in my works, (big factory) that ran everyday something like ten miles. He collapsed and died running into work. He was so fit! In his early thirties, didn't smoke, drink, drugs! Salads every day etc. His heart just stopped!

Cricket finished now, so I'm going to check the missus, maybe cook something, Lancs scoring well!

Lots to do tomorrow morning for first visit assessment in the afternoon.

Have a pleasant evening! It ain't raining here yet!
There is a coherence in this universe of change and decay governed by the laws of
thermodynamics.

Absolutely but I am not going to mention it when she's away and coming up next week for an overnight stay before they go to the Fringe at Edinburgh.
Can't get see a GP at the surgery here nowadays.
Best wishes
Derek
My doctors surgery is throwing them around like it's a free prize every time you ask!

Take care mate, maybe, just maybe, it is a side effect of spending your allowance! The opposite of retail therapy, I call it retail punishment.

How can you save money, when you are spending money? On a bargain? It is not logical!

Nighttime wildlife camera.
Horrendous rains here daily and nightly at the moment.
It is not summer as I know it.
A very soggy badger looking for some thing.
He actually looks so miserable.
Normally he takes rain in his stride.

Only 18 seconds long...

Creative is acrylic inks using hake brush and water...

Have your best kind of day.
Already mine is not working out as planned, and I now have to go out again, which I did want to do. Where's the silver lining in that cloud...it's got to be in there somewhere...

3+ hour power cut during the night. Of course, it was just when I had to get up. Found my way to the kitchen using the light from my Libre and turned on the battery powered storm lantern that we keep there - only to find that it faded in a few minutes to a dim glimmer. Decided to use a candle and found that the candles had disappeared from the candle holders. Where? No idea so I had to go hunting for a candle holder that actually had a candle in it. Found an old Drambuie bottle used as a candle holder and then had to hunt for the matches. Finally got it lit and giving enough light to see what I was doing. That was all at 1.30 am. The Drambuie bottle was a one litre one which Tom turned into a candle holder years ago and it has been left on a shelf for many years with its candle in ready to use. Drambruie was his absolute favourite tipple.

BG at 1.45 am was 13.9. At present it's 10.4. So far this morning I've put some stuff away that has been hanging around for a few days, stripped my bed and put the first of the washing on, checked the bathrooms and got everything up off the floor - it's floor cleaning day. Need to have some breakfast quite early to have it all out of the way before my cleaner arrives.

Better get on.

Smashing, the card recipients are going to love these.

Good morning from Cineworld L.A. where MoveIt, MoveIt is showing almost continuously on loop in the lounge. Apple or banana rice clouds with blueberries are available on demand along with models of all the featured animals. In other news today is SSSF (with Milky's Halum frites) and somehow the Lionesses and Bazball need to be shoe horned into the day. @Annb hug for the power cut and busy morning but good news on finding the Dramhuie bottle. Not keen on it solo but a rusty nail warms the heart on a cold day. @gennepher the wonderful creative provides brightness in a wet July for you. Enjoy your day mine has been truly blessed - heaven in the ordinary.

Good morning everyone on a washing on the line start here in the dark and dangerous north. Final shopping completed for my pals trip back to LA. We are off to Harrogate at lunch time for our reunion weekend. This is number 51. We will raise a glass to absent friends. Art bit, finished the ink bits. Have a smashing day if you can, I shall make Koffy.

The best use I can think of for a Drambuie bottle is as a candle holder. To be honest, I've never tasted the stuff, so I might be being unfair to the manufacturer. I think I bought that litre bottle as a surprise gift one year - he never had such a big bottle of it before or after. Even back then, it was ridiculously expensive for what it was but perhaps not so to give a loved one such pleasure.

He was not a heavy drinker (got drunk one Christmas at sea on the brandy butter that was served with the Christmas lunch) but he had a habit of a small "nippy sweetie" every so often until it was all gone and then not buying any more for a long, long time. He was appalled when a doctor told him that what he was doing was "binge drinking". He was the same with a box of chocolates. Kept dipping into the box until they were all gone and then, no more for ages. I guess he just didn't see the point of saving it for another day - just consume it and then not be tempted any more.

It recalls the Roman north gate to Lincoln but obviously just superficially similar.

NB Newport Arch.

Very impressive old stone structure @dunelm
Enjoy your reunion weekend.

@Krystyna23040 good news on the wonderful fbg. Hope Archie continues to benefit from the injections. @dunelm thank you for sharing the magnificent structure and enjoy the reunion. Talking of raising a glass perhaps one for Randy Meisner later - ideally Nebraska straight.
Thank you @ianpspurs. It has taken months to get my blood sugars lower.

What seems to be working is substituting collagen for whey protein because it looks like the whey protein is spiking my blood sugar.

Also losing weight is helping. My ideal weight is 9st 5lbs where normally blood sugars are fine and I really hate my weight going lower than that but have now dropped to 9 stone and will continue until I get to 8st 12lbs.

I suspect that I am a TOFI and the carb fest at Christmas deposited a load of fat around my pancreas which I have to remove before blood sugars go back to normal.

I don't want to look haggard and too thin but MrK swears that I don't. Am not 100% sure that I believe him.

Archie is doing really well on his librella injection and collagen peptides. He can even run upstairs again.
