A stormy night - Skinny Fox & Cat Chunky Marmalade & Foxy Loxy & Cat Jade & Badgers
1min 38secs

Creative...I found a Bic roller pen, among my pens, which responded well to the water brush. Here is my first attempt with this pen...
I think I like it.

A cuppa tea, then a little drive calls.

Fingers crossed.
I had found in settings a diagram of the car (this is on a touchscreen, large iPad sized), where all the safety features of the car were, and it was not obvious at all to touch each of those features on the car diagram, where on doing so, a whole new menu for each one sprung up. I had been going down the traditional type menu in settings (which is on the left side of this car diagram, and I assumed the car diagram was just information) and that traditional type menu was very limited in what it allowed you to do and various things greyed out and so were inactive but they were active on the menu that sprung up with touching each different area of the car diagram...
In NONE of the car forums does anyone mention you can do this, touch the diagram for a whole new menu to spring up, they just give you the traditional type settings menu - go into such and such, scroll down to such and such, click the right arrow etc.

Right, now to test what I have done.
I am apprehensive...I want to believe....

Morning all from L.A. where we are promised a day of light cloud and a fresh breeze. Currently a cloudless sky but I'm taking no chances with 5 layers and the heating on while watching cricket. @dunelm hug for the arms and hands issue and for the anniversary but winner for creating and sharing the art. Have a wonderful time with your family. @gennepher thanks for sharing yesterday's creative and I hope you find a workaround for #cargate. Is that heating system working well after all the hassle? @alf_Josiah good to see you back and please thank Mrs A J for the art and for looking after yourself. Perhaps try flowers this time not the Dewalt catalogue - less need to catch flying crockery. We may venture into my homeland to remove a wreath today since Candlemass is a good time to take down the decs. While there I'll look for some suitable pork for Sunday's family lunch in either of two local producers (grandchildren like h/m apple sauce more) and see if there is any buffalo steak - yeehaw. Do Friday your own way - 6 nations starts this evening :woot:

Good morning everyone on a dark and blustery start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north. 5.7 on the rollercoaster snapshot. An up and down day yesterday. Hands and lower arms decided to go on strike but happily contemplating the joy that my sister brought into all our lives. My niece took my parents to the place where her ashes were returned to the earth a year ago and then had lunch in a favoured restaurant, by the sea. Things can only get better - get off that keyboard Brian you also have diabetes. Packing morning - we are not leaving until lunch time. Son in law is in charge of mass catering tonight - eight adults and eight children - one who now identifies as an adult just because she is 19 (I shall identify as a child for the weekend to balance the numbers - hope my body is all flexible, pain free and enjoys all the activities). Art bit - hands playing up yesterday so just a quick daub on a postcard size piece of watercolour paper. I hope that your day is as good as it can be. I have koffy to drink and a toothbrush to pack.

Brilliant that you found out that by touching the diagram a whole new menu sprung up.

Why oh why do manufacturers make it so difficult to find out how things work.

6.1 this morning.

Workmen arrived bright and early yesterday morning removed radiator from wall threw open windows and back door turning most of downstairs into a fridge pushed all the dining room furniture into a big heap and covered it all with plastic sheets removed plaster from wall painted the wall with foul smelling chemicals then left at about three in the afternoon next set of work persons due this morning to re plaster the wall should once that’s done have the radiator re fitted next Monday Judith not happy as her work space is in the dining room and there is not much room to sit at desk and use the computer for work oh well such is life.

Hug for the disruption and cold, especially for Judith. Good that they came on time and (hopefully) treated the damp as we are becoming aware of just what an issue damp is. God bless and keep you both now and always.

BG at 0300 was 9.0. Still in the 8's after a cup of hot water and a cup of black coffee. Put my basal dose back up by one unit this morning.

Before we were married Tom had bought a little waste bin - attractive images of peacocks against a mottled green/gold/blue background. A little while after we were married, I decided that it needed a good clean so sat it in a shallow bath of a Flash solution to an inch above the base. I was only 19 and not very good at housekeeping/cleaning. The Flash solution took the paint off the bin up to that one inch line. We found it a week or so ago during a search for something else and Neil decided to repaint that one inch of white undercoat and the inside of the bin with green Hammerite. Good idea, but he decided to do it yesterday; just when I don't need wet paint around the place. It has been sitting on a workbench in the utility room so I can't take rubbish or washing through in case I get fluff or dust on the wet paint. :banghead:

The surveyors yesterday told us that we will have to change the radiators when they put the new system in. Neil questioned that but it seems the new system will need bigger pipes than the existing ones, so the whole of the heating system pipework will have to be renewed. Plus we need a radiator in the hallway which means using the largest bit of wallspace available. That means moving a power socket and moving the existing thermostat because it will be too close to the radiator. New lights in the kitchen because the they are LEDs sunk into the ceiling and won't be able to be covered by the new loft insulation. We could cover them with fireboxes but there are 8 of them so Neil would prefer to just take them out and use a ceiling mounted lighting system. Neil suggested getting rid of the leather 3 piece suite because he knows I won't get rid of the antique family odds and ends of chairs/settees. :( I know it makes sense but it will be a wrench. We were also told that the solar panels will need more space for part of the system (DC/AC conversion) so my mother's little sideboard will have to go from the front porch. The new loft insulation will come higher than the current top of the beams so we will have to add wood to raise the height so that we don't lose all the storage space up there. That's going to take a lot of new wood - not difficult but adding to the overall expense and time consuming. The new system will need a huge water tank to go into the loft. There is space for it, as long as the existing stand-by cylinder with immersion heater in it and the existing cold water tank are removed, so that has to be done before they start as well. And, of course, there is all the making good to be done afterwards. :arghh:

Just as well we never got around to redecorating the hallway bathroom and bedroom.

More clearing to do today. Loads more unnecessarily kept paperwork to go out. More clothes to go to charity shops. Considering what to do with a pile of brushed cotton sheets. Haven't used them in years but will I in future? Probably not. Are they fit for passing on without any repairs which would waste time that I don't have at present. So keep meantime or just dump? Decisions, decisions.

First decision - what to have for breakfast. That is a priority. :hungry:

Initially I was going to give a hug but then I thought Candlemass is a time of opportunity and optimism, new opportunities, celebrating new life. So I gave a winner for those opportunities not decisions. Plus I just bought 3 flannel shirts (Blake Shelton, yeehaw) I had tracked for a while - blame University Challenge, don't ask -with 20% discount and England took a wicket.:woot: Throw the sheets - I need to put 3 shirts in the next charity collection for balance.

Smashing ink pen and water sketch. All the best with the newly discovered settings.

Didn't need a hug Ian. It's a once in a million chance to declutter this house. There are things that I will keep but others that I am not particularly attached to. I'll inspect the sheets to see what their condition is - not worn, I know but the edges might have come unstitched. If they're OK I'll send them to the charity shop, if not, they can become cleaning rags (and kept in a box in the shed). The 3 piece suite is rather a nice one, green leather, comfortable, but quite big. It will do somebody a turn because it is still in good condition. The deep fat fryer will go, but I'm thinking of keeping the grill - I can make a space for it beside the hob and Neil's breadmaker.

Onwards and upwards.

Groundhog day.
Puxatauny Phil has stated that it will be six more weeks as he didn't see his shadow.
However, that is over there and I don't care!!
It is a beautiful morning and the windows are open. Washing on line. Gonna tidy up the garden, potter about. Get some rays.

Have your best day, with the weekend coming quickly.

Best wishes to you all as always!
