What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Morning all from a sunny L.A. Yet another night where I am reminded how blessed I was that other improvements were more pressing than removing ceiling fans. I feel sorry for those who suffer in the heat but this is my wheelhouse - fitbit sleep scores and basic data support that feeling. @dunelm thanks for sharing the art and I hope you source and enjoy that crab. @gennepher I hope the important business goes well and thank you for sharing the majestic creative. @JohnEGreen of course any change to an important routine which has worked well is stressful. @Krystyna23040 the hat and air con sound just the sort of sensible actions one expects from yourself. Mr K's influence is strong:D @Ryhia glad my diary was accurate and you had a good day. I hope the back trouble can be well managed asap. @Lamont D I'm sure we all hope and pray for that shower to be installed today. @lindisfel you are in our thoughts and the prayers of fellow believers and more importantly living in the love and grace of God. You've all done very well to stick with this so far. Have a summer song* and my best wishes for a splendid Tuesday. *Sorry Jack, for nearly 50 years I've had this as an Eagles song.

Good morning everyone on an overcast and balmy start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north. 6.2 on the gom jabbar this a.m. It looks to be another ankle swelling day in the land of surprises where some mass shouting at politicians is being watered down by folk shouting at footy. North of the border, folk will be receiving the postcards that they, themselves sent from Germany a couple of days ago! We are off out to lunch today and trying for crab salads at the Cod and Lobster in Staithes (pronounced 'steers' by the 11 fingered locals). Art bit - finishing off from yesterday. Hope your day is just warm enough. I best make some koffy and hang out the washing on the Siegfried line.
Are Staithes! A Cornish type fishing village on the East Coast I remember it well when I was at Bilsdale transmitter. It wouldn't have been long after you went to the Falklands.
I could have stopped as assistant manager but I yielded to others ideas.
I had a furnished flat in Great Ayton village with three floors.

God bless you Ian, may you recover fully soon.

Thank you Ian for the creative compliment @ianpspurs.
Yes, the important business went well. I had put some feelers out to get hold of some equipment I needed. Did nearly a hundred mile round trip. Although the equipment was the exact same design, it was nearly 10 years old they thought. But the same lithium battery has been in since they had it, because they couldn't open the back plate, and the tiny screw has been screwed in too hard...and lost its, what do you call it (?) not thread, but that crosspiece the Phillips screwdriver goes into. Some idiot has used a massive Phillips screwdriver and force, and not a tiny watchmakers Phillips screwdriver and a delicate touch... I need to find my jewellery pliers. A few prayers would be welcome that the lithium cell coin battery has not leaked.

Patience is still reigning here, softly, softly is my approach still. But I am now in need of a very long nap here. I have no idea if this piece of equipment will be compatible with my piece of equipment, or even the app...it might not be modern enough...it did not cost me anything, I just bought someone their lunch... and there's petrol too...

Sorry, not looked at your song, I cannot make out the words or music yet...I have to get used to sounds, noises, and words again. It is all meaningless sounds to me, no associations. Everything is, until my brain adjusts again.

Yes, @ianpspurs Mr K's advice is often (usually) correct.

I must admit I am starting to feel a little overwhelmed it may sound daft as I now the the op on Monday is a straightforward procedure and a minor op but the complexity of stopping my warfarin using injectables then afterwards having to use injections and warfarin together for a certain amount of time and having to manage it all myself is giving me a bit of anxiety.
John, I get what you are saying and any procedure is worrisome.
Have faith for the docs doing it. And believe that they really know what they are are doing.
With the outcome, being an improvement.
Otherwise, you wouldn't take it on.
You know what it takes and I'm sure you will come through it all ok.
My best wishes for Monday.

Ah, but it woren't a Cromer crab bore. :D JKP goes apoplectic at the thought of any other kind really being a crab and they must be smartly dressed by a Narfick gel. Comedy gold to me. Which aspirational place in the D and D is the northern Southwold/Padstow where the dressed crabs wear morning dress? I found Harrogate a tad tawdry if I'm honest.

No FBG!
understandable under understatement of upper undergrowth of underwear in underwhelmed undershower.
Yay!
shower has manifested, another noisy morning due to outside increasing holes in fabric of our roadway.
with the electrical and plumbing members of housing making it possible to unhear anything.
Mrs L has been very brave disrupting progress to be downstairs as the noise abatement squad from the council was unavailable for a comment.
And as soon as a lie down occurred, #8 arrived with dad, to investigate the goings on.
Been to sports day of #7, who finished with more medals than a third world dictator.
Impressively, winning her class sprint over 50 metres, which included boys!

We sat in back garden, and beautiful in the sunshine, whilst the ball game developed, with Mrs L admiring the ratbag's skills. It was fun. But I was feeling it so. Maybe too much sun, too much interrupted sleep.
Worrying about the shower, stupid anxiety! But I am tired.

The job done, and now tested by Mrs L, poor love, couldn't wait to have a text run.
Verdict not bad!
Never happy!
Mrs L smiled.
I will have a go later.

Weather has changed, from beautiful, to cloudy and the North wind has come back. Not in weather reports!!!!!
So it has gone from 23 mid morning to 18degrees now.

I had to go shops this morning as the cuppa bags were disappearing quickly.
And I bumped into a former player who now has to work, to earn a crust.
It was great to catch up. And it does make a mockery of how much lower league players actually get paid.

Footie tonight, it's got to be better, rest a few. Change tactics please!
Cricket..... Lancs doing well. England in semis.........

Kitchen duties need my involvement.
Nearly boiled eggs dry this morning!!!!!
Bloody idiot, I was informed.

Our great niece has arrived to cheer up Mrs L.
Must be close to her birthday in early July?

@dunelm, I never knew you were in the Falklands.
Pray tell?
A friend in my school, his brother was KIA at Goose Green.
Brew up in same neighbourhood.I

My best wishes to you lot as always.

Ooh I have gone all Galton Blackiston . The view from No1 Cromer is pretty good - stopped there for some smashing seafood on a bike trip a few years ago. Nearly got wiped out by some old bodger in a landrover a few miles before hand coming down the coast road out of Kings Lynn. Ah, Harrogate - we have our reunion there because it’s where the Army Apprentices College was/is located.

Sorry. Either me or the late Duke of Edinburgh. To be fair I was in Harrogate in winter for a Baptism so probably didn't catch it looking the best. Anyone vouch for any of these?

BG at 02.30 was 5.8. Still around the same even though I haven't taken bolus insulin for 2 days now. It did peak briefly yesterday but it soon dropped down again.

Up and at it early this morning (got going by 07.30) A friend asked me to do some urgent sewing for her using some of my store of fabrics so I did the cutting out this morning (no space in the kitchen so I had to lay it out and cut it on my bed). My back did not like that one little bit! Anyhow, it came to the sewing and I found that I have misplaced the power cable for one machine and part of the other one has gone awol. Spent much of the rest of the day searching everywhere for the cable to no avail. Neither machine is useable. I made an urgent call to ask to borrow Em's machine and am waiting for something to materialise from that. If that's not on, I'll have to sew it by hand. Aaargh!

When Alistair answered the phone it was clear that he has caught some bug and he confirmed that he has tested positive to Covid. Maybe that's what has been affecting Neil and myself for the last few days. Alistair is going to send up some test kits for us to check.

Thanks Lamont but am not so worried obot the procedure itself but organising my warfarin and injectables before and after.
Had an INR appointment this afternoon you guessed it with the same person who gave me the wrong sheet today she had made three attempts to get enough blood so I took the finger pricker from her and did it myself 4th time lucky the test strips cost £12 each.
Trouble was level was low which triggered a coagulation insident which meant she could not give the dosage Callander without consulting a doctor you would think it not difficult to find a doctor at the GPs surgery not so we were left in the tiny treatment room for about 40 minutes goodness knows what the temperature was what a day.

PS any spelling errors are not my fault but my phones.

Those location look as though they have been picked for their distance away from all civilisation so you can’t check them out ….. Apart from one! Your report from Rocky Bottom is awaited with baited hook and breath.
