About 9 seconds in, you can see the Badger triumphantly carrying one of the birds fatballs out of the garden. He returned awhile later, but alas no more fatballs!!!

Creative - another kaleidoscope, using the spider plant in the bathroom again.

I am still very tired, slept a lot today.
Weather was absolutely foul, and dark.
It was that bad, I found I had several extra inhabitants in my bungalow. Some of the stray cats had come in for food and shelter for a bit... I couldn't get to the kitchen without tripping over cats. Two of these stray cats, they do not allow me to touch or handle them, and they didn't even today, but they were grateful for food and shelter. They purr around my ankles and were kissing my hand with their noses as I put the food down, but this is not an invitation by them to allow me to touch any part of them.

I think I just have two extra cats tonight, but there might be a third one hiding somewhere. Midnight allows this (he is the only cat I allow to sit and sleep on me), I assume he understands what it's like to be out in foul weather.

Night night

Sweet dreams....

Greeting all.
Been quiet of late so I thought I'd pipe up.

A sultry 6.5 FBG this am

A week off work, not going anywhere so just a little chill time.

Wasn't going to mention but a poor day last Wednesday.

Not too sure how to take it .

Woke up, felt rough as the proverbial while getting washed
Almost cried off work... almost .

I take car to station, ( near by but too far to walk for me )

Park up & lock it .

Absolutely tipping it down (silly o'clock am) rain mac, hat, water pouring off me as I move.
I head to station, bank card for scanning at barrier in pocket.

Halfway there I check ...
Oh no ...card missing .

Back to car retrace steps ...no card.

Load up spare card, but now missing train , so I'm late (hate being late).

Awful day at work, feel 'off' all day, bristle at almost everything

Home time, train home delayed & packed, don't deal with crowds that well..thankfully it's a short journey..arrive back at car.

Well I would have if it was still there.....eek

It's been stolen.
Nephew or niece borrowed it but forgot to mention goes through my head .

While no car, I check ground in dark to see if I can at least see my bank card.......

Only for a car, lights ablaze (bye bye night vision) to park on a near empty street... on THAT spot .

I raise my eyes to plead to the gods for a small break in this awful day ...

And then I spot it.....
"Parking suspended ' on a pole a few cars back from where I parked .

Ok mystery over...what's the cost...I go online to the website , car pound towing fee & parking ticket just north of £400 smackers ..aagghh.

Cane out & a painfully slow mournful walk home , musing at the unexpected cost & once home I rest up & apply heat to knee, wondering why I bother working.

I try putting it on the back burner, as you do and chalk it down to 'experience'...

Well I try .

Next morning I wake up determined to sort it come what may

Upshot is niece tells me they don't always tow to pound....
Hers wasn't ...interesting

Sensibly they just move car a few streets away and fine you the parking penalty (£65 if paid in ..etc )

I check ..mines a block over where I parked ...
I collect it relieved it only cost £65 not £400.

I bowl around feeling £340 richer stupidly ...lol

So yeah, a pee poor day, followed by a little Ray of sensibleness bringing a lightness to the dark of the previous day ...the End.

Anyway, all good here

A few health assessment appointments re accident, so an 'almost' week being left to my own devices ...nice .

Stay safe all.
Rotten day for you - parking charges - it’s all very sneakily done I feel.

Hug for the tiredness and foul weather. Thank you for the cheery kaleidoscope

Good morning everyone on another splendidly quiet start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north. 5.4 on the scales of Osiris - significant as I made a fish pie for last nights dinner. Instant mash; I make it first thing in the morning or last thing at night for the next day using half the amount of boiling water and then lob in butter, cold milk and cream until I get the consistency. Then, into the fridge to chill. Seems to work. Topped last night’s pie with cheese before baking. We do like to finish our evening meal before 7pm so that may also help.
Off to Birmingham for the weekend to see the Ninky Nonks and Little Miss Pamplemouse so gift wrapping was our early evening entertainment on a rainy day. The tree may make an appearance today - we will leave some of it for The Girl In The Bubble to tackle when Mrs Miggins picks her up from school. Still not sure who is responsible for moving the marker along the advent lump of wood. Can’t be me, I haven’t been trained. Art bit - I must think of something else to do with these various shades of ink that I over made. Hope your day has at least a ray or two of sunshine in it. My first ray appears whilst making a cafetière of koffy.

A hug for the underlying tiredness,
But a great big win for the open heart & such kind understanding about the needs of your furry companions.

Bellissimo .

My experience @dunelm with mixing shades of inks is that even small/tiny quantities will last the next few years...mine do... I have just found a drawer full of them...
I love that elongated one and the red roof.....

Thank you for those lovely words @jjraak it seems to be a fine day this morning, no dramatic sunrises, a bit of a blue sky some clouds and a teeny tiny bit of sun. So I think we can call that a nice looking day.

There are two of those strays that won't to allow me to touch them, but are sitting companionably by my feet as I was trying to clean the pots and do a couple of things in the kitchen, they were not asking for more food they just want to sit with a bit of human company for a short while the weather was raging outside (must be a memory when they had human companionship long ago)...but I have to be very mindful not to reach down and touch them. It's totally on their terms.

Just like I want to go out to mix with people for a wee bit even if it's only the shops, in the cafe etc and then I can go back to my peace and quiet...

As I live on my own, my house rules are my rules in what I allow.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen.

Blood sugars this morning were 5.8

Mrs J has finished festooning Tilehurst Towers with Christmas decorations and in a couple of days time I shall start swooping her Christmas ornaments around.
I usually wrap sprouts in Fererro Roche wrappers and hang them on her Christmas trees. This year it has been suggested that I coat the sprouts in chocolate then wrap them up, we shall see.

Have a great day all.

@alf_Josiah you could crush some nuts, mix that in with the chocolate, but make sure you do some white chocolate some milk chocolate and some dark chocolate sprouts, then wrap with the Pharaoh rocher (Sorry spell check won't let me write the correct word) wrappers.

Spellcheck (it is calling itself Sally this morning) is overriding me a lot this morning and a few swear words might slip in if I don't notice them because I am dictating this.

Morning all from an overcast and slightly cooler L.A. on this 3rd day of winter 2024. Still no need for a long sleeved base layer or thickest flannel shirts (Blake Shelton Y'all) but too cold for me. Some enjoy the cooler weather and in days of yore long dog walks, splitting wood and building a sturdy log pile,.some of the more hearty fare and a traditional fire or stove ameliorated things. Elsie Keto, a shonky back and this dwelling hath no such charms but, and it is a crucial but, I was blessed to have had those times and am still blessed by God to have what I have. Note to self, Advent is all about - no, not the bass Megan - now but not yet. @gennepher thanks for the video and kaleidoscope kindly shared even when sorting that bedroom leaves you so tired. Full respect Ma'am. @dunelm thank you for another red roof special. Safe journey to Birmingham. I have found instant mashed potatoes work well enough for my bg although 100 gms takes some powerful binoculars to locate (fish pie is a massive no, no for me) but I would never have put butter in the real product. Do they count as UPFs and if so does that even matter once in a while except to the pearl clutchers/food Nazis? @Krystyna23040 I hope that diary secretary is given a Christmas bonus and a huge turkey - free range, organic. Norfolk Black obs. @alf_Josiah be'ave young man. @SlimLizzy hug and just hang in there. Keto mince pies made by the Food Fairy yesterday and worked well - are artifical sweeteners UPFs, is 6 gms carb per mince pie truly wicked? So far we only have a wreath on the front door and an Advent wreath in the "lounge". #1 son should be here today to retrieve our dinky Christmas tree from the loft. You've all done very well so relax and enjoy Chewsday.

Good Afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen. It is now day 3 of Mrs J’s Christmas decorations erection. It is the turn of the lounge to be festooned with a tree, lights and baubles.
I am being to think about crowd funding to finance our soon to be extravagant LED electricity bill.
Hopefully today will be the end.

Blood sugars this morning were 6.7

Stay dry, stay safe and if you are of a sensitive nature don’t take part in Masterchef.
Your posts always make me laugh ...keep up the good work :)

Talking, as I was earlier, of Norfolk Turkey's, this one made it all the way to Washington. Yes, I shouldn't disparage anyone but some of the ideas and actions of the new/alt right are horrendous. If she believes what she says she needs help. If its just for the money that is a major indictment of our times. Somehow we - UK Plc - have gone badly wrong (UPFs again?) to have her, Kemi, Nige, JRM, Clarkson et al's all strutting their stuff at the same time. Farmer harmer Starmer needs to develop a compelling narrative fast. Being right is no longer relevant in this post truth social meedja age. Granted the piece linked was meant to be humorous but inconvenient truths like the attached aren't. Black just isn't white whatever artful snake oil salespersons try to aver.
