What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

7.6 because I hope I'm just tired.
Woke up around 7am, the curtains have been pulled down by Mrs L, as a stumble into them saved a more serious problem. I wasn't too pleased.
It was a good hour later, I could have my first cuppa and wide awake.

Weather is winter like. Heating automatically came on.
Trying to have a 'quiet' day.I

Best wishes.
Freezing here too @Lamont D

I had to put a winter jumper on to keep warm

8 10am FBG 5.4 sensible eating day one.
Rain again and so sick of it. Have managed to catch about two litres in a bucket by using an old towel as a rain chain. Of course some water escaped, to soak into the already sodden dirt floor, but it's an improvement to catch any of it.
Planted my tomatoes out and now worrying about blight with all the rain.
Minor problem realiy compared to some people's issues. Channelling my Nana:
" Mustn't grumble "

Morning all from what promises to be a thundery Sunday here in L.A. Fbg was 4.9 at 7.11 today and is 4.5 as I type. @Annb hug for that alarm waking you but well done toffee. @gennepher thank you for sharing the colourful kaleidoscope which looks to me like a robe or ceremonial shield of some Pacific Island warrior Chief. I can definitely see spears in there but I do need my peanut butter and Jarlsberg :D #3 son, partner and children visiting today. Not bbq weather and not ideal for a traditional Sunday lunch so we may "buy in" - KFC seems to be an idea. Chicken should be fine but I'll probably peel away the Col's secret herbs and spices:D Make the best of the hand you are dealt today, hopefully there will be some aces in there.
Enjoy your KFC.

10.6

No carbfest yesterday but another exhausting crisis that needed immediate action. Really need a proper rest soon.

Hubby went to get prawns out of the freezer for dinner and knocked a lead-acid battery off a chair onto his big toe. Both he and my daughter are very squeamish so he dragged himself to the sofa with a handful of kitchen roll (in case of fainting) and called for help. Toe doesn't appear broken so no need for medical attention but it needs careful dressing as the nail is now a bit loose.

Spending as much time lying down as possible but have to keep changing position due to itchy rash on back of hip. Hope it's just from an insect bite allergy combined with being run down, I don't need any more medical visits this month!

You and yours are having a hard time of it @debs248. I hope both your husband and you feel better soon. I daresay it will take a while for that sore toe to feel comfortable to walk on though, but I hope your rash will ease rapidly and make you feel a lot more comfortable.

Morning all from a breezy but fine L.A. where my salmon pink shorts are having an outing - no not THAT sort of outing. Fbg today was a flat 5 but is now (see time of posting) 4.4 possibly due to the wonders of Assam tea. Leaf of course (there was some discussion about tea bags affecting bg). Hug for the pain @Annb and I hope the painkillers work. @Lamont D hugs, thoughts and prayers with you, Mrs L and the family. @gennepher thank you for sharing the colourful creative. I am stiff and achy today after trying several sofas before finally buying a pair to replace the remains of the monster ensemble we have. "My chair" is quite uncomfortable after about 13 years of wear. It is part of an original corner group of 10 which locked together so everyone could watch a film or sport. The whole thing never fitted this modest abode but back then, 6 years ago, I was loathe to buy new sofa. We need to sell or dispose of the old one quite quickly. Have the best day you can I have lots of sport to watch, tea to drink and peanut butter to eat shortly

My mum was the same as and when my dad would treat us all on a Friday (pay day)
We should all be grumbling about the state of the country.

Morning all from a breezy but bright L.A. where the pre-heatwave temperature is projected to rise to a non-scorchio but standard uk summer 21C. Fbg of 4.7 at 7.17 but now 4.3 after almost 19 hours fasted. KFC didn't seem to alarm my blood glucose, going from 4.9 start to 6.2 at 2 hours. Admittedly, 6.2 is high for me after a meal but I did eat the coating and their "salad" which had a thousand island dressing - definitely some sweetness in that. No chips fries for me thanks. No cooking needed, everyone enjoyed the change and chicken that way is JKP's favourite. We do have a wonderful recipe from the Swoon Sisters called Pablo's chicken which we used to make. Perhaps time to revive that. @gennepher thank you for sharing another bright creative. Have the best Monday you can, I need more tea then peanut butter and Jarlsberg.
Edited to add "that" before way and recope

5.7 at 03.20 while in bed waiting for the ability to get up. Legs out of the bed and sitting on the edge - helpful liver gave me a boost up to 7.1. Down to 6.5 by the time I struggled through to the kitchen - about 5 minutes later. Not sure which one is FBG.

I seem to be in the middle of an arthritis flare up and moving is difficult still. I daresay it'll sort itself out soon. Not managing to do anything other than sit around, dozing.

More rain. Have set up a bucket and towel system to catch some of the water. But while we were out shopping must have been a deluge because the bucket had overflowed.
We bought paint and lino, but failed to find a suitable toilet and washbasin, eventually MrSlim decided he needs to take out the toilet and block up the door first so that we knew the exact space available for them. So another not entirely successful trip, but still moving on.
Indulged in a chinese buffet lunch. If we ever go there again will have fewer of tbe pre- cooked mass produced starters and more of the cooked to order with your choice of ingredients stir fry. Mine was seafood and vegetables. No rice. Or noodles.
Edited to correct multiple typos.

I had such a clever idea. Since I don't know how to encrypt a file on my pc, I keep all my passwords in a notebook but it was getting very grotty with use and the pages were becoming quite fragile. I decided to key them all in on a word processing file and save them to a memory stick where they would not be vulnerable.

Trouble was, my pc seems to have taken exception to the memory stick (no idea why) and the system just stopped working, refusing to get going again and refusing to let me force it to quit. I got Neil on the job and he, eventually managed to make it quit, then he remounted the memory stick and there was my file. That's good, but I thought I'd do the old belt and braces thing and print out the file so I'd have a copy if the pc refused to accept the memory stick again. However, now my printer doesn't want to talk to my pc (sulking I expect) so I can't print it out.

It seemed like such a good idea too.
