What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

I’m not a huge chocolate person ( famous last words will probably come back and hit me tomorrow) but Aldi do small bars of plain chocolate - I can’t comment on the quality or the price but I just know Em do them
@Goacher55 i too am not a huge chocolate eater but just needed a substitute for what I do love when I've a craving or comfort eating when stressed so a small bar of dark chocolate is ok but we have on occasions had the Aldi chocolate and it's a nice chocolate so thanks for the information! K

@Granny_grump_, talking of chocolate we have just made a ganache as part of my fat fest today. 3 x100 gms bars of Lind Excellence 99%, 600 mls double cream, few drops of liquid sucralose. 7 ramekins in fridge so not eating all in one go. A very tempting recipe here as the rum sounds good http://allrecipes.co.uk/recipe/4871/chocolate-ganache.aspx
@ianpspurs wow that sound a great easy recipe to have on hand,I'm not a lazy cook but I have so many appointments and family needing my attention at this time I've very little me time, so thank you will keep it along with other ideas from fabulous people on here. You wouldn't get this much help and advice anywhere! K

Glad your cold seems to be clearing up but you do so very well with your BG levels envious K

Thanks, @Granny_grump_. Actually, I am quite surprised that my fbg seems to be dropping a bit lately -- especially given the cold and lack of exercise during the last few days. Maybe having dinner earlier (around 6 p.m.) is helping.

7.1 @ 8am

Have a confession though. I stopped taking my Gliclazide three days ago, so I only take 1 Metaformin morning and night. My readings have stayed between 5-7 during the day and I'd really like to prove to the doc I can do this without Glic.

@Granny_grump_You're very welcome. I am going to try to turn that mixture into Easter eggs using moulds from amazon. Would really like to make some caramel with sweetner and fill them with that.

@Granny_grump_ the small caramel filled eggs were a childhood family tradition. My grandparents gave all 8 of us a pack of these and I loved them. This is my attempt to relive my childhood but low carb!

I think the ganache would be better as a filling for eggs and not for the eggs themselves... well that's what I'm going to do with the hollow eggs I've made

@SueJB both ways sound good to me but the ganache does set hard so will make good eggs. Mr Pacino didn't stop us chatting then - was wondering!

Me and madam BG woke to snow and knowing that it's a indoor day, I was feeling really positive.
Washed hands and prepared the equipment, meter, stabber, tester.
Prick, squeeze, strip in, dribble blood, close eyes and 5,4,3,2,1
Peek
Rubbish again 6.9

Onwards and downwards, swimming against the tide but filling black choc eggs so stuff it!!
