What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

I’m just thinking a student gave me diabetic chocolate as an end of year gift one year. I never got to eat it as I went to Canada the following morning. On my return the gent who is now my hubby had eaten it all. Was it any good carb wise and is it still available ?

Not a gent if he snaffles your choc. I wouldn't bother with anything diabetic, the name itself increases the price. I buy Aldi 85% dark choc or Montezuma's Absolute Black or if I'm feeling flush,Hotel Chocolat, 100% choc buttons

So a nice 5.6 just now, which I really wasn't expecting as my 'lovely' next door neighbour had friends around and played loud music until 6am (yep, 6am!!) - it woke me up between 1am and 2 - then again between 3.30am and 6. Luckily my kids slept through most of it. Wondering if this means my liver never got a chance to dump?!

I looked at the video for the ganache... it looked soft
@SueJB we made our own version which we use for putting in a chocolate sponge filled with loads of cream and jar of cherries from Lidl which is now my birthday treat of choice. From this we knew the ganache goes hard left in the fridge long enough. Good luck with the Easter egg production.

Hi @SueJB I agree but if cream is added would it not make it more mousse like, I like the idea of trying this it's easy and quick to do,so are other suggestions people have made geefulls mug cakes, ziggy chocolate bars and ianpspurs chocolate ganache all worth trying, the proof of the pudding and all that! K

@ianpspurs I think it's a wonderful idea we never had any grandparents at all they died before I was born, you seem to have had a lovey childhood and carrying on the tradition is a great idea! K

@Granny_grump_ tradition/heritage is a big part of my life. My house is built on my grandparents land and I see their house every day so constant reminder.
My grandmother was also my first teacher so never going to forget that.

Edit:
The French idea of terroir is really important to me.

Another 6.9 this morning. :) :) :) monthly has turned up now on iron tablets. I'm still in shock about being anaemic. I eat well, 99% of the time.
I had a bleep after Xmas but financiers have been nudged in the right direction so back on track. A thin track but we manage it.
Iron tablets giving no problems, it seems. Gone tired again but blood loss won't be helping.
How lucky you men are!
However I read woman are less prone to kidney problems before menopause due to female Hormones.
After menopause we have same risk as men.
Neither wonder my diabetes hasn't affected my kidneys.... so far. Even A&E docs are in awe of my good kidneys. ;) 41yrs+ and counting. Maybe Metformin has suppressed testesterone (PCOS) enough to benefit my kidney health.:wideyed::D
Long may it continue! Praying for a delayed menopause now. Ha ha

Was 6.2 this morning, felt a bit down about that after 3 days IF and in the 5s but figure its probably my own fault as I wasn’t very active yesterday.

So, to remedy this I’ve just taken the dog out for a long walk. There is nothing more joyous than watching a dog bounding around in the snow. It’s lifted my mood considerably, and with any luck helped to lower my bg. Warming up now with hot creamy coffee: bliss.

Hope all you creative Easter eggers have fun today.

very important for good wine too

good morning all :)

4.5 today

snowing again here but just tiny flakes mostly, not much lying despite the lazy wind ;).

Off into the kitchen now to prep. the veg to go with the chicken and to make my pudding. Lemon sponge bun with some cranberries in it (left over in the freezer from Xmas - should work out ok I think). I'll have some full fat yoghurt with it. Hope you're all having a nice warm restful Sunday :)
