What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

good morning all :)

4.7 today

already hot again here so I'm hoping for a bit of rain. we're not used to frequent dry weather here in N Scotland. Just been watering the plants and now we're off to help out at the local charity ;)

Hope your day treats you well everyone :)

@ianpspurs blackcurrants at mum's cropping very well considering the dry weather and that there are only 6 bushes. I usually stew them a little (unsweetened), then blitz them in the blender, sieve and then freeze the pulp in silicone muffin cups, then you can put the separate lumps into a box and reach portions out when you need them. Homemade blackcurrant ice cream this weekend ;)

Good morning everyone very happy with my 4.9 today yesterday Ziggy (my dog) had a bath and got cut and he looks a lot better he needed rid of all of his fur due to it getting quite hot here in the UK also wondering if the heat is affecting my BGs as I’ve been having a few more hypos then normal. Anyway enjoy the heat before autumn gets here it won’t be long now

4.6 this morning less stuff to sort before bg today!
Well done @Terrytiddy and @johnpol - really good that you didn’t get your normal telling off and what an amazing improvement congratulations and hugs all round.
@ianpspurs hope all goes well on the expected Cambridge baby arrival front very exciting. Family are so important and will be wonderful to meet a new member of the family enjoy.
Hope everyone copes well with the promised hottest day scenario. My car in for its mot today - oh did I just feel my bg go up!

5.6 today - not really damaging but as the saying goes when you get complacent in a fight shi* wins, @johnpol congratulations even though you had steeled yourself for a different scenario, @Goonergal good fbg - I'd hake that.in a heartbeat @DJC3 being the Duracel bunny yesterday paid of in fbg. @OrsonKartt cassoulet is something I miss and is in the section of my mind headed worth a spike for.
One of the baby girls will definitely arrive later today and she will be born in Cambridge just like her granddad. I have a delivery of a repaired lawnmower , drill, bricks and tarpaulins to make to Lakenheath (Brecklands, Suffolk) as no 3 son is sorting out his new home.
@ianpspurs oh your getting a granddaughter? Congratulations

Good ideas re black currants @geefull

Morning All. 5.1 at 0745 after a restless night on the sofa, just too hot upstairs. .
@PenguinMum my sympathy for the sleepless night. I seem to thrive on the hotter weather with my sleep stats up by an hr over this heatwave and resting pulse now nicely below 60. Don't know if a bungalow helps and this post may not either but sympathy genuine.
@geefull guess the dry weather comes as shock to N Scotland. Bit extreme here but even the TV news here has picked up on my factoid that many parts of this region are drier than Jerusalem - so just a bit longer than other years here.

Thanks @PenguinMum Not twins, 2 different sons. 1 in Cambridge and 1 in Southampton - no offence but who decided Southampton was fit for human habitation?
Ahem...I live in W Sussex and Southampton Hospital has served me very well but wouldnt want to live in any city. The hospital was on GMTV earlier talking about the challenges of the heat for patients and staff. Hope first little girl makes a safe and quick entrance. You have a world of Peppa Pig, Barbie, pink things etc ahead of you!

Exciting times in your family! All good wishes for the birth of the first Miss P.

Blackcurrant ice cream is my favourite food in the whole world.
I don’t have an icecream maker, can you make it without? If so would you mind sharing your low carb recipe?
