What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

6.3
Bit gutted about that as I had resisted everything from an afternoon tea at lytham hall at a school reunion yesterday. Took my own salad. Didn't have one morcel of what was on offer! Kebab no pitta for supper. Ahhh that's why....I ate much later than usual. 8pm. Think that must be it. Anyway I'm very proud of myself for resisting temptation.

Today's mission. Trying to get pink concert tickets. Wish me luck!

Happy weekend folks.
Good luck - I’m trying the same - sat on Morrison’s car park waiting to try as know I lose internet connection inside.

Morning...left home at 9am yesterday morning...arrived home at almost 9pm last night...an exhausting day working...420 miles driven however my efforts got the desired results...I was shattered when I went to bed...but slept badly...just pottering about today tackling the odd bit of housework...woke to a 5.6

I got through. Got 2 tickets for Liverpool. £230! I couldn't justify that Emma so didn't push the button. It would have been £500 by the end if it with hotel, meal out etc. Concerts aren't my thing but I absolutely adore pink. Hope you got lucky.

Thats a heart warming tale and rather lovely, I must say. Let me be early in congratulating you both.
Thanks @PenguinMum. I was feeling very "ill" 34 years ago after stag night. I remember that day and the year and date of our wedding. Embarrassingly, I don't really know (without looking at my google diary) the year any of my sons were born and uncertain of the date for our youngest. I was at the birth of all 3 and remember every detail of each day - just not the year.:arghh::arghh:

I know it’s not an exact science but can any of you give me a fought, very tough guide my bloods are usually around 6 and I’ve got THE BLOOD TEST coming up shortly, can anyone suggest what a rough translation is from fbg to hba1c
Have you tried the app mysugr? It will give you an estimate and is quite accurate.

Morning all. 8.2 this morning but ate all the wrong things yesterday and sat up very late so not surprised.:( Must get back on the bandwagon today!! Have a good weekend everyone. :)

Tickets really do get more and more expensive don’t they! I retried a couple of times as the first ones were coming up £145 a ticket! Did get some for Wembley at £95 each in the end though

Yes, so far I have met a bear, a Westie, a mouse, and my favorite, a hedgehog. And discussed everything from my cat to the mouse's sister to Nova Scotia (my mother's birthplace) to 5K races.

Oh, yes, and xylophones and marimbas. :)

That’s a good and interesting variety and all in your own home it sounds splendid

What are 5k races? I’m intrigued

That's great! She will be awesome! Such a talent. And Wembley! What an atmosphere that's going to be! I'm not a concert goer to be honest. I love a tribute act haha. Much cheaper and can be equally as entertaining. Yet to see a link one though.

@OrsonKartt hope you got your meds sorted.

@shelley262 thanks for your concern. Good thought about backup meter. I only have ketone strips for the Caresens Dual. Just checked and neither ketone strips or ordinary ones seem to be available. However I do have a spare Codefree as I got a replacement when the time kept jumping about on one of them. Tested before eating a couple of hours ago, same drop of blood 4.6 on my usual meter and 4.2 on the spare one. The latter is closer to what I’d expect having not eaten all day beforehand. Just done the 2 hour post test and only 0.1mmol difference, with the usual meter the lower. Not conclusive though, so will do duplicate tests for the rest of the day. Next test will require a new tub of strips so maybe that will make a difference.

They are road (running) races, 5 kilometers. They are about the only thing over here, besides dressage, where distances are measured metrically. One of the Meals on Wheels delivery women ran in a 5k race here last July.
July here is too hot in my opinion for running any distance, even trotting a 20-meter dressage circle where the horse is the one doing the trotting!

Ah thank you I was thinking horse races for some reason
