What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Heartily agree

5.7 this morning. Sore throat of last 3 days morphed into full blown stinker of a cold last night, complete with hacking cough. I apologise in advance to everyone in the matinee performance at the Noel Coward theatre today, I’m sure I’ll annoy cast and audience. I’d rather not go tbh but it’s too late for my friend to find another person to go with now.

Have a lovely pre pre weekend day everyone.

@ziggy_w hope you are on the mend. I can’t comment on the ibruorofen - I get stomach ache with any nsaids but so many things other than sugar seem to have an effect I wouldn’t be at all surprised. Can you take it easy today?

Drive???? I learnt to drive in London, stay well away now.... DPD I've found to be the most effective , reasonably priced delivery co. Slightly more expensive than Royal Mail, but in my experience worth the slight extra cost.... and will keep cortisol levels hopefully lower.

4 greeted me this morning, I have been suffering from cluster hypos at the moment, usually 4 one after another and reading's aren't getting above 4. Turned my pump down a lot and running temp basal. My care teams advice???? Sometimes Diabetes does what it wants, like now!! Ahhhh well enforced sofa laying about as I feel terrible hopefully it won't last too much longer as I've had enough.

Take care everyone

Hi @OrsonKartt

well done getting into it, mate.

Missus is a big lover of yoga..and hits me with the details and i've seen her in action...full kudos for doing any of it.
way beyond what i could do at the moment (or ever ..splits.? :***:)
quite a few fellas in her classes, btw

But when she has shown me some simple moves, i've also ached the next day.

I feel it might be as men we prioritise certain muscle groups as being 'good' to stretch and /or develop..
and the ladies perhaps choose others..(it's all about our differing shapes and form i think )
so the ones being stretched now are probably under utilised.. by a man, imho.

think how easily the ladies turn in a dance routine to how stiff men (usually) are
ladies are much more flexible at start, for definite

similarly when i was doing some of the stretching exercises for running, the simpler ones, left the biggest impact, simple because i believe the muscles as explained above, weren't as used,
(exercise was for Hip Flexor muscles)

have a good day, too

Its a funny thing I can run for a bus, or to avoid getting hit by a car on a road. I'm quite keen on running around a tennis court, weather permitting, but I find the whole running thing , well bit boring I guess. The same with going to the gym. I am genuinely impressed by people who can do it regularly. I have tried it, many times at different places . So for me the discipline of going to a class at a set time I am really hoping will set me up because this body keeps telling me it can be in better shape despite what I now do..... But dont lets talk about the splits, just thinking about it makes me laugh...give it a year or two eh?

With yoga (as with any exercise routine) we have to start out slow and small and work through to more. I love Lilias' Yoga DVDs "Yoga for Seniors" because so much of it is seated! I need to bite the bullet and order the DVDs, since the little yoga that is on TV these days seems to be all about youngsters doing exercises for youngsters and I no longer have any desire (or ability!) to twist myself into a Downward Dog Pretzel to Greet the Sun With a Twist of Lemon. I just love the moving and feeling my body relax and move at the same time.

6.9 this morning -- had a small scone and a few sour-cream-and-onion potato chips with my moscato at Pub Trivia yesterday -- very very bad but very very delicious. Will re-check at bedtime tonight or tomorrow morning, may have to tweak the carbs some more.

I would have stuck the papers in an envelope and put the envelope in the mail, then made myself another cup of coffee. I might have sent it registered or certified, requiring a signed receipt at the other end. So much easier -- let someone else do the driving!

OTOH, I love a good road trip ... and important papers to deliver would be a great excuse for one ...

I drove up to our office Saskia...paperwork done...invoices done...all delivered & at the right time the traffic isn't so bad.

Downward dog pretzels would probably spike my sugar level too, but the relaxation...ahhhhhhhhhhh

My pharmacist told not to take Ibuprofen because it can raise blood glucose (I has asked if it was OK).

Mine told me not to take it because I have high BP. He recommended acetaminophen (but he is so young he was never given children's chewable aspirin as a child -- all we had when I was little). I have found that, for me, acetaminophen works better than ibuprofen, anyway. Unless I have a toothache.

Hello PM the stuff I choose off the menu is about a quarter of what I used to have, I just avoid the rice and anything that looks too sugary like the sweet and sours and Cantonese sauces (all the nice stuff) I might have a bite of everything off the wifes plate just to remind myself what I'm missing, but I mainly go because she enjoys it, and the low carb stuff tends to dominate most mealtimes now so it gives her a break.
