What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

TROMBONES! 76…. With all that Colour Trouping-Marching going on today, 7.6, and went to bed on TROMBONES too ;) .

Nearly finished Part 1 of clearing Castile Estragon ready for the new windows.

Happy Platty Jubes UK residents. Do treat all sugary/carby temptations judiciously. Since I never did cake etc it takes no resolve but some people even eat cupcakes - totally bizarre. Hugs for hay fever sufferers - @Pipp for one. Well done on the exercise again to our own Green Goddess. Great fbg @ultradad and well done on the walking and fbg @BrianDoc. Go Team D.
 
Morning All. 7.3 so still a lot to be done. Clueless but maybe I should march my way through Trooping the Colour for an idea. Happy Jubilee weekend All.
 
Very late today its 7:25pm and I’m reporting my morning FBG of 6.7. I’ll take it after a miscalculated dinner requiring a small correction.

A nice 5.2 by lunch then 4.1 by dinner. Fingers crossed not to continue the downward trend before bed.

Hello, totally new to the site. Diagnosed type 2 mid April. Came out of blue after eye test. Keep very fit and 22 bmi, so bit of a bolt from blue. That said my mum was diagnosed mid 50s and her mum was type1. Add on stressful job, had covid and not desireable carb and sugar diet and here we are.

HBA1C was 117 and when first checked bs after eye test was 26. Since day1 been super strict. Best I ever got down to is 8.1 but it was a titanic battle to get into single figures. Some evenings it 9 or 10 and next morning 14+. So utterly frustrating and illogical.

Will battle on and try to get down to some of those lovely 4, 5 and 6 readings.

It will happen took me over a year and a bit to see 6s and 5s but still have 7s in the mornings, blooming dawn phenomenon but as I say - it is what it is and at least my day levels are more in region for me :happy:
 
8.5 - Now what? More of the same, I guess.

Friday, should be Bin-Day, but, it’s now gonna be Sunday - Yay, for spontaneity! :woot:

You’re gonna hear a lot of the following: Take the Long View! This ain’t a Sprint, it’s a grinding Marathon, with often head-banging frustration. But, here’s the thing, you’re here now. You’re taking control. So, do keep reporting-in and updating us. Very shortly you’ll get some early wins, if not we’re here.
 
Morning All 7.4 today. Welcome @Echerontius you are already off to a great start. My experience is exactly as @Lainie71 has said though I am more than four years in. So far my HbA1cs have been good, not so FBG. Best wishes to you and stick around. No judgement here only support when you need it.
 
Welcome @Echerontius. @Lainie71 @Estragon and @PenguinMum have covered most things except @Estragon's trade mark saying Big Picture:angelic: Frustrating as it all seems knowing, via testing, what your BG is and managing that accordingly has exponentially improved your chances of avoiding serious diabetic complications. As for being fit and still being diagnosed, read some of @DEBBIESCOTT 's posts. The popular idea that anyone diagnosed as T2/Diabetic munches Krispy Kremes all day whilst dodging exercise is an urban myth. Go Team D.

An 8.0 for me this morning following a day yesterday that involved 4.2 at teatime and so my teatime Humulin M3 2 units I decided not to take as dinner was just 15 minutes before being ready! I did eat quite a few carbs to get BG up and by time I went to bed I was on 8.8 and stayed steady throughout the night so hoping today it plays ball. I’ve done my 3 units of insulin this morning.
