What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

6.8, which I’m pretty happy with as an improvement on recent numbers (10-13 or so).

Looks like I have a poorly 2 year old with a temperature of 39.5. Dosed him up with calpol and hope that works, last time his temp was this high he ended up being admitted to hospital, he has asthma as well and is a bit wheezy.

I'm going to write a 1 page advert for the talk I'm going to do 3rd week in January. (@xfieldok I would love your help and support if you are free as you are quite local and it would be good to catch up again, we could do a team presentation).

This 1 page advert I'm going to get into as many local surgeries as possible (starting with mine) to let them know 1) there is a monthly diabetics meeting and the details and 2) brief details about my talk mentioning how I've not only lost a lot of weight but also put my diabetes into remission/reversed/ controlled. I will probably run with 'reversed' as it will capture their attention and I may get more attending (I know I know)! It's all about helping others find a way that might work better for them. A healthier way to live. Giving them an alternative to the advice given that ensures the disease is progressive. It doesn't have to be. That said I'm not going to come over as a Dr I'm just going to tell about my journey and emphasise that the LCHF woe isn't for everyone especially if other health issues present.

.

I write sales pages as part of my job, I haven’t done any print adverts professionally but do say if you would like help with it, or if you think an internet sales page would be useful so you can share it online. Although I don’t know what website we could put it on!

Hope that doesn’t offend, for all I know you’re a professional advert writer! Not suggesting you can’t do it, I’d just like to help if it’s useful.

good morning all :)

4.4 today

had to go to one of our neighbours' funeral yesterday afternoon at the crematorium in Inverness. I hadn't been there since the new building opened. The chapel is a good space, light and airy and it was a humanist funeral so not hymns but Nat King Cole songs. It really was a celebration of his life and his message to everyone was to 'make the most of it'. The funeral tea included tequila and ice cream, his two favourites.

Didn't get much of a walk yesterday although I expect to get plenty of exercise today :)

Hope your day goes well everyone :)

Morning all a truly spectacular 5, happy days long may it continue, which we all know won't! there will be a glitch at some point. on a separate note has anyone read on the BBC sports website about the Welsh rugby player Tyler Morgan, who after his type 1 diagnosis who is the new national squad, after a lot of injuries prior to diagnosis, he was officially told he had type 1 and his playing has improved dramatically and he has managed to stay injury free, he says that it is difficult to manage but it won't affect his playing, I think its a positive message for all diabetics.

Take care everyone

Good morning all - bit of a restless night but not as bad as a fair few of you who were up at silly o clock!
4.6 bg
Off in a few mins for my blood draw and flu jab. Done usual 14 hour water fast for in case they are planning full lipids she didnt make it clear when had lipids panel in August just but as it’s my standard 6 monthly diabetic check it’s possible.
@Debandez good work moving forward - Bet you really woke them up! Can see why it was going round in your head there’s a long distance between the widely accepted view and ours!
Hope everyone has a good day.

@LeftPeg that shows what you are doing is working so fantastic news. @shelley262 hope , nay fully expect, all test results to be exemplary. Didn't you get the memo? We are in the brave new Trumpian world where sleep is for wimps:angelic:

Morning all. A shocking 9.7 at 8am but not an accurate reading as I was eating a light breakfast whilst testing and before taking Gliclazide! Also a restless night and anxious about my early dental appointment. Must rush! Have a good day one and all.:)

Hello there. Sorry for the very late posting. No fasting test this morning as I was away from home and had to rush out early to travel back to mum to take her for an appointment. Busy day tomorrow too as I have an early dental appointment ( complicated broken tooth) then voluntary work followed by a hospital visit for a repeat scan & biopsy after lunch. Feeling anxious about the dentists as I haven't been for ages following a problem with my jaw :nailbiting:. I've had many medical tests and treatments over the years including some not so pleasant ones and have always faced them with dignity but have never overcome my fear of dentists! Good night all and have a good day tomorrow :)
Good luck.

I never get offended :-) thank you so much for your offer that's very kind. My daughter helped me put together the inspirational.stories booklet currently winging its way to various gp surgeries and it looks fab so I'm probably going to ask her to help. Not even sure what I'm going to write yet but once I start I know it will flow!

I wanted to post my idea here first to get valued opinions from fellow diabetics. Then post shortly to my social media site. I may invite my local Gazette in January (in the hope they may want to do an update on my last article) but will get my hubby to take pics and get the word out there.

Any ideas welcomed. Thanks again.

Good morning- another busy one.
Not much time for chat but two happy news reports:
In my last proper training run before my 15 mile /24km race on Sunday I did 12km last night in under an hour. The first 10k was my fastest 10k for 5 years. Very happy with that time. Just need to stay loose til Sunday.
This morning I am 5.6. Lower than yesterday and 2 in a row in the 5s. A bit of focus and better control is returning.
Have a great day all.
