Hi Jim, do you bias fat or protein.
Fat. I’ve typically found that excess protein has a tendency to raise my fasting numbers slightly.
Hi Jim, do you bias fat or protein.
I love the idea that you are fully involved in what your daughters are interested in and am fully aware of the influence? of "personalities" It was never a big deal for me - could take or leave Beatles etc and have no idea who film stars or models were/are. I think follow the money is a good maxim - if they (vloggers/influencers) are millionaires someone else is making even more IMHO. To bring it back somewhere near this thread it is really fortuitous that as fat and dairy consumption was declining US farming was helped by LCHF - amazing coincidence. Also happened at the same time as one could pick one's own truths and change them daily. There is another world out the which younger persons participate in, "we" take our daughters to an event called Upload at Tabacco Dock, Wapping London. Young persons are as excited to see these YouTubers as equivalent Beatle mania and the like. These YouTubers are millionaires with huge followers - politicians beware.
What do you mean? The earth's not flat!!!!!I wonder how many of them are also flat earthers?
Thanks for the info. I like data which can help with choices I make.Fat. I’ve typically found that excess protein has a tendency to raise my fasting numbers slightly.
Probably. Just tested now, after a slice of my bread, toasted and being blown down the coast for an hour.Hmmmm
Possibly liver dump?
Hi @Mbaker Protein is insulinogenic and can convert to glucose.Fat. I’ve typically found that excess protein has a tendency to raise my fasting numbers slightly.
Great pics and one assumes a really enjoyable day spent partly outside and with friends. Win, win.7.6 this morning, which is good. Had a great day out with the morris yesterday, tiring with this cardiomyopathy, but good to get a change of air and to meet up with friends. Had a late lunch in the pub and could not resist the onion rings. Fortunately there was only three of them. Nice though. As requested here are a few pix including one of me having my headdress adjusted when I was in full costume.
Hope everyone has a lovely day today. Off out to the shops in a while. Chicken for dinner tonight.

It was a bit chilly, but certainly blew away the cobwebs. Next gig in a couple of weeks time, but that is indoors with a fantastic buffet! About 8 or 9 sides attend - great chance to catch up after not seeing each other for a while over the winter.Great pics and one assumes a really enjoyable day spent partly outside and with friends. Win, win.
I think not no I know it isn't.What do you mean? The earth's not flat!!!!!
Trouble is, in lots of cases it is like knowing how Mo Farah trains. That is **gger all use to me but your mileage may varyI'm loving all this info on how people do things .. .
Aint no doubt in my mind that there aint a one way to fit all but I am inspired by those whoo look like they have found a way that works for them. I thought I had it all figured out about 2 years ago when I could keep my daily levels in the low fives and have an occasional 4. Now a couple of years later and being more carb conscious, ie eating less carbs than ever I usually wake to high 5's and during the day stay in the low 6's dropping to 5's after supper at 7-8 pm. ....Trouble is, knowing how Mo Farah trains is **gger all use to me but your mileage may vary![]()

Well doneGood morning all,
It is snowing here again so more shovelling. This is usually the worst of winter (Jan, Feb) and we were spoiled with no snow in Dec and mild temperatures.
4.7 this morning for me. I managed to get the same drop of blood on 2 different strips from 2 different tubs and got the same reading. So my strips seem to be good, no explanation for yesterday's weird readings.
Also got good news on weight loss, despite having a cold (which fortunately didn't last long).
I'm down another 2.8 lbs (1.3 kg).
giving me a total loss of 84.39 lbs (38kg or 6 stone .39) so far, more than 30% off of my original weight.
I've lost another 1.25" off my waist (don't check every week for this one) for a total of 11" lost so far. I managed to get into a size 14 pants this week (still a little tight). I remember dieting at age 29 before my wedding 33 years ago. I only got into a size 14 wedding dress because I had kidney surgery 6 weeks before my wedding.
....and quite a rarity , which I for one appreciate...Speaking only for myself, being an engineer I just have to understand stuff!
I’m no luminary of course, but I do feel that having that innate curiosity has probably saved my life or certainly lengthened it considerably. We are all different and no one can be expected be an expert in every little detail. That’s why communities such as this are so useful - because they’re a pool of knowledge![]()
