What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

4.3 at 6AM and 5.3 just now, nearly 36 hours into fasting. Overnight average is 5.1 and almost a flatline. I will be extending my fast till tomorrow morning to balance the higher average of 6.9 from yesterday... the 60 hours fasting was anyway a bit overdue now. :)

Have a wonderful day everyone.

Oh my. I just spent some time reading your history. Nasty diabetes experiences. And here’s me, grumbling about being stuck above 7.

I’m all over the place! How was yours this morning?

I didn’t manage a single result under 12 yesterday despite 5 corrections totalling 19 units of Novorapid and 32 units of Semglee. I’ve reduced my insulin sensitivity from 1.2 to 1. Basal obviously still isn’t right so keep upping it every couple of days. Keep reminding myself I’m only 7 weeks in but I think I’m going to end up needing quite a lot more insulin :arghh:

This mornings a weird one. I haven’t eaten yet

8am - 10.2, 5 unit correction
9am - 12.3, 2 unit correction
10am - 12.1, another 2 unit correction.

Continuation of dawn phenomenon or is my insulin actually making it worse?! :shifty:

have you tried changing your insulin pen/vial as sometimes you get a faulty one x

A good point. The same thing happened to a lesser extent yesterday (same upwards trend) but I have a new pen this morning. Hopefully it’s not a bad batch! I normally have pretty pronounced dawn phenomenon, prior to starting insulin I would have to eat something as soon as I woke up or I’d continue to rise until lunch time. I’m not a breakfast person though so the specialist suggested correcting with Novorapid instead.

For me, this morning, an excellent 7.6. However, I had had two delicious slices of my sister’s chocolate cake and Bulgar with my aubergine last night, 11.1 Post cake and then 8.9 at bedtime. But now, 1:45, I’m 6.2. I’ve gotta think, somehow, I’m usefully compressing the Glucose numbers.

@MissyLA33, I really feel for youse. Keep it up and get some professional input.

Just made tonight’s supper: Aubergine, Mushrooms, Spring Onions and fresh Coriander, being lightly fried over in olive oil and then slow simmered in can Tom’s and purée. I’ll tell youse my numbers tomorrow morning.
