What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

9.1! I think that is my highest ever fasting level. seconds later, different meter 8.0, and after another hour, still fasting, 5.7.
Have been following IF as in the Zoe reasearch. https://joinzoe.com/learn/covid-the-big-if-study reduced eating window to 6-7 hours most days. I don’t think I am a good advertisement for it.
Waiting for effect of steroids to settle, then will whack on a CGM , see if I can tolerate that and get some insight.
Never give up, never give in.

Morning All. Same as @mojo37 7.2 and thanks for comment on A1c. Really don’t understand how it all works after 5 years. @Pipp virtual hug lots going on and it will get better. Same message to @ianpspurs never give in! Happy Saturday all.
Off thread but thanks @PenguinMum . LC food, apart from salad and tea *, is the worst part of all this. Goose tomorrow no 40 day fast (Quadragesima Sancti Martini) for me although avoiding LC food would be so good, so good, so good eh, Caroline?. IF at least cuts the horror to 6-8 hrs.
*rediscovered LC hot chocolate - that works.

7.4 this morning - something I ate yesterday. I think its the salted peanuts I had yesterday perhaps. Cannot put it down to any thing else I have eaten.
Penuts , as legumes are somewhat more carby than almonds and walnuts etc. So you could be right.
I had a slightly better 7.6 start today. Trying to remain optimistic, of pending improvement.

7.1 this morning . Bed on 7.0 disheartening as only had 2 meals yesterday and were keto recipes I've eaten before. :banghead:
Stick with it.
I had a couple of slices of sourdough bread a couple of months back and was quite shocked at the time that it took five days of strict keto to get numbers back on track (both glucose and ketones).
Some people respond really quickly but for others not so much. Don't be disheartened, just may take a wee while longer. x
