What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Do you ever find thinking aloud gets you into trouble, @mist? LOL :joyful::joyful::joyful:

Yes, but I don't care! :D

It was a bit concerning. They melt surprisingly quickly though, much to my relief. It's not the first time I've had things stuck in my mouth!

No wait..erm, I'm going to stop talking! :joyful:

It was a Pringle :D
When I first moved to Oz 39 years ago from UK we didn't used to get Cadbury eggs here. My husband at the time used to fly with Qantas and was in UK frequently. Just before Easter I asked him to get me one (along with the usual packet of cheese and onion crisps which was pretty battered by the time he got home). When he came home and produced said egg I said, 'blimey, they've shrunk since I last had one; if I'd known that I'd have asked you to get two' ... he then proceeded to get a box of 48 Cadbury Crème Eggs out of his suitcase. And you're right, they do melt .. I'd just had my wisdom teeth out and managed quite nicely .. ate two a day til they were gone :-)

@PenfoldAPD fabulous menu! I'm hungry again now.

@Lesleywo do you remember, or did you have the toffee sauce with icecream? Delicious
Pomegranate Mo ... Gypsy Tart was a pastry shell with a toffee flavour filling. think heating a can of evaporated/condensed milk til it turns brown. Gypsy Tart, Jam Tart and Chocolate Cracknel were my favourites ....and all those rice puddings/sago, tapioca? Yuck! (except I liked the dollop of raspberry jam in the middle) :-)

Today will be

Breakfast: Eggs and Bacon

Lunch: Nothing - or an avocado

Dinner: Mr C's favourite cold dinner - several different cheeses, parma ham and other cold meats, hummus, taramasalata, cream cheese stuffed little chilli peppers, pickled garlic, olives.... and a Lidl protein roll - I'm not saying I'll eat ALL of it...... :) :)

Glass or two of wine (to help with this streaming cold ;)

yesterday

breakfast - porridge made with water and finished with a splash of almond milk and some ground flaxseed
lunch - cabbage braised with garlic, sliced leek, red pepper and some chicken bits, finished with a knob of butter
dinner - haddock ( dusted rather than crumbed ) with lots of broccoli and a spoonful of peas.

Babybel cheese for breakfast

Corned beef quiche plus salad and full fat Mayo for lunch

Going to attempt Fathead Pizza for tea

Lidl roll for supper didn't stop FBG being high this morning so going to see what happens without it

Still inconclusive on the morning coffee. Went up from 7.2 fasting to 7. 5 pre breakfast with no morning coffee on its own. Will get the right picture next week once school is back.
B. 2 scrambled eggs with parsley and 2 rashers of crispy bacon and my delayed coffee with a dash of cream.
L. Nothing - going out tonight
D. Thai meal with 25 others ( triple birthday for brother's 70th, sis in law 74th and brother's eldest daughter 43rd). Will have nibbles of Veggie and squid to start (and drool over their chicken toast) then Choo Chee prawn (red curry and coconut milk) and sea bass and a bit of the weeping tiger (not whole portions - we pick at different items). Taking in cauliflower rice. Probably more than a few white wines as well.

Hello
B. Red berries with Greek yoghurt

L. Bacon and 2 fried eggs

D. 3 scallops. Grilled sirloin with Dianne sauce and tomato and onion salad. :)

B: left over DietDoc frittata - delicious, but I took @Chook 's advice and cut the butter and mayo right down. worked out about right, I think. That is the last DD food until Friday night.
Late L: 2 tacos with guacamole, cheese, sour cream and a little pulled pork in too sweet a sauce. Very nice, but the tacos gave me the highest reading I have had for 3 weeks. Lesson learned. Followed by 8oz steak, mushroom, peppers, grilled tomato. Gave the onion rings to Mr B and left the chips.
D: definitely not needed!

Off to stay with relatives tomorrow, where I have no control over the kitchen. Should be interesting.
I have nuts, dark choc and chia bars in my bag, and have put in a polite request for cheese and ham in the fridge.
Am also taking some local butcher's fab gluten free sausages - they are delicious.
And a low carb apple crumble cake
and a small lake of double cream

Here is the cake recipe. very easy, and very good.

Todays menu seemed to agree with mu sugar levels

B. Greek yogurt with 1 tbsp Flaxseeds and small amount of blueberries and 3 strawberries and tea and some left oher roast chicken

L. Lidl protein roll with 2 boiled eggs with butter and some philadelphia on the roll

Some dark chocolate

D. Chicken broccoli cheese butter then dessert was berries 12 g or so dark chocolate chunks and a nice pile of whipped cream

Breakfast: bacon and eggs

Lunch: Nothing (still full from breakfast)

Dinner: Roast Lamb, small amount of roast parsnip, small amount butter sauteed carrots, steamed broccoli, cauliflower and - maybe - a tablespoon of broad beans. I love broad beans but don't often have them.

Supper / Dessert: Fresh raspberries (aren't they expensive at the moment!)

Breakfast was two slices of cold pepperoni fathead pizza - took BG to 9.7 after 2 hrs (from 8.0) - learnt a lesson there!

Lunch - homemade broccoli and Stilton soup plus a sugar free jelly with full fat yogurt and slug of double cream

Tea will be baked camembert with walnuts and stir fried savoy cabbage

May try the Lidl roll with smoked salmon and avocado mid evening as still trying to sort out middle of the night BG rise

Ignoring BG today - was out last night and was naughty and had a small piece of birthday cake after the meal. That plus a few glasses of wine left me a bit fragile.
B/L 2 scrambled eggs with parsley and 3 rashers of crispy bacon- water and lots of it!
D. Will be 3 scallops - saw James Martin do this during the week. Scallops are cooked with shallots, garlic, chorizo, butter, chopped tomato , white wine, basil and about 1/2 a jar of these large Spanish butter beans.
Rib eye steak with aubergine chips and mushrooms.
No wine or campari today - water will be fine!
