What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Another fasting day today. Always harder when I'm at work.

Breakfast - none

Lunch - none

Dinner - GBK burger patty (now being sold in Waitrose and zero carb) topped with a slice of melted smoked cheese, served with buttered broccoli and cauliflower; 10 raspberries and cream, 2 squares Lindt 90%

Drinks - 1 mug tea with cream, 1 mug tea with milk (must start storing cream in the fridge at work), 1 Diet Coke, 1.5 litres water

A triumphal day today

B: none
L: 2 gf crispbreads with butter and marmite (5.9g carbs ea, i think)
D: homemade chicken thigh curry with celeriac, carrot, onion, red and yellow peppers in a garam masala sauce, over broccoli instead of rice.

So, why triumphal?
Firstly, i had 25 mins from first chop to serving, because Mr B is out tonight.
Secondly, i think i may have used every single outstanding veg ingredient, before tomorrow's delivery.
Thirdly, i have covered every surface and used nearly utensil.
- oh, and it tasted OK :D

Don't know what is going on today. Bed on 6.8 FBG 7.8 and pre breakfast was 8.4. Had a restless night again so will see how it goes.
B/L courgetti sandwich. Haven't had one of these for ages. Mix of courgetti, almond flour, beaten egg , salt and pepper. Fry 2 mounds (shape into bread shapes). Fry one side of each 'slice' , turn then add grated cheese to one side and a slice of ham. Top with the other half once it is cooked and serve. A mere 5g carbs for a fried cheese and ham sandwich.
D. More of yesterday's fish pie topped with the better than potato cauliflower mash.

Slight edit. Encouraged by @Goonergal I made up a batch of chocolate chia pudding with sugar free cocoa and had some with 2 strawberries and 2 bits of Lindt 90%. It was good.

B: 1 slice toasted cheese/ 1/2 glass full milk.
L: Egg & Cress sandwich.
D: Bacon, egg and 1 tablespoon baked beans.
Snacks: Cube of Wensleydale cheese. Few walnuts with plain Greek yoghurt
Drinks: Black tea/ plain water

Woke up around 0600. At work around 0715. About 1030 I ate a Greek salad with a few slices on chopped bacon on top.
At about 1800 I had a small bone in lamb chop and another salad with a side of olives/pickles. Red wine. A few square of 90 percent dark chocolate for desert.

Take care everyone.

All this talk of marrows between you and @Goonergal keeps making me think of the late Anne Kirkbride (or rather Dierdre Barlow of Corrie). Her star dish!

BGs still sitting a bit high. Bed on 6.8 FBG 7.1 and pre breakfast was also 7.1. Trouble was it continued to rise and hit 9.1 before it turned. Dropping quicker today though.
B. Slice of Hovis low carb seeded with lurpack and pate pate the tasty salmon one.
L. 6 chicken wings with sour cream and chive
D. Spicy pork ribs with coleslaw. Have to have chocolate chia pudding with a couple of strawberries.

The last time I watched Corrie it was in black and white with Ena Sharples.... circa 1965??

I've totally ignored marrow for years thinking I wouldn't like it (don't know why) until one of my 'courgette' plants in the garden turned out to be a marrow plant and grew some beauties. So (waste not / want not) I baked one - scooping out seeds and ground pepper and a sprinkle of salt over before baking for 75 mins then turn upside down to get rid of the liquid and bake for another 5 minutes) and, HUGE SURPRISE, it is a very, very acceptable replacement for a jacket potato! I've now used up all the ones from the garden so will have to start buying them. Mr Chook had a half a one the other day with cheese and baked beans and he loved it, too. :) I am really hoping that the shop bought are as nice as my home grown.

Marrow makes a mighty fine curry and some good curried pickles too

That sounds like a great idea. I wish there was a way to save individual posts to make coming back to them easier.

Well I might have discovered the answer to making fasting at work easier - took some cream to store in the fridge for my tea instead of the semi-skimmed milk they order in and found myself fuller than usual.

Breakfast - none.

Lunch - hadn't planned to fast - and now trying to make sure that I balance fasting days with non-fasting days - so carried on with lunch even though I could easily have skipped it. Went for a small mixed lamb and chicken doner kebab (no bread) with salad. Couldn't eat it all.

Dinner - had planned sea bass fillet and veg but still very full from lunch so may not need it. Will see how it goes.

Drinks - 2.5 mugs tea with cream (got distracted at work so half of one mug went cold), 2 Diet Cokes, about 1.5 litres water.

I will definitely try the narrow curry - but how do you make the curried pickles? I love pickles and I love curry. :)

I may have to start calling some of you Deirdre. I too watched Corrie while it was still black & white and I remember Ena well together with Minnie Caldwell and Martha Longhurt who died in the snug of the Rovers. I've always been a Corrie watcher (even when the storyline gets a bit annoying). Dierdre's stuffed marrow signature dish was infamous! They never ever gave away what she stuffed it with.
Must have a look at some recipes.
PS I even had specs like Dierdre at one point.
