I’m sure you are very healthy @ianpspurs at your bmi -maybe this is not one to worry about as you are clearly in the good range? Have you checked out your waist to hip ratio? My belief is that for us metabolically challenged good folk this is more crucial as it’s about visceral fat which as you know is the enemy. Check that one out - if you already haven’t!Lost 1 pound since last week and body fat currently under 18% with BMI of 22.2 so only waist to height ratio to go. For a long time I have thought I was obese according to WHO and waist to height ratio - mine is .5! Just looked on Wikipedia and found out "for people over 50 the critical values start at 0.6" Not feeling safe with that but finding it nigh on impossible to get under .5!
Not good for me I still need to reduce my waist size to fall into less than don't plan anything long term range! That is exactly 1 so I am doomed i tell ya!I’m sure you are very healthy @ianpspurs at your bmi -maybe this is not one to worry about as you are clearly in the good range? @Goonergal well done and congratulations- your hard work has def paid off . You're nearly down to me - are you planning to meet me at 59kg? I’m 9 stone 4 now - slowly slipped a couple more pounds while finding my balance but really don’t want to go lower how about you?
Introduced breakfast over past couple of weeks and thankfully weight loss is slowing - I’m happy where I am now as I’m 5 foot six and my bones are visible so know I’m right for me. I’d like to stay at 59kg but that gives me a couple of pounds slippage as teetering on 58kg at moment.
Hope all logging in this morning on good Friday have good results they’re happy with and a happy Easter weekend - did anyone say chocolates? What would we do without high percentage cocoa choc?

@shelley262 Thanks for the hug! I think I have relied too heavily on just losing weight and cardio - very sceptical of targeting one area for exercise. However, back in the day I used to do at least 3 sets per day of 150+ inclined sit ups and it definitely worked. Seems a bit obvious but may put my mind at rest as I think I am reaching lower end of weight loss.

Thank you @Goonergal it’s odd the bones thing isn’t it? I also now notice my aorta beating first time I felt it thought was having dangerous palpitations but calmed down when realised it was just a steady pulse in my middle that had been enrobed in fat before! Thanks. You’re a bit taller than me. My target is 57kgs but so want to decrease waist and hip size.
Definitely notice my bones, especially when trying to sleep- used to having a lot more cushioning!
You’re doing great- it’s pretty normal to go up and down a couple of pounds here and there.
Sounds a possibility - ab crunch and weighted squats etc always sounds more manly but lots of football and rugby squads now do Pilates. I think I read too many targeted/ isolated doesn't work articles at the start and ignored my own history and common sense!hi @ianpsspurs how about Pilates exercises? I credit Pilates with my small waist I go to class once a week but then do a few mins abdominal Pilates work a few time a week worth a look? It targets the core and the middle.....
OK we swap envy - I can't get fbg where I want it so won't post it for a few days as I am seething! Also. it seems to count for nothing against other metrics but I do like a target to chaseI have body fat percentage envy.
Really wish I had taken all my body measurements right at the start.
Ok another suggestion as it’s holidays and you’re “seething” do you get stressed about your bgs? I’m a serious sufferer from stress and anxiety put it down to years of being a carer. I found only way to drop more was to do mindfulness alongside my Pilates! Not sure it’s manly enough but you may find using an app such as Headspace for just a few mins a day helps to work the magic. You may have lots of cortisol going around your system with hard routines that stress the body a bit. If have a high bg because of stress I find if do extra Headspace session it brings it right down. Headspace also has lots of sporty oriented sessions to improve competition and performance which may appeal to you? Would recommend you try.OK we swap envy - I can't get fbg where I want it so won't post it for a few days as I am seething! That's great news @Goonergal. Well done.Morning all.
Well the zero carbing (with one or two aberrations) seems to have worked, first proper weight loss in a number of weeks - down 0.8kg (1.8 lbs), taking me to exactly 60kg and giving me a 90 pound overall weight loss. And a full percentage point reduction in body fat.
Very happy with that.
How many weeks on lchf without a loss? I never lost on lchf but only low carb careful fat. Low fat with low carb is very restrictive but can get some people started on weight loss, whose who've never lost due to multiple health conditions and even meds which are needed which add weight. Like me.No weight loss this week again, staying on track with lchf diet
