What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Whoops - didn’t mean to send those then!

Was intending to add that I too hate peeling and slicing celeriac, but it’s easier than swede!
I get my Hubby to peel and slice. I wished it on my son once when we were going to their house and was told never to ask him to cook it again!

@Brunneria still laughing at the atomic buffalo turds. They sound good though.

@DJC3 hope you got the results you wanted.

@maglil55 I still have some of the sew on labels from when I was at school!!

Another OMAD day. Almost no hunger pangs today, which is surprising as I had to eat a post dinner snack last night as I was hungry.

Dinner today was 2 Waitrose free range Cumberland sausages, 2 rashers bacon and a Birds Eye burger followed by lazy mousse (2 Hotel Chocolat 100% buttons melted with extra thick double cream mixed in.

Off to Pilates shortly.

Hi all hope everyone had a good day. Puppy minding went well getting very fond of him -
another day tomorrow.
Breakfast one slice of low carb bread and boiled egg with black coffee with inulin
Lunch cold boiled egg with some nuts and one slice low carb lemon drizzle cake
Afternoon two pots of green tea brewed with loose green tea leaves and added sprigs of mint from garden - preferred it to plain green tea
Dinner chicken salad with celeriac chips followed by one home grown strawberry with sugar free jelly and two teaspoons single cream plus one small glass of red wine (trying daily small glass heard it can help cholesterol!)

Another day trying to grow hair on a billiard ball aka trying to gain some control of what my body wants to do with my efforts of diet and exercise. Tried food fasting today and hopefully tomorrow. Not hopeful of results but if you don't buy a ticket you can't win the lottery:banghead: Menu for the day:

B: 2 pints tea with h/m almond milk
MMS: 2 pints tea with h/m almond milk
L: Iced French Vanilla coffee with double cream
MAS: 2 pints water; Iced French vanilla coffee with h/m almond milk
D: Bone broth with cider vinegar; water
Bought some of these yesterday and checked macros today so reassured on carbs. Will try some eventually when my body and I are on speaking terms.

One home grown strawberry? I bet it was delicious, better than a whole punnet from the supermarket.

Everyone had one each we are good sharers here! More to ripen though it’s a good year for strawberries and raspberries look promising too for later in season.

We used to have a fig tree when I was little, wasn’t very fruitful and I remember my mum carefully cutting a fig, (the sum total of that year’s crop) into 4 so we could each have a taste. It was wonderful.

Fasting blood test first thing, then popped into Pret for a coffee on my way back - it was ‘on the house’ that’s the second time Ive had a free coffee in Pret. I’m hoping it’s a good omen.
B: coconut porridge with 2 strawberries.
L: leftover celeriac dauphinoise with a M&S Aberdeen Angus burger which really should have been eaten a couple of days ago. No ill effects yet. A bit of Roquefort cheese on top. Greek yoghurt and 5 raspberries to follow, and more coffee.

Glass of red wine
D: salmon fillet, lettuce, green beans, avocado, olives, boiled egg and dressing made from olive oil and apple cider vinegar.
Had a sort of fancy lazy mousse afterwards - 2 melted HC buttons, dollop of extra thick cream and a spoonful of raspberry chia jam on top. Lovely.

Hope the fasting brings you the desired results @ianpspurs

@DJC3 Hope the blood tests are everything you deserve and the menu sounds very tasty. The fasting is more of a "can't be any worse" ploy than an attempt at anything in particular. As they say, ee I am vexed. I forgot to say earlier the bone broth from my instant pot was rather spiffing.

Hello everyone, bit later posting tonight as I’ve been for my monthly treat of a pedicure and facial.
Another day of nice low numbers :)
B- cheese, hard boiled egg and some spinach
L- salad with sliced roast chicken
Afternoon treat of a small slice of choc cake
D- repeat of lunch with addition of some feta followed by a second little slice of cake with some cream

Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries and cream washed down with a black coffee
Lunch: 2 x scrambled eggs on Hilo toast followed by Greek yoghurt and raspberries.
Mid afternoon: PhD bar and black coffee.
Dinner: chicken and mushroom stir fry followed by LC baked custard

I had a bumper crop coming on until I decided to leave the polytunnel doors open overnight... I now have a frame with nothing but straw in it!

Hi all puppy time again today will miss him next week or so but have work conference commitment - presenting and doing a stand as a carer consultant next Tuesday and Wednesday. Will have to prepare food to take as well as presentations etc! Meals are part of the conference and would expect that won’t be lots of choice - will see. Cutting the celebration cake is part of the event marking the number of years the organisation has been around and it won’t be low carb!
Breakfast one slice of low carb bread and boiled egg with black coffee with inulin
Lunch chicken leg and a few nuts followed by slice lemon drizzle
Pot of green tea with mint
Dinner trout served on bed of cabbage cooked with seeds in olive oil with small amount of lemon butter and small glass of red wine. Followed by no sugar lemon and lime jelly with one home grown strawberry and small amount single cream.

Hi all. Long standing lunch appointment with a colleague today so run of OMAD days ended. Was v hungry so probably would have eaten anyway.

Lunch was tzaziki, a spoon full of something else yogurt based (brought as part of complementary starters) which tasted very sweet, so abandoned, 1 skewer lamb shish, 1 skewer of kofte and salad.

Dinner was bunless cheeseburger at Five Guys with lettuce, tomato, onions and mayo.

Good evening all. Two unexpected visitors today made for a nice day and the food fast passed quickly. Just now at 48 hours I am feeling good and may now try for 72 hours. It follows that today's menu will be sparse but I am really enjoying the bone broth well laced with cider vinegar. Menu as such below:

B: 2 pints tea with h/m almond milk
MMS: French Vanilla coffee with double cream
L: 2 pints tea with almond milk
MAS: 2 pints tea with almond milk
D: Bone broth with cider vinegar; water

Evening everyone.
Still rejoicing re latest HbA1c result: 39 ( sorry if you’ve already seen this in my fasting glucose post, but feeling too chuffed to shut up about it yet)
I’m happy with it coming down fairly slowly as I think Ive found a regime that works for me and I don’t mind if it takes a bit longer this way.
I struggle with fasting which would probably see numbers falling quicker, plus I don’t want to lose weight (I’m 55kg) so I think Ive found a happy medium, I’m enjoying life!
Thanks to everyone on this thread in particular who have inspired and advised.

Todays grub...
B: coconut porridge with 2strawberries and a spoonful of cream.
L: salmon fillet with salad of leaves, avocado, olives and a boiled egg with h/m French dressing
Mis aft: Adonis Brownie ( just because I wanted to check effect on bg more than being hungry)
D: chicken breast stuffed with 1/2 a M&S 97% sausage and wrapped in bacon. Cabbage cooked in butter and cauli cheese.
Strawberry, cream, melted 100% choc for pud.

Evening everyone.

Wow @DJC3 how well done is that so pleasedfor you especially as you’ve been concerned over some higher figures - told you “it would come out in the wash” and it has - your steady LCHF eating is clearly working. A well earnt good result and as you say it will keep steadily reducing. Your happy medium too is perfect I love that you’re enjoying life too - that’s the most important thing. Your menus too always look delish. Celebrate your well earnt result well done again and please accept a well done hug from me Xxx

Hello everyone,
