Morning everyone feeling awful this morning I think I might have a chest infection as I’m coughing, lost my appetite, walking any distance makes me out of breath and my lung function is down. Also I’m not sure what to do to prevent nighttime hypos (due to eating very little) I tried drinking Coke but after a few hours I was back in the low 4.0s so I ended up drinking the full bottle of Coke over the course of the night (375mls) anyway I hope you all have a good day
Do you carb count, if you're not eating you need to reduce the amount of insulin you take, night time hypos could mean you need to reduce the basek insulin, hope you feel better soon.

I chucked out my balsamic only apple cider vinegar in house now or use a bit of lemon juice I reacted to it as did @DJC3 i seem to remember? Mind you poor sleep is also a trigger for me too! Or it could just be the fbg lottery in action again!

Yes I did, took your advice and chucked it out too. Shame, I liked it, but just not worth it in the end.

Sorry to hear this- are you getting some help? Chest infections need medical attention.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and all non foot the ball fans.....

A slightly high 10.20 for me this morning, my fault, I lost control during working on transferring files of a hard disc to the new computer, this really is a right and left pain in the rectum.
Well folks it's almost mid August and the media is just getting into their fantasy stride. Have a good day all.

Morning all. 6.5 at 9.30 am today. Not bad considering we are eating out a lot due to USA visitors but getting a lot more exercise than of late so that must be helping. Have a good day one and all.:)

Good morning all. 5.6 today. Mild here, but threatening rain. Long walk on the cards for me. Planning a trip to the docs to get an update on my lab results. But may ask for a fasting c-peptide, to try to understand what my pancreas is doing. Keen to keep my BG low for a few months to shake off an infection i have. May ask to change my meds, although not warranted my my pre-diabetics numbers.

@ianpspurs, I use MyNetDiary for my diet. It covers sat fat, unsat and trans fat. Also 3 different ways of measuring carbs. I use the “diabetes version” which allows you to track BG as well as BP, steps .....and many measurements. I like it, it works for me.

@Ziggy2017, I agree with Alf, sounds like an infection and a visit to a doctor is a good idea. If there are any nurses (or doctors) in your family, it can be useful to have a chat also. They probably know the best doctors in a given field, and may be able to suggest something else useful. I hope you get some answers.

I will never chuck out my Balsamic Vinegar I like it too much.

"Balsamic vinegar helps regulate blood sugar when eaten as part of a meal.

One review that examined the scientific effects of vinegar found that balsamic vinegar has an antiglycemic impact when consumed, meaning a person's blood sugar will spike less drastically after a meal.

The review indicated that vinegar could help create a blood sugar plateau for a period of up to 5 hours following a meal."

Though some of the cheaper versions do have added sugar and I would avoid them.

https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/321906.php

"For more than 2000 years, vinegar has been used to flavor and preserve foods, heal wounds, fight infections, clean surfaces, and manage diabetes. Although vinegar is highly valued as a culinary agent, some varieties costing $100 per bottle, much scrutiny surrounds its medicinal use. Scientific investigations do not support the use of vinegar as an anti-infective agent, either topically or orally. Evidence linking vinegar use to reduced risk for hypertension and cancer is equivocal. However, many recent scientific investigations have documented that vinegar ingestion reduces the glucose response to a carbohydrate load in healthy adults and in individuals with diabetes. There is also some evidence that vinegar ingestion increases short-term satiety. Future investigations are needed to delineate the mechanism by which vinegar alters postprandial glycemia and to determine whether regular vinegar ingestion favorably influences glycemic control as indicated by reductions in hemoglobin A1c. Vinegar is widely available; it is affordable; and, as a remedy, it is appealing. But whether vinegar is a useful adjunct therapy for individuals with diabetes or prediabetes has yet to be determined."

Hi @Canvaspic i have been to the drs he thinks it’s a chest infection so gave me an antibiotic if my chest hasn’t cleared in a few days I have to come back and will most likely be sent to A&E as it could also be my lungs rejecting (I had a lung transplant) my mum also rang the drs in Newcastle (transplant specialists) and they said not to take the antibiotic and get a spit sample sent to the drs they told my mum they’d ring back this afternoon if I’ve to come over for any tests etc

,
Without test results the diagnosis of rejection is premature in my opinion. Good luck
