What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Bed 6.2 FBG 5.5. Sounds ok but it sure isn't. Still fluctuating wildly. Worst today was 9.1 but that was a swing from 3.6! I feel awful. Didn't attempt aqua today although the steam in the pool would have helped. Hot shower coming up soon.
B. Tassimo Americano grande with a dash of cream.
L. Hubby made me a lo dough toastie with ham and cheese.
Breyers choc ice (cool on the throat) and loads of icy water and paracetamol.
D. Couple of air fried chicken thighs and more icy water.
Hope I feel better tomorrow as the in laws are visiting on Sunday.

Breakfast: overnight oats (made with coconut milk, desiccated coconut and chia seeds) blueberries, raspberries and nuts. Tea.

Morning snack: Atkins bar

Lunch: (out with friend but managed) eggy sourdough bread, bacon and avocado (Boston Tea Party) coffee with cream

Afternoon snack: bought myself a huge bag ofsnack sized cheese portions so has a few assorted ones

Dinner: steak and mushrooms in garlic butter with salad. SF jelly with a spoonful of halo top and double cream

Good evening folks - begins to be far too autumn for my liking but some may like this. Mrs P faces disciplinary action for being late on parade this afternoon so not everything promised turned up. She did make some chicken liver pate with thyme butter and some flaxseed crispbread but no CCBs - poor show IMHO. She tried to make up for this offence by making my evening meal but rules is rules - disciplinary tomorrow am when she eventually arises:angelic:
Breakfast: 2 X 1.5 pints tea with almond milk
Mid morning snack: Filter coffee with double cream - somewhere before lunch 3 flaxseed crispbreads and butter
Lunch: Tea; Avocado; egg mayo (all our own eggs); 2 spring onions; cucumber; radish; ⅔ CCB; 2 X 1,5 mugs tea with almond milk
Afternoon snack: None
Evening meal : Mackerel and avocado salad - tin of mackerel in olive oil; olive oil and acv vinaigrette dressing with psyllium husk powder ; pea shoots and edible flowers plus normal boring salad gubbins; chia seed topping; Tea just for a change

Hi all back home from my jollies lovely time especially the jersey boys
Breakfast little cafe and a bit complex they struggled with not doing standard breakfast and tried to give me toast, hash brown, beans etc etc so had to explain again - eventually simple bacon and egg arrived!
Lunch picnic cheese and ham rollitos from m and s and lc flapjack
Dinner at home large cheese and ham omlette and salad ( my purple tomatoes are just starting to ripen and are delicious but not too sweet) glass red wine followed by raspberry clafoutis and yoghurt.
So pleased you enjoyed the theatre and your jollies x

I actually wasn't aware they were gender specific, but my OH (who is main chef in this hacienda) always prefers 4-lobed peppers, where there is a choice, as they're usually sweeter, according to him. Now, I can tell him it's because they're lady peppers.

Not altogether sure he'll be impressed by that little nugget. :)

Are you still always following recipes, or are you starting to lob stuff into the cauldron and just seeing what comes out?

One of my jobs in the coming days is probably to do another batch of tomato onion masala, as a curry base: https://joshicooks.com/onion-tomato-masala-2/ There are others online, utilising fewer ingredients, but this one, in my view, has good depth of flavour. It makes c24 portions, so in our 2 person household, a batch, frozen in aluminium takeaway containers, lasts a while, and the containers (10 for £1 in Poundstretcher) just go out when used.

You are an absolute star thank you!
I love curry but most of the IP recipes Ive found have been from American websites, where I dont think curry is so popular. Its all Jerk and bbq sauce.
This is just what Ive been looking for.
I’ve ‘Copied Me that’ so will cook up a batch in a couple of weeks ( I’m away after the weekend)

Hello all.

Got up late today. So, no breakfast.

Lunch: Two double decaffeinated espressos. Tartar, mayonnaise, three sunny-side-up eggs. A small slice of carrot-zucchini cake.

Snack: Two scoops of salted caramel Oppo ice cream with sesame brittle.

Dinner: One Wiener sausage. Sesame brittle. A glass of dry red wine.

Ahaaaaaaaah. If you are into Indian food, then https://myheartbeets.com/recipe-index/#all will be of interest to you. Ashley (the blogger) is Asian, and an IP user. She also does an Onion Masala recipe. I have also made it, but, personally, preferred the Joshi Cooks version.

If yu are a member of the IP UK closed group on Facebook, Priya Joshi has plenty recipes on the recipe index on there. She is a very inventive cook too.

With all these various resources, CopyMeThat is your friend.

Evenin’ All,

Hope all those currently feeling under the weather are feeling better?

Am running very late with the food reports.

Sat: a breakfast burger (no bun) at American Diner on the motorway at 10am, then lo-dough pizza late evening.
Sun: a pizza repeat (it was that good!) for lunch, and nothing after. Oh, actually some greek yog if i remember correctly.
Mon: more yog :wacky: half a dozen thick chips fried in beef dripping, then ??? for dinner. Memory completely blank.
Tue: chicken wings with lemon and coriander, then homemade lamb burgers with homemade tzatziki in a 4 hr window
Wed: exact repeat of yesterday :D

Throughout it all, nibbled my way through a 16 choc box of Godiva v dark chocs, a gift from Mr B, cos he missed me.

Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries and cream washed down with a black coffee.
Lunch: left over lamb burger with cauliflower and broccoli salad followed by Greek yoghurt and raspberries.
Mid afternoon: lemon chia pudding with a black coffee.
Dinner: lemon and herb salmon mini burgers with mixed veg and celeriac mash followed by SF jelly, cream and LC chocolate granola.

Evening all. Very late today - just back from a shopping spree.

@maglil55 hope you soon feel better. Doesn’t sound like fun at all.

@ianpspurs and @DJC3 agree on the autumn front. Very peeved to have to put away the shorts I’d laid out last night in favour of long trousers this morning. And so wet.

@shelley262 glad you enjoyed the time with your friend

@Brunneria its good to know I’m not alone in chocolate excesses

Another hungry day. Not sure what is going on, but running with it for now.

Mid morning snack - 30g almonds

Lunch - Lidl antipasto of salami and prosciutto

Dinner - ribeye steak with garlic butter, followed by lazy dessert of extra thick double cream mixed with almond butter and then 75g Sainsbury’s 85% chocolate.

Late posting as we took grandchildren and Great Dane back to my daughter’s and stayed for dinner.
Happily curled up in bed now but younger daughter’s leftover cat has set up camp with me. I’m not a great cat fan but I haven’t the heart to boot her off the bed, she’s been sulking outside all day while Melody the Dane has been here.
B: 1 rasher bacon and scrambled egg.
L: nothing, took the girls out to a climbing wall looked terrifying but they enjoyed it.
Mid aft: starving, should have had lunch. Tried a Fatt Bar ( they arrived yesterday morning) really nice! Looked a bit anaemic and shiny but tasted great, a bit like like brazil nut toffee.

D: Chicken leg leftover from yesterday’s IP batch with cauli cheese and fried mushrooms. Glass of red.

Later - about 10 Callebaut 100% chocolate drops with tea and almond milk. @Goonergal I found a low corner cupboard that’s quite awkward to get to the back of - that’s their new inaccessible home.

Hope those who aren’t feeling great soon recover.

A
I’ve just followed @ickihun ‘s advice and had a late night cheese snack to hopefully stop my middle of the night/morning liver dump. Off to bed on 6.6 which is good by my standards
Are you going to test as usual in the morning? I have to also do a morning one too, if I want to keep my excellent bgs steady.
The block doesn't last very long in the morning but long enough to get u to eat low carb coffee or similiar.

A sedated gastroscopy went exceptionally well. So...

Mozzarella Cheese before bed

Cottage cheese with ham for breakfast.
Shopping then....
Eggy something for lunch

Sausages and something else maybe for dinner.

Going easy on cheese and nuts now as I have 3kg to lose asap.

It certainly is - and so have you been! So much good advice and so many useful tips. Great stuff thank you.

We all just pass on "stuff" we learn along the way.

It's a sort of pass the parcel of foodie knowledge. We never quite know what's coming in the next layer. :)
