What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

@dunelm I hope you took the Blue Ridge Pkwy for at least some of that trip. Still one of my top ten happy places. Yeah, airports. I’ve only done international flights a few times, so when I’m waiting for domestic connections, I have found the international concourses to be very quiet places in my walkabouts. I think you get numb after a while, and there develops a camaraderie both at the home airport and at whichever gate you’re at waiting for the leg that puts you home. Also in security lines!

@zauberflote, yes, it was sort of Charlottesville, Lynchburg, up to Boon and then a few days with relatives in Asheville. Then Cherokee, Knoxville, Nashville, Jackson, Memphis, Fayetteville (visit relatives) then somehow on to Oklahoma City . We had a wonderful time - great people, singing in Appalachia, clog dancing, riding the tail of the dragon, walking the trails from the film Last of The Mohecans and spending time with family that we very rarely see.
Security lines! Gotta love those security lines :arghh:o_O:yuck::eek:

If you do look at the Omrons, or similar, I suggest choosing some with hand grasps, as they allegedly help with accuracy, due to the additional data points for the impedance scanning.

If that's going too far, Lidl sometimes do body monitor scales at their astonishing price point. If Lidl do, Aldi probably do too

Good tip re Lidl/Aldi thanks.

Edit to add- my stalled weight loss seems to have made a small 2 lb lurch down, that has held for a week. Who loses 2 lb on vacation??????

Wow! Well done in the holiday weight loss - all that chicken broth must have been working it’s magic.
Hope your mum enjoyed To kill a Mockingbird, Don’t think I’ve seen it but I absolutely loved the book.

B. 2 egg cheese omelette, black tea, black coffee.
L. M&S tuna and bean tapas pot, half avocado
Snack. Mixed nuts
D. Will be: roast vege soup followed by salmon fillet, asparagus, cauliflower.

Today:
Usual breakfast of one slice HiLo toast, thick butter, tea.
Lunch: 1 h/b egg, 1 tomato, 1 small avocado, 1 tabsp. Waldorf salad.
Supper: H/m butternut and red pepper curry defrosted. Cant remember how carby it was will have portion Iceland cauli or brocolli rice depending on my mood. OH having chilli defrosted and real rice. Will try to resist pud if I can.
Every now and then I have to rummage the freezer to rotate meals but it does make for an easy evening. I have chicken thighs that need cooking tomo and peppers so will get my curry book out tomo and have it Fri when there are 3 of us. Also mushrooms to-be used so omlettes and salad tomo evening. OH likes ham and mushroom together.
All the egg discussion upthread I buy Burford Browns Large from Waitrose. They’ve just introduced Extra Large which are great for a boiled egg!
Ohhh. Just heard Mark Labett on the Chase say he is diabetic!

Evening all!
B - half slice of mixed cereal bread (it's very thin - think German rye bread); scrambled egg, onion and berbere (powdered chili type spice, vital for making food have any taste!)
L - chicken salad with pesto mayo (chicken now finished, will have to find something else in the cupboard for tomorrow)
D - leftover tofu, roasted cauli and peanut sauce
S - lump of cheese (that too is now finished :arghh:)

On a completely different subject, can anyone give me an update on the Lidl protein roll scandal? Are they still making them? I have been out of the country too long!

Hi All,

Still floppy. Guts not happy.
Not helped by a family meal today. I am trying eating lots of utterly carnivorous stuff in the hope of evening things out.
The alternative is an extended fast, but that really doesn’t appeal at the mo.
B: cheesy mince
L: ham and cheese omelette followed by small portion of cheesecake, minus the base
D: will be VERY MILD jerk chicken

Breakfast : Slice of Burgan toast and a chunk of Camembert cheese. One apple.
Lunch : Glass of milk - 200ml and some walnuts.
Dinner : Pork shank cooked with mushrooms and tomatos in a slow cooker (a first for me) with broccoli rice. Greek yoghourt and forest fruits.

Small 85% chocolate bar. Handful of peanuts. Same old stuff eh?

I still have the Tuna Melts in my sights. :D

Tea.

@Mongolia lidl rolls no longer available in UK. Nearest places that sell them are Germany or Southern Ireland. I got some brought over by @ziggy_w who I met up with and kindly brought some with her !
@Debandez also managed to secure some when she went to Dublin recently!
I tend not to do as much alternative bread these days I used to rely on the lidl rolls then moved over to HILO bread and the waitrose one liv life but dont like them that much. I make my seeded crackers instead to which I have a serious addiction.
Busy day today:
breakfast one boiled egg with buttered LC seeded crispbreads
Dinner Sea Bream in lemon butter, cauliflower cheese and asparagus followed by SF jelly and spoon of yoghurt and cream
gym and swim session planned for first thing in the morning so may be a more hungry day!

I have just downed my first mug of heartstarter black coffee of the day, made from two spoonfuls of Robert Timms granulated coffee no sugar / sweeteners.

Water was nuked for 2½ minutes in the microwave.
How was the bread?

That iPhone X takes some good photos!

@DJC3 we were silenced by TKAM’s power. I’d been very young when I saw it, and of course she can’t remember anything. We were very glad we went, and she wanted to see it again immediately!
@Brunneria sorry you are still feeling the effects!
@Tipetoo haha I nuke my decaf in the French press beaker. Mr ZF says I’m cheating...
I arrived home 15 minutes ago to find a half eaten squirrel lying stone cold on the kitchen floor. I will spare you the picture… On my way out again immediately… manage lunch by telling mom that my tummy was not feeling good, so I had chicken soup in my mug.
See y’all later I hope!

26-03
my new no carb granola for breakfast,
no lunch, few teas and coffees though
went away for a night, cakes, flowers and champagne waiting in the room
homemade chocolate brownie and truffles, delish, didnt fancy the soft spongy thing covered in sugar
dinner was late and quite extravagant (25th wedding anniversary celebration)
had half a slice of delicious homemade wheatmeal soda bread and butter while waiting for food to arrive
i had roasted cauliflower with various garnishes, including confit egg yolk
then roast cod with crab and seafood sauce on a bed of creamed leeks. leeks were tasty, fish perfect,
dessert, i was good, had the cheese, refused the homemade bread ate only 3 crackers with my cheese
no idea of calories or carbs, probably more than my 100 but coud have been massively more.
Of course we also shared a bottle of champagne.

27-03
mixed berries with yoghurt, and full english, no baked beans, no toast. Managed to eat the black pudding, couldnt finish the sausage. They were never a favourite of mine.
no need for lunch.
But way off the wagon tonight, we had pizza at a pub where they make their own. I did cut off the crusts and left half the base though.
Now eating cubes of manchego cheese and olives. with a cup of tea

tomorrow will be all the odds from the freezer, so no kind of carb control possible

OMG, well I can honestly say 'meatza' will never again feature in the Chook menu. All the component ingredients are foods I have enjoyed in the past in other meals but it was amazing how disgusting they were when combined, cooked and eaten together. Revolting stuff! It didn't go to waste though - the dogs quite liked it.
