6.2 this morning, enjoy the day

Thanks for that link. I didn’t think much of his employer saying...the company was "disappointed" with the decision to award Dr Shanks "a share of the licence revenue...”
There are many inventors that companies benefit from to a great monetary degree. The individuals also don’t get recognised for what they have invented. And they invent some tremendous things.
This poor guy ended up with poor health for fighting this. I don’t know how a fair system could be put into place.
To me, although a share in the patent profits would be good, the most important part would be recognition for my work in the matter.
I designed something in the 1970’s, and approached a magazine with it. They never got back to me, but a few months later in the magazine they had blatantly copied my design. And no credit to me, nor did I receive any money for it (I was hoping for some money at the time as I needed it). I still remember the hurt when I went into the newspaper shop and saw the magazine. I have never brought that magazine again.
And back to our diabetes, like you I am also experimenting when to eat the protein in the day, and what type of protein. I can get my readings to be pretty much constant in the 6’s (occasional 5’s) the way I am eating at the moment. But the 6’s in the day are lower or higher depending when I eat protein and the type of protein.
Nuts appear to be the exception to that rule. I can pretty much nibble nuts at any time aBut I do need to lose more weight (I am losing slowly), but I would like more weight to disappear (a fairy with a magic and anywhere?). However I find that eggs are the best thing among the protein family to help me lose weight. I also find that slice of cheese will reduce my blood sugar readings if they are close to the 7’s.
Blimey - take care Karen17.8 for memix up with insulins last night took bolus instead of basal so have had a night of ridiculous lows and highs correction dose given so hopfully levels will settle.anyway have a good day everyone

I don't for 1 moment advocate using the NHS/eatwell/starchy foods WOE. I think it is advisable to go in with the eyes wide open, knowing LC will be very different , probably challenging (especially if you like eating out and have a non lc partner) and some carby/sugary foods will always taste better is the only way to do this. There is a cost for many of us and it does look like remission rate is (some way?) under 50% - sell this honestly or risk people trying and becoming very anti quite quickly.Onions I am becoming more and more in agreement with. However I am not sure I am ready or ever will want to put the alternative NHS suggested diet to the test as I suspect it will give even higher BG readings and I saw what happened to my old mom, not pleasant. Dammed if you do, dammed if you don't, and so we struggle on.
Thankyou dunelm xBlimey - take care Karen
Wise words and thoughts. There is a cost for many of us and it does look like remission rate is (some way?) under 50% - sell this honestly or risk people trying and becoming very anti quite quickly.
Whilst it is good to see you back and immensely uplifting to note your concern for others it is also sad to learn of your struggles. As manly a hug as I can mange young sir.A belated good morning to you all, I have been busy teaching for the last couple of weeks so have missed a lot so I will give hugs to those that need them, High fives to those who need it and a massive well done to everyone, just because. I have been unwell lately with exceptionally high readings (average of 28) due to my cannulas not playing well with others, so a truly massive amount of insulin required, displaying symptoms again and just generally feeling ill. I have now changed cannulas and have readings back into single figures and long may it continue, as I feel that if it happens again I will just throw everything in the bin and go on holiday! I have been battling the meter of doom quite hard, but unfortunately it has been sat gloating with glee as it constantly threw numbers at me that would make your eyes bleed. But we live to battle another day.
Take care everyone.
Winner for deciding to Mountain Bike - unleash that free spirit while you can.Wise words and thoughts.
Thanks for the link, oh and I didn't mean to imply you advocated the NHS diet, badly phrased post on my part.
I have been juggling with todays grey looking weather and threat of rain with to Mountain Bike or not, I think Mountain Biking is winning the day so off for a spin as Mrs MC is at her hairdressers.
Thanks for the winner, just got back, a very misty Autumn ride when up on the tops of the heathland.Winner for deciding to Mountain Bike - unleash that free spirit while you can.
Dare you!and lick it off like Cheshire cat savouring every drop

Thanks saskia x6.8 FBG in here, 8 degrees out there. The weather site says Sunshine but I don't know how they can tell, the sun isn't even up yet.
I got about 5 hours' sleep last night, which is more than on some previous nights, and having eaten so little yesterday I was hoping for something more like 5.8, but since what I did eat was more carbs than protein I guess 6.8 will do.
@PenguinMum I am in sympathy with you on the FBG reading this morning.
@Muddy Cyclist your ride sounds thrilling. And I know those kids enjoyed it too.
@karen8967 I hope your numbers are better now. Your experience puts my "bad" nights into perspective.
@ianpspurs I think you and I think along similar lines as to LCHF eating.
@johnpol it's good to see you back again; sorry you have been having problems. Sending a hug to you.
@HarryBeau congratulations on the good night's sleep. I slept longer and better last night than on some previous nights -- I'm glad you got the good rest.
@gennepher your trip to the fabric shop gave me pleasant memories of times spent in fabric shops with my mother. All the fabric shops that used to be in my area are long gone, the most recent closure was about 3 years ago. I think there is a specialist fabric shop somewhere not far away; mostly upholstery fabrics I think.
There you are john I am sorry you have had such a rough ride...sometimes it does feel like everything is thrown at us all at once...thankfully you are doing better and as you say we live to fight another day...great to have you back. But we live to battle another day.
