What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Good Morning with a 5.3 today.

Tempted to go a Muddy Bike Ride but I think I may wait until Monday as weather looks better, we shall see.

@jjraak you certainly are making the most of your days away, love the sunset, I'm sure you will sort those higher readings. Please also accept an Agree Rating for your tell someone if you love them comment. To love is such a wonderful gift we all have, to share it and declare it can be so difficult for many. Since a lesson learnt as a teenager I made a conscious decision to always tell friends and family at every opportunity and I am so glad I have.

@SaskiaKC yes those smells are very well entrenched in my memory. My favourite smell though is the pure turps used when I do my oils painting it is also even more evocative of the art classes, especially portrait and life painting as they were always in enclosed studios. Did you ever play what we now know was a dangerous game of flicking Mercury around the chemistry lab, splitting it into many silver balls?

Peace and love go with you all. There goes the hippy coming out of me. :joyful:

Lovely words. Yes some can find the words I love you hard to say. My dear old dad was one of them. He could only write it down. But he was a very loving man and a great dad. Suffered greatly with his mental health sadly.
So here goes, I love you all :-) and I absolutely love this thread.

Me too. I love y'all. :)

Not on to post fbs. Here to share my wonderful news. After 3 days on a rollercoaster ride at the hospital (on and off) with my poor daughter going through a very traumatic time I am very proud to introduce you to the newest member of our family. My grandson. Jasper Schofield. Born 11.55pm 30th December weighing 8lb 14oz. Mum and baby doing well now.
@Muddy Cyclist I need a fanfare. Could do with our thread musicians coming together at this point. And I cant wait to see which emoticons @SaskiaKC and @gennepher post.
I'm exhausted but still can't sleep. But I'm one very happy granny. So glad it's all over and Jasper arrived safe and sound.

Welcome, Jasper! What a handsome boy you are. :)

It’s early o’clock again in the dark and dangerous north.

The wonder wheel of a restless night came in at 5.2 this a.m. My average this month is 5.5, a new wonder wheel will be needed in 11 hours so I hope that it performs a bit better than that. Still, a reasonable show - “ever so ‘umble Mr Copperfield.”

The three miniature eating machines arrived back yesterday afternoon and are anticipating a visit to an indoor swimming complex today with their gran while grandad sorts out all thing entertainment for about 30 tomorrow.

Enjoy your final day of 2019; must dye my hair, get some coal ready, bread, salt, coin, scotch and then decide which is my first foot.

Good Morning and a 4,9 for me on this final day of the year.

@Debandez congratulations, joyand love, what lovely news, fanfare given, I also know quite a few Lullabies if ever you need them.

Share your love, look back on your year and remember ups, downs, joys and sorrows which are the wonders of life.

Fbg 6.7 this morning after a late night....
Lauren not drinking, but tonight decided to join me.
Met up with a small crowd from Singapore, and shared drinks and tales from holiday.

Staff in hotel, seemed to be on a extended break, so joined us at bar for some pool.
(Love how comfortable they seem around us)
Even got asked to pose for a cheeky shot behind bar.

We had eaten earlier, and neither of us were hungry, so skipped dinner, and just went out for some live music and a few beers.

Good night...coconut vodkas went down well.

And as much as I like the sunset pics, to see two who are meant to be together , warmed my heart.. So please I humbly offer my non sunset pic...

Super news, @Debandez ... Many congratulations to you and mum.
And a Very warm welcome to to young Jasper
And just in time to see in the new year.
HAPPY NEW YEAR'S, Little fella..x

Morning...a busy busy busy week where I celebrate the lead up to Christmas...Christmas day boxing day & my birthday so by the time New Year rolls up I am done celebrating...one more birthday lunch to complete with friends in London on Saturday then I can return to normality...I made a conscious decision not to test in the morning over the holidays...my FBG is no doubt higher than usual but as someone else has said normal service will be resumed (soon)...had a fabulous time during the last week with family & friends...Christmas passed in a flash difficult to believe it's almost 2020...the Charlie & Lola road show continues unbelievable they seem to have doubled in size during the three weeks they've been here...all their little habits showing I love watching them apart from last night when after an evening out they entertained me on my return with charging up & down the curtains...congratulations @Debandez on baby Jaspers safe arrival...one coffee in another expected soon...one lmore deviation from the righteous path WOE this weekend then work begins on the impending HbA1c in the New Year...enjoy your celebrations this evening...I am not a new year fan but will do some first footing in the morning...see you all in 2020 happy new year.

Good morning/evening all, a 5.7 on the dice after seeing off the last of the turkey in a rogan josh last night.

Welcome to the world Jasper, may you have peace and happiness in abundance. You must be chuffed as ninepence Debs.

An unusual 6.5 this morning. No problem because I know exactly why it isn't in my normal range of numbers.

Yesterday - instead of the usual 150ml of cream I had 300ml. This took me to 25g of carbs and just under 2700 calories yesterday. My normal is 20g carbs and 1700 calories. I just had the munchies yesterday.

The cream consumption had been edging up over the holiday but blood sugars were ok but 300ml was more than I could cope with.

I have a particular problem with cream. 150g is absolutely ok but over 200g isn't. Gary Taubes does mention that some people's BS is sensitive to cream. I must admit though that the bowl of cream whipped up with inulin was delicious.

good morning all :)

4.6 today

off into the shower before we go off to mum's ;)

After saying we didn't need much shopping yesterday when we went out we found two big packs of mince and a big tray of stewing steak reduced because they had only 1 day left on their date so I spent the evening cooking it all ready for the freezer :hilarious:.

Hope your day treats you kindly :)

edited to add @Debandez joyful to hear of Jasper's safe arrival :joyful:

Great news. So pleased that daughter and baby Jasper are doing well. Lovely photo.

Morning All. 6.2 which I am taking as I have stabilised.
@Debandez wonderful news. Congrats to you all and well done your daughter. When a new life comes into the world it seems a better place. Welcome little Jasper.
@HarryBeau glad you had such a fun week and belated happy birthday wishes. Glad to hear Charley and Lola are flourishing even if your curtains are taking a bit of a hit. Hope they’re patterned so the tiny holes wont show!
Well friends another year of up and downs and above all solidarity and caring comes to a close, so THANK YOU all for everything. See you in 2020.
Off for a beach walk soon, unlike @jjraak and Lauren will need coats and scarves.
Happy new year. Stay well, stay safe.

@gennepher and @Krystyna23040 Have had shockingly bad service in Sainsbury's as well. Although not traumatizing. Have never eaten there since, but due to location still shopped there sometimes.

A disappointing 6.1 this morning
Had hoped it would be lower.
Lemmon tea only again
