What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

I’ll add to the chorus encouraging @maglil55 to phone the Drs, over the weekend we were being encouraged not to hold back ringing the surgery if you needed advice for anything. Both hubby and I have had to ring our GP in the last couple of weeks and we got an unexpectedly quick call back. Please take advice maglil55 xx
Anyway my food today:
Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries and cream washed down with a black coffee.
Late morning: black coffee and raspberry phd bar
Late Lunch: Some left over gammon followed by Low Carb brownie, coffee chia pudding and LC chocolate granola.
Dinner: chicken supreme with roasted veggies followed by SF jelly, cream and macadamia and coconut keto granola

Breakfast was streaky bacon rashers in a RyVita sandwich.

Lunch was a couple of Krackawheat crackers with cheese.

Wasn't going to have anything this evening but decided to have the last banana in the fruit bowl.

Doesn't sound much for the day but not really hungry. Still - probably a bit high on the carbs. BG is OK though.

04-05-2020
Breakfast: nut granola, fried halloumi and four cherry plum tomatoes. 2 CWC.
I woke late, for me, and hungry. Making coffee, put the granola in the cup. Nearly added the water. Ooops. Obviously not properly awake.
Decided to go to town after Google maps confirmed distance. Long ride, not entirely without incident, But safely home with provisions and 40l of potting compost.
Lunch: hungry again. Salad lettuce and radish. Macedoine. Two slices of toast. Was going to put sardines on them. But they were so delicious with just butter, that the sardines got a cold and slippy bed of lettuce, instead of warm toast. Then found in the fridge some pâtè. Jar was open, so i finished it off. Tea.
Dinner cup of tea. Chicken casserole, made few days ago. Steamed cabbage, cauliflower and a carrot from today's shop.
Glass of wine, later tea and water and more tea.

Another gloomy morning here (outside).

My FBG was, as always, much too high. 9.2 this morning! So annoying. I spend all day bringing it down and usually get it at a nice level in time for the bed time test only for it to pop back up the next morning. :arghh::shifty:

Food today...
Breakfast: was usual omelette with carb free syrup
Lunch: will be Actimel drink and a bit of cheese
Dinner: will be cannellini beans, garlic and spinach gently fried in olive oil with pesto

Evening all. Another long walk in the sun (although the wind made it more than a little chilly except in direct sunlight in sheltered areas) and another OMAD.

Dinner was rotisserie (in the new air fryer) poussin which had a rub of paprika and various kinds of pepper - shop bought and failed to notice the all important ‘spatchcock’ amongst the wording :banghead:. Found some string to attach it to the skewer properly and all was well. Supplemented with some carnivore stuffing and followed up with a small pot of Yeo Valley Greek yoghurt.

Breakfast was 2 RyVita and cheese - about 11 am.
6 pm - Just had another meal - a steak cut from the rib of beef that the butcher sent by mistake. It was very good with a sauce of onion, mushroom and tomato. Made too much of that as well because I thought I would leave half and save it for tomorrow. S3500006.JPG Didn't think I would be able to eat the whole thing, but I did without feeling over-full. Felt very greedy doing it, but there you go!
I shouldn't eat anything else tonight, but I do have some strawberries and cream, if I feel peckish later.

Evening all.
Black coffee this morning and a freezing cold, wet dog walk. Boy was I glad to get home. Dennis still raring to go.
Lunch was 90second bread filled with ham and cheese, fried in butter. A low carb IP Custard afterwards.
Dinner: pork steak with blue cheese sauce, roast aubergine and broccoli Then another Low carb custard, maybe I should stop making them. 1 glass red.

Edit for typo

Didn't manage to cancel the groceries from the council and 2 more boxes appeared in the porch this evening. Some of it can be used by us but most can't and I'll send it down to No 2 son and family tomorrow. Can't think why we would need quite so much shower gel or toilet rolls, or even soap but can't complain, it's very generous to have it given at all. Must try harder to cancel it this week.

I think I will have some strawberries - I'm feeling hungry again. I would have thought the large meal I ate earlier would have kept me going but it was not to be.

Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries and cream washed down with a black coffee.
Late morning: black coffee and gingerbread Carb Killa
Late Lunch: last of the left over gammon followed by Greek yoghurt, lemon chia pudding and macadamia and coconut keto granola.
Dinner: beef burger topped with cheese accompanied by a leafy salad followed by SF jelly, cream and LC chocolate granola.

Been having a lot of bother accessing the forum. Had a conversation with a locum (own doctor not there). Basically, no point in testing I've been I'll so long. Keep doing what I'm doing but if I get worse phone back (or NHS24). Thankfully I was a bit better. Yesterday - not good during the day but suddenly a bit better late afternoon. Today, I've been reasonable most of the day with just occasional "off" moments. At least I don't feel so miserable that I want to burst into tears!
Yesterday bed 6.3 FBG 5.3.
B. TAG and Hubby made me a tomato sausage, slice of GF black pudding and a slice of skinny toast.
L. Nothing.
D. After some persuasion I knocked together a carbonara with Lidl's noodles. Couple of bits of 85% which I regretted. Made me feel queasy again. I was OK by bedtime though.

I'll have a glance through the posts before I do today's but at least I've been pretty much normal today although still weak.

@maglil55 pleased you had a chat with the dr and hope you keep improving.
Breakfast one slice of bacon, egg and half a toasted chaffle
Lunch cheese and lc seeded crackers
Dinner two lamb chops with salad and glass of wine followed by lc lemon cake with yoghurt and cream.
Busy day but managed to get out in the sun too and a lovely evening walk.
We have an emergency plumber coming in the morning to replace our faulty shower will be great to get it useable again.

Evenin’ All,

after 2.5 weeks my Betty’s coffeencake order for Mr B arrived. V exciting. Especially the florentines that had fallen into the shopping cart...

however, slight setback! The cafetiere was excavated from the back of the cupboard from where it has languished for a couple of years since Mr B last used it, and... to my disgust (!) it turns out he put it away dirty! Vile! and well past saving, I can assure you.

so now he has to wait until his next ‘essentials’ shopping trip. Ha!

Anyway,

B: baked cheese thing from Lidl’s. Delicious
L: moo grob
D: heart, liver and 2 GF sausages. V nice. :D

It is a wide terracotta dish (about 4inches across, filled with a cheese mix. Have had three, with chorizo, stilton, and... um... ham? You just bake, and it comes our all melty and brown on top.

honestly, can’t remember the brand or the name, sorry.

I eat then with a spoon, but I think they are supposed to be fonduey, or spread on carbs. :)

I've always found Beer Can Chicken fascinating since I saw John Torode do it.

I watched that one yesterday! I'm enjoying his Australian series but I preferred his Korean programmes

Bed time yesterday: 5.4. / FBG today: 8.9

Breakfast (was): Usual omelette with carb free syrup (hazelnut) - down to my last bottle of syrup - need to start rationing it until TK Maxx re-opens

Lunch (will be): Usual Actimel and bit of cheese - probably a couple of 25g Castlello minis

Dinner (will be): Some more of the huge pit of minestrone / veg stew i made on.Monday. I've frozen the other three huge portions

@shelley262 - I do so hope I keep improving. As many of you have said it has gone on far too long but finally it is showing signs of breaking up. I can't say I feel 100% but I'm getting there. @Annb - your steak and ragu looked tasty which is something for me as my taste is still not great either. @DJC3 - you can never have too much LC egg custard (or in my case creme brulee). Yesterday bed 6 FBG 6.1 but during the day BGs were all over the place for a while at one point hitting 9.9.
B. TAG and again Hubby made me a slice of GF black pudding, rasher of bacon and fried egg. Need to work up the energy to mix up more skinny bread.
L. Nothing. Was feeling a little queasy on and off and it was early afternoon that my BGs were all over the place.
D. I had Kung Po beef made and in the freezer with loads of veg in it so, I had that with cauliflower rice which Hubby stir fried with spring onion, peas and Tamari soy. I had mixed a chia pudding earlier so had some of that later.

@SlimLizzy - how is Mr Slim doing? @Chook how are you finding it with Mr Chook back at work?
