What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Looking at the scale of the task it seems almost certain that by the time all this year's 2 doses have been given it will be time to start next year's, even assuming all goes to plan. The track record of this administration doesn't inspire confidence. All the noises from scientists suggest COVID will be endemic and we will need annual vaccinations. Hope for the best and plan for the worst?

With the latest pronouncement it looks as if those of us who had the first Pfizer will not get the second till March.
This is an experiment, it was not recommended in two doses separated by 12 weeks by Pfizer.
Doctors are apparently unhappy the elderly are being put through the mill.

MIA a short while
So a few posts I haven't caught up with
But will try to do so over the coming days.

A warm welcome those new to thread.
A silent tear for the loss of Alienaspie
And the hope of his return

A short tale of woe from me to explain, but sure others are facing much worse.

Being incapacitated, seems to have placed too much pressure on Lauren.
Suffice to say relocating myself for a short while until I recover, was the only sensible options.

On arrival the recent upheaval and relocation made that recovery seem even further away.:sorry:

But the lack of stress and the care my nephew and his lads have given me, progress is now looking much better.:D

Just two weeks later, and the sprained ankle can now bear weight,
the broken one .....that scary swelling when I arrived at nephew's has now subsided somewhat, and it's beginning to look like a foot again.

And while not skillful on the crutches, mobilising has come on in leaps & bounds since first issued.

Everything else must wait, my first priority is to recover my health And heal as best I can.

Hugs gratefully received but not necessary.
I'm down for sure, but certainly not out
And as chumbawumba nicely put it

So with that said..
Onwards into 2021, shaking off the dry discarded snake skin of 2020.

Travelling in the hope next year offers a brighter outlook for us all, then this years catastrophy puked up.

"HAPPY NEW YEAR"
To you all.
Big hugs jjraak and a happy new year to you xFB_IMG_1586186547155.jpg

@RFSMarch, sorry to be pedantic Rosington Bear but isn't choon correct usage? While I'm here, Amazon deliver (my local takeaway don't. Just pork, lamb, beef, chicken, duck and prawn) Today a large box arrived with this well packaged. I now have 4 x 750 mls mugs just in case I take up tea drinking in the New Year. Well, a fella should have a hobby.

Apparently the Lakes, in Tier 4 are closed to all outsiders because any rescues would be extremely difficult within the regulations. Tier 3s and below should not visit Cumbria.
Happy days are here again!
D.
I wish someone would tell the visitors to Cannock Chase not to come, it's absolutely hammered again today, we are Tier 4 I thought travel was not allowed, many are taking no notice.

Good morning everyone from a bright and sparkling tier 4 in the dark and dangerous north
The wonder wheel can stay where it is for today and will be initiate in the new year.
I wonder if there will be less folk about today - hope so - it’s a good day for a walk although we can’t climb a hill either today or even tomorrow. A wee tipple had been arranged via long distance elastic trickery devices with son tonight - an un-chillfiltered Dailuaine for me - he has something Irish.

@geefull - thank you for your comments. Smashing light, reflective piece from you today. That beach goes on and on.
@Muddy Cyclist - spiffing willows and suck amazing colours in that sky - I have enjoyed seeing your willow set. Hope your ears are now fully operational.

Today - a couple of willows in our park on one of the islands in the lake. Hope everyone has a wonderful day despite the restrictions and all the very best to you for the new year. Koffy is ready.

I gave you a winner for your upbeat attitude, but you need a hug also. Stay strong.

Hug for the loss of hearing, hard for any but a double blow I'd say for a musician as yourself.

As for tyres.
GOOD to know you and family will be safe on the dodgy roads over winter.

As to allocating blame.
I'd bung it all on that dirty no good 2020.

2021 until it proves otherwise, I will see as Mother Teresa, by comparison to 2020 as Pancho villa/Manson/haniball lector

That's what we have been told in work ...all been offered or given the first dose and we were supposed to be having the second in 3 weeks now told it will probably be 12 weeks time !

The doctors are not happy they will get all the flak. The bma are not happy either and have written to the GPs.

It is not in Pfizer spec either.
And it gives the doctors three times the existing work in January.
Its just like the other mess over schools opening

They are experimenting with the elderly and will bury their mistakes if it doesn't work.
I am writing to my MP.
D.

Sorry you have hearing problems, Muddy.
Is that just on one side?
I have an 'hole' in my response on the right side at higher frequencies. Fortunately I can hear most birds. The duchess can't hear Cuckoos, even with an hearing aid!

I thought, probably as many others that the whole vaccine promise is one of hit and miss at best, experiment at worst. I have no doubt in the vaccines ability and absolute faith in the hard working scientists but the management of it is worrying. If this becomes an annual event which we all suspect someone needs to get their act together.

Getting new tires today was interesting, safe in reception but the number of customers actually in the fitting bays not wearing masks and a lot of them pensioners and not social distancing with the staff was rather worrying we are Tier 4, heaven help us.

Yes mainly left, I have a low motor noise most of the time and everything is amplified but not clear. I hope my audiology app comes through soon, earring aids probably next step, I don't think I like this falling to bits. :)

Today's poem from Malcolm Guite's anthology is one which has been very personal to me since I was 14. Without fail I have remembered this a few times each winter and often chose to walk our old dogs on a route where I could lean on a gate or stile on the edge of a wood (near the remains of an old church and where my great grandparents lived) as it was getting dark. I can't yet bring myself to do something similar here. Guite analyses this far better than my English teacher when I was 14. When all seems bleak (decay, death) - lazy stereotype of Hardy IMHO - he allows himself to entertain the hope of something better (immortality, another realm entirely) as in the song of the thrush. This is a poem to which I frequently return along with Tall Nettles by Edward Thomas and Good-by and Keep Cold by Robert Frost.

Not much point me writing to my MP he rolled out the plan. This current regime is like a runaway steamroller just crashing about randomly. No challenge inside the blue team and the red team were destroyed by looney tunes. Hugs for poor Drs like your daughter and my former profession.

Thank you. One of my favourites also.

I hope you are able to find a place to do something similar to what you did at your old abode.

I would add Gerard Manley Hopkins to that list.

Good evening Ladies and Gentlemen, posters, painters and gamers.

At 9:00pm I shall raise a glass of whisky to you all, present, past and banned.

At 9:25 pm I shall be in bed.
Surprised, didn't see you as a party pooper. :) I'll raise my glass at midnight, it will take Mrs MC that long to find the coal for me to run around with, now let's see is it back to front or front to back?
