What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Not much point me writing to my MP he rolled out the plan. This current regime is like a runaway steamroller just crashing about randomly. No challenge inside the blue team and the red team were destroyed by looney tunes. Hugs for poor Drs like your daughter and my former profession.

Yes, Ian, the said guy working with your profession was on this am, the problem was oil started coming out the loud speakers!
He makes Uriah Heap seem fat free!:)

Nice to see Stanley is voting with his feet to become a Frenchman.

good evening all :)

was 4.6 this morning

quite a nice day here if a bit breezy, ironically it's probably the kindest new Years Eve we've had for a few years weather wise, there will be no village torchlight walk and ceilidh this year of course :sorry:

We took our walk before lunch, not quite the same although it was a pleasant walk :)

I've spent part of the day making LC tiramisu for pudding tomorrow to take over to mum's. Roast beef is already cooked and sliced into nice thick slices ready to go :)

Thank you for your company along the way in 2020 and I wish everyone a 2021 that is everything we could hope for :) this year has been a 'curate's egg' to say the least.

@ianpspurs - thank you for the thoughtful poetry links :) your song link reminded me of another, this

@dunelm - nice tranquil set of willows in the park, I should like to stand on that bridge and look out over the water :) and your hoppy new year sketch just really makes me smile :joyful:

@lindisfel - hope things have thawed by now, take care, I'll admit icy road conditions really worry me :sorry:

@jjraak - hope your recovery continues smoothly :)

@Muddy Cyclist - I hope your hearing problem resolves soon. The visitor issue seems to defy logic, we are fortunate in that we have the advantage of distance so it is very quiet here tonight, almost eerily so.
I'm not surprised that your paintings were well recived and I love both the mountain sketches but particularly the second one, very strong :joyful:

Thank you, I'm looking forward around painting these Mountains.

That Mountain you have produced is wonderful, abstract yet undoubtedly a mountain with a well selected colour range.

Happy New Year and good Morning.

Very strange for us as we usually wake on New Year's Day to a house full of family and friends, sleeping, softly talking, musicians quietly playing tunes on various instruments and always the smell of coffee. Today just Kathy and I, another first.

Then lunchtime we would be off to see our Morris Dancing friends on Ironbridge dancing and playing, they have not danced all year and won't be at the start of this year.

Most years I have an idea what and where we are going this year I have no idea and so I will let time take me where it will and ponder on all things ir shows me along the way.

BG for the first day of the year 5.5.

Enjoy the day as best as you are able. Keep Safe.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Cave-dweller and I spent a funny evening with an assortment of snacks we had managed to scavenge and watched films and just... chatted. We chatted dating horror stories (we are both doing the dating site rounds), film buffs, religion, politics and it was actually a fun evening!

Anyway... Swipey-hoo says... 5.7 ➡️ which is very not bad on top of snack food and a bit of beer.
Will do a session on the spin bike about 9am and then will take down the decs, clean my golf clubs and then more films... I rarely get a chance to just sit and watch stuff all day (and cave-dweller off to see mum later) so I can clean the house and then it is all done.

I hope we ALL have a better 2021 but it will be a while before anything improves on a day to day basis, but I was very thankful for the friendly support and encouragement. Here's to more!

Happy New Year. 5.3 this morning. Still dark and dismal outside. Yesterday did lots of walking around our village. At least the low temperature has frozen the mud in our local parks so it is much easier to walk around them.

Thank you @geefull - fabulous mountain from you. Great colour choices. Are we doing mountians?

Happy New Year and/or celebration of the Naming and Circumcision of Jesus. Cold, dark, frosty and eerily silent here - no noise from planes for a few days now. Swipey was dressed in a 4.7 for New Year's Day. Bit excessive if you ask me. I no longer have any clear idea what bg or weight is optimal nor yet what route leads to those destinations. The hope (resolution?) is to somehow optimise "those things which are requisite and necessary, as well for the body as the soul" but it is always the hope that kills, at least in man made/inspired plans. @Krystyna23040 yesterday sounds wonderful for you, really good news. Similarly @RFSMarch aka Rosington Bear. Last night sounds as if it was good for you (both?) - never mind snacks, soul food/food for the soul without the fancy label @Muddy Cyclist great fbg and hug for more low key NY Eve and Day. @geefull thank you for the link to Notting Hillbillies - almost immediately discerned Knopfler which was a big bonus. For all those I missed, as the guys said, float, float on

Good morning everyone and a Happy New Year from a water bouncing start to the day in the dark and dangerous north

The wonder wheel of laughter, mirth and slight of hand came in at 5.8 this am - bah! humbug!

Christmas decorations are starting on their long migration back to their spring feeding grounds in the attic. Slowly, just one tree and associated decorations for now, like a blue whale with accompanying parasites in a Terry Gilliamesque cartoon. I am saying nothing.
The choice whisky went down very well - smashing taste - I have it on record that son’s whiskey with the additional ‘e’ - no, not that sort of ‘e’. Eddie Izzard has put his trainers back on - another bunch of marathons - this time on a treadmill. One every day this month.
The bouncing rain seems to have stopped - all quiet on the eastern front.
Today’s art - some snow on Roseberry Topping just down the road. Yellow rice paper. The blue and purple backwash seems to have been turned into an aurora by the colour of the paper. Time for a koffy.

Thank you @geefull .
Warmest wishes for a Happy New Year.

Happy new year Ladies and Gentlemen. I didn't wake till 10:05 am a new record for me.
Tea and koffy to drink, but not at the same time.
Is the sound of music on the idiot box, it must be.
Here in Tilehurst Towers it's a full on roast day, for tomorrow we starve.
Have a great day.

Interesting Ian,
how the Jews seemed to know about factor 8?
D.

Never mind the other era ending, this saddened me a little. So many happy hours introducing students to this, watching them feel and show joy at what they could create. In many cases this one piece of software sparked a love of IT/Computing that led to A Level and Uni. A privilege to be part of that journey. So much of teaching I don't miss for a second (do your tie up, tuck your shirt in:arghh:) but that part was special. Life moves on but a poignant moment reading that story.

If that whisky choice was responsible for that wonderful ink and wash drawing from you today I must have some, which was it. That's one very effective piece of art, a really good winter scene.
