What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Greetings from a frost rime covered Breckland at the end of another year. Swipey and I sealed a deal for 4.8 at 6.50 - yes 6.50:woot:. A 2mad - turkey and sweet pickle SLC roll and Stilton (once scored a cracker of a goal against them) salad. @lindisfel the 2022 quip came not from humour but the best analysis I could find of just how long it may take to roll out enough vaccinations to make something approaching normal viable for all. @karen8967 great meme. @dogslife Happy New Year and I hope tier 4 doesn't add to life's problems for you or any other forum members. @Muddy Cyclist I hope the vacuum treatment works - I say I hope it works. Stay safe, find some inner peace and mark the transition from year to year your own way. Odd song choice in some respects, except the chorus, but nice little ditty and many of us have been in that situation, dealt with the fallout and moved on. Happy New Year to those who aren't here today.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and all who inhabit the third rock from the sun.

A 6.2 on that meter of misbehaving and naughtiness.

Well fellow posters, painters and gamers make the most of today, it is the last in the series of 2020, the 2020 series has not be one of the most collectable, let's hope the 2021 series is better.

Good morning everyone from a bright and sparkling tier 4 in the dark and dangerous north
The wonder wheel can stay where it is for today and will be initiate in the new year.
I wonder if there will be less folk about today - hope so - it’s a good day for a walk although we can’t climb a hill either today or even tomorrow. A wee tipple had been arranged via long distance elastic trickery devices with son tonight - an un-chillfiltered Dailuaine for me - he has something Irish.

@geefull - thank you for your comments. Smashing light, reflective piece from you today. That beach goes on and on.
@Muddy Cyclist - spiffing willows and suck amazing colours in that sky - I have enjoyed seeing your willow set. Hope your ears are now fully operational.

Today - a couple of willows in our park on one of the islands in the lake. Hope everyone has a wonderful day despite the restrictions and all the very best to you for the new year. Koffy is ready.

Love the picture and the sound of the tipple - hogsheads eh? I was always going to feel close to the willow vibe. Wonderful memories of a visit here .

Thank you@ianpspurs for your good wishes. To be honest as long as we can continue to buy food and other essentials locally tier 4 won't make much difference to the way we were living anyway unless you consider that I am unlikely to have gifts/ visits on my Epiphany birthday but it is more important for everyone to stay safe and well. Sincere best wishes to you and all on here.:)

Rain in the middle of night when it was freezing. The road is unusable, one cannot stand up, its coated in ice.
Some idiot will come down the hill again and take out the sandstone bridge over the river as they do most years...and its locals!!

Still the stonemasons are happy with a couple of weeks work each year, but it means a diversion for us in the car when going to the shops.
But up to now, I have not seen or heard a car or tractor on our road.
D.

So headed off to Sainsbury's at 7am ...
Fresh fruit and veg ✅
Cans etc ✅
Few toiletries ✅

Party snacks for a long session of DVD and BluRay watching? NOT ON YOUR NELLY!!! ❌❌❌
I managed to snaffle a couple of packets of spring rolls and then I got some bhajis and samosas from the usual Indian Aisle.

Curiously President Brie and Birds-Eye Burgers all gone ... which was mildy annoying.

And for all that... I had to defrost Gavin-the-Mini which I hate having to do with every fibre of my being. Even more annoying, I actually have a ice-screen-shield for the darned car! Do I ever remember that? Nooooooo!

I forgot that with non-diesel cars it is a good idea to give them a turn each day in the super-cold weather. He coughed a bit, and sounded like he had a sore throat... maybe I should get him a test ... but oh... where does one stick the swab?
(Polite answers only please - this is a family show!)

Tomorrow, we enter Tier 4. :banghead: Listening to Boris I think it will be late Spring before this changes, strange times.
We have been in tier 4 since the 19th though some people just ignore it all ...and that is part of the problem.:banghead:

And I agree with you agreeing ...esp with being wrong
Looking at the scale of the task it seems almost certain that by the time all this year's 2 doses have been given it will be time to start next year's, even assuming all goes to plan. The track record of this administration doesn't inspire confidence. All the noises from scientists suggest COVID will be endemic and we will need annual vaccinations. Hope for the best and plan for the worst?

Poor sleep and too much late night pasta resulted in a nasty 9 FBG this morning spending some of today making a menu plan for the next few weeks of low carb meals and snacks . Aiming for 100 carbs a day possibly less plus back exercising so should see a number in the 6's soon :)

MIA a short while
So a few posts I haven't caught up with
But will try to do so over the coming days.

A warm welcome those new to thread.
A silent tear for the loss of Alienaspie
And the hope of his return

A short tale of woe from me to explain, but sure others are facing much worse.

Being incapacitated, seems to have placed too much pressure on Lauren.
Suffice to say relocating myself for a short while until I recover, was the only sensible options.

On arrival the recent upheaval and relocation made that recovery seem even further away.:sorry:

But the lack of stress and the care my nephew and his lads have given me, progress is now looking much better.:D

Just two weeks later, and the sprained ankle can now bear weight,
the broken one .....that scary swelling when I arrived at nephew's has now subsided somewhat, and it's beginning to look like a foot again.

And while not skillful on the crutches, mobilising has come on in leaps & bounds since first issued.

Everything else must wait, my first priority is to recover my health And heal as best I can.

Hugs gratefully received but not necessary.
I'm down for sure, but certainly not out
And as chumbawumba nicely put it

So with that said..
Onwards into 2021, shaking off the dry discarded snake skin of 2020.

Travelling in the hope next year offers a brighter outlook for us all, then this years catastrophy puked up.

"HAPPY NEW YEAR"
To you all.

Pukka song choice and movingly honest post. Hoping and praying for healing to be as speedy as possible but these things can't be rushed. However sporadic your forays here everyone will understand and be delighted to welcome you. Good to hear your nephew and his lads are helping the recovery. Take care you are a top, top man Hang tough. This too shall pass.

Watched Grandpa's Great Escape earlier and the music from the funeral planted an earworm which I eventually tracked via Empire of the sun. Mesmeric and beautiful words. May go some way towards healing any rift between me and any Welsh members as it is a traditional? Welsh lullaby. Video seems slightly out of focus unfortunately.
