What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

OMAD (I hope). A short time ago I had pork and mushroom fricassee from the freezer. That will be it for the day, I should think, although it wasn't a large meal.

My cleaner came today, so all my floors are lovely and clean now - she only does the floors because that's the only bit I really can't do. The rest I can do, albeit slowly and bit by bit but vacuuming and mopping I can't do properly sitting on a rollator or a wheelchair.

Saw coconut whipping cream on Amazon so I decided to give it a try and also bought what I mistakenly thought was evaporated coconut milk but turns out to be condensed/sweetened coconut milk. Probably give that to Em's dad when he comes to pick her up this afternoon. He'll probably make a dessert of it tonight or at the weekend.

(March 23rd)

Breakfast (9am): 2 hardboiled egged, mashed with mayo
Snack (10:30am): None
Lunch (12pm): Leftover pork chops, salad of cucumbers and tomatoes, Gatorade Zero
Snack (3pm): Broghie with peanut butter
Dinner (8pm): 0% greek yogurt with keto granola topping
Evening Snack (10pm) – Carbonated SodaStream water

Walked 6.76km to bring my YTD total to 338.40km.

Broghies have been an amazing discovery....not sure how common they are worldwide, but they are relatively new to Atlantic Canada. They are these low carb puffed corn or wheat discs that can be topped with anything sweet or savoury. I like peanut butter, or use in place of a tortilla with taco filling/toppings. Love the crunch!

Well, I have learned something new today. I have ocassionally been buying them at Longo's (an relatively upmarket grocery store) and Nations ( an asian/western grocery stores) here in Toronto area. At both places, the broghies were in unmarked packages, so I was completely unaware of what they were called!

You're right - they are low carb and are a nice vessel for sweet and savoury fillings!

Breakfast: 2 slices carbzone and butter, mocha

Back very briefly - away to 91 year old mums until Tuesday from tomorrow. I’ve been away this week taking part in a research study participating as a volunteer, in a small group of diabetics in remission, in a heart health in diabetes study, all very interesting.
Kept low carb while away, as well as periods of fasting - especially during time in hospital as food is shockingly high carb.i asked if there was a healthy live yoghurt and Low fat vanilla flavoured manufactured yoghurt relatively high sugar was suggested as something healthy I could eat! It’s definitely easier to fast and or take your own snacks when away and or in hospital!
Back home today so
Mid am hm yoghurts
Lunch two cold boiled eggs (I’d made them to take with me but had left behind in fridge!) a few berries with hm yoghurts and four squares of 100% chocolate
Dinner venison meat balls in hm passata with basil and grated Parmesan and small glass of red wine followed by lc blondie.
Hope everyone has good weekend I’ll be back next week sometime. Food planned for visit to mums lots of things being made and taken with us to help us keep it low carb.

Hello. Didn't post yesterday as wasn't well and now I can't remember everything I ate. Bf today was 2 boiled eggs and mayo. Midday will be tin tune with cucumber and mayo and 2 Ryvitas. Tonight will be sausage, fried egg, bacon, and fried tomatoes and mushrooms.

OMAD today - probably. Had gammon steak with some melted cheese, small piece of pineapple, Brussels sprouts and some pickled red cabbage. Couldn't eat it all so I might not last out the day. Left-overs might be turned into bubble and squeak for tomorrow.

Developing a red, shiny sore on my ankle caused by compression hose digging into the swollen tissue there (at the front of the ankle). Normal creams don't do anything for it but I just got some Tea tree ointment in the post and will give that a try. If it doesn't work I daresay I shall have to ask the GP for ideas but it seems such a little thing to contact a doctor about. Maybe the diabetic nurse would be a better option.

Evening all.

Bit of a picky morning and then a new recipe for dinner.

Picked at Lindt 90%, Fage 0% and raspberries late morning.

Pre-dinner had almond butter and cream. Dinner was carnivore carbonara - idea and recipe pinched from Jen Unwin, who posted this video of her and her grandson making the dish earlier this week. Bacon, with mortadella strips instead of pasta and a sauce of egg yolks. Not sure I had the quantities exactly right, but it was tasty and will feature again.

Lovely video, Goonergal, although my inner foodie was screaming for Jen to lob that lot in a decent wok. Sooooo much easier to heat everything through.

Tonight was air fryer chicken with lemon pepper, plus a few of OH's chips and some mushy peas. I only have the little very crispy chips that are almost like crisps.

Odd combo, but MrB wanted chip shop fish and chips.

Thursday bed and FBG both 7 1. Am I being punished for something? I've now got a really annoying cold with a tickly cough. I feel really run down.

B. TAG and 2 slices of SLC toast one with whipped cheese, one with pate.

L. Nothing

D. Not a lot. Just don't feel like eating. 2 SLC toast and 2 eggs mashed with butter. I M&S plum.

Coconut milk but it wasn't stopping the tickly cough.

That's why I only ever have a scoop of Oppo when I have it.
