What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

A lie-in today....(yes. another one :bag:)

A steady as she goes 7.3...

Seem to be hitting a plateau.
Which is making some internal waves

If I'm not doing anything, it's SO easy to feel I can everything.
The reverse of previous, where even doing nothing I knew how restricted my movements were

So now getting into the angry stage (at the world, at myself ) that I'm not as capable as I think.when a few steps of turns glaringly show my limitations.

Yesterday as a good example.

looked over the 900...upcoming MOT.
spurring me into action.

Can't do much, so just some awkward bending undoing locks etc, to see what she needs..(sat for 9 months ).

Battery flat, tyres soft, a dribble of petrol

A good bit to attend to, that would have been an enjoyable hour or two,
But now requires me seeking help :banghead:

And just 'becsuse'......

Can anyone guess what idiot threw a leg over..?

Yep, yours truly
Just to 'brmm, brrmm' and see how far off riding it, I MIGHT be ...

A realistic assessment is
"Seriously..:wideyed: Not this Year. Buddy :hilarious::hilarious:"

Hand grip etc, has come a long way, but still only half of what good hand is ,
And clutch is notoriously heavy on the RF..and with thumb now being off centre, it's even more so..

A heave of the bike upright just confirmed the decision...

the dexterity to tap up and down the gears is still there on good side

But on bad leg, I could only get my foot on the pegs with difficulty, and the time needed to operate the rear brake was glacial..
(Yes, I know it's just the spare /back up brake;)
) But it's nice for emergencies.

And the icings on the cake ....plural

A slight wobble while sat holding bike up and that little shift in the weight distribution to my bad leg..:arghh::arghh:...nope didn't cry..but it made me sweat for a moment that I was dropping it :wideyed:

And as if that wasn't embarrassing enough,
Trying to climb off...

and i end like a small child sliding off its first donkey ride unaided , climbing desperately to the tank, as I inch my good leg up & over seat (bad leg taking weight, scooter stopping dismount from other side )

SO NOT the cool looking dismount I was looking forward to, Bro....:watching:..

amusing for any neighbours watching tho...:hilarious:

And afterwards, coming indoors & sitting down., I felt I'd done a hards days work...:sorry:

It's ok..I had been toying with selling it,..let someone who can get the most out of it, get the benefit
Yesterday just cemented the decision

Shall miss it, when It goes, but I have to realistic, that journeys now over..

I console myself, that others await :)
Oh I hope that you get some help getting it prepped for the MOT. I had to sell my BMW when I did my back in. I could just about climb up the side stand to get my left foot on the peg but as to getting my right leg to behave - no. I feel your pain. I am hopeful of getting back on tow wheels next spring so never say never.

Not a huge mixer, standard home use electric version. Noise level, well hairdryer, it won't compare to the heavy plant, JCB, dumper trucks, lorries near enough every hour, road rollers and something that compresses the surface with sufficient pressure that this house vibrates. We think they will be finishing with tarmac. Hopefully while we are away in UK. At the same time the gigantic eyesore that is the new garage for the motorhome has been rendered. It must be costing €€€€. We have planted trees to improve the view, but some have failed due to the heat, despite getting all the washing up water. Curry flavoured cherries anyone?
Some folk seem to have money to throw about - are they related to that neighbour of @gennepher? You can always plant a few more trees in the autumn. All the best with the UK trip.

I feel for you, after my last operation it took me 5 months just to be able to get my bike off it’s centre stand. The result was in 2019 I sold it and bought a much lighter bike, I really did like my CBF1000, but it was just too much and part exchanged it for my 60kg lighter Yamaha 700.
Your first priority must and is getting back to as normal as you can be. Riding can wait.
Take care on that long road to recovery.

Hello everyone on National Beer Day, National Underwear Day, start of the Premier League football season, start of Edinburgh International Festival and Feast of St Oswald. My school House was Oswald. A different Oswald, of Worcester, who founded the Abbey (not as grand as it may sound). Meanwhile summer 2022 continues to be dry and warm here with no rain forecast for at least 10 days then only light rain showers. @gennepher good news on finding the unpasturised (no Z) cream and thanks for two wonderful creatives. We are truly spoiled. @dunelm yesterday sounds quite a tightly packed day of pleasures. Thanks for sharing the art and good news that the pain relief will enable you to gambol and frolic into town at least in your mind. Yes Mary, those were the days. @Krystyna23040 I hope the podiatrist goes well and I may try to manoeuvre into and out of the hot tub on Sunday. Today I have already delivered a granddaughter to pre-school, acquired the essential salmon and a pair of splendid pain au raisins for JKP. Later, there is a trip to the recycling centre before an appointment at Addenbrookes. Do stay safe as just because there is always a ball out there with your name on it there is absolutely no need to give your wicket away pointlessly. It is a team game. No I in team but sure is in winner, prize and ultimate.
Thank you @ianpspurs

Yesterday morning it was raining hard when I got up.
When I went out to feed the cats, there was Midnight on his usual end of my long swing, and on the other end was Jade keeping dry. Presumably her usual overnight accommodation was not rainproof that night.

I was hoping Jade would be on the swing when I got up this morning, but she is a free spirit and does her own thing. However, she has turned up for breakfast, and gone on her way.

The small birds are all arriving, sparrows, bluetits, greattits, one dunnock, one robin, one wren, and they are making a heck of racket. So much so that the new Mr Blackbird popped his head out of the clematis/honeysuckle bush to complain. Then Mr Blackbird flew to the path in front of Midnight, said a huge long tirade at Midnight (who just sat impassively and watched Mr Blackbird), then Mr Blackbird went under the swing where the dried cat biscuits were, took a couple and flew back to the clematis/honeysuckle bush.

Yesterday I left a full packet of butter out on top of the microwave when I took my cuppa to the front room. I forgot about it, and when I returned I couldn't understand what had happened. My brain didn't compute what this yellow stuff was all down the microwave, in the the microwave, all over the counter surface, down the washing machine, and spreading across the floor.

A 250 gram packet of butter goes a long long way...

Creative this morning is a kaleidoscope in Laboscope pointed at my lined foolscap paper and the notes I am making at the moment. I always make notes in different coloured biro pens, and different coloured fine felt tip pens. I don't absorb information if the whole page is in the same black pen/print. I am wasting my time. But if I use colour for notes or highlighters if reading non-fiction I will take it in very easily. My son used to get frustrated with me - but Mum you are not meant to highlight every word in the book (you know non-fiction book), you are supposed to just get a yellow highlighter and highlight a few words on each page, not all these different colours on every word in the page.

I tried to explain it was my method of learning and taking in information and all the different colours mean something different to my brain. But he didn't even remotely understand...

On that note it is now time to make a cuppa, and get my lined paper and coloured biros out.,.

hugs for the mess @gennepher and the waste of both butter and time.

Good morning everyone on what looks to be the harbinger of quite a pleasant day here in the dark and dangerous north. Smashing evening sat outside The Ship, overlooking the beach with eldest son and his partner. People still swimming in the sea and some surfers grabbing a last few waves. Mrs Miggins and her three sisters are off for afternoon tea today - nothing to celebrate but they have not been able to get themselves in the same place for quite a while so I guess it’s ‘catch up time’. Two zoom calls yesterday - Sister and then Mother who tells me that it’s a bit cooler - a balmy 31 degrees! Art bit, another tree branch completed so another one to start today. I hope that you all manage to enjoy your Friday. My days at present have to be kick started with two tramadol and two paracetamol. They kicked in about an hour ago so we can walk into town in a while. First though, another koffy.

Sounded a good evening last night @dunelm

Hug for the sobering realisation that you are in this for the long haul and some pleasures and cherished ambitions will eventually be all the sweeter for having been patient and realistic. Last two sentences are the way forward IMHO. Stay strong.

Belated Happy birthday to your mother and did you have good luck finding air conditioned lunch venue.
Italian all you can eat (without wasting any) buffet in St Hilaire du Harcuët is air conditioned... no idea if that's near your parents.
Driest July. I can believe it. Many of my vegetables are over before they begin, if you know what I mean, lettuce start bolting when they have only four leaves. Beans are too tough to eat. I have a few carrots and onions but really the only things with a reasonable crop are the potatoes that I planted under protest and the courgettes. Even there the green courgette seems to be giving up while the yellow one produces many more than we can eat. And the cherry tomatoes that i water illegally three times a day.

Normal, polite but distant neighbours. Work is always done in the usual hours. It's just such a huge project, with much landscaping. I'm sure they don't realise how much the noise disturbs us because they are both out at work all day while it's happening.

Our heads tell us and show us we can still do it, but alas the body lets us down very very badly...
You will find new journeys.
They will present themselves when the time is ready.
You have the best day you can.

While out yesterday at bikes.

Marley wanders over while I'm sat in car just answering a call, needed a seat after my exertions.:)

Mews a bit at me by the drivers open window.

Annoyed at being ignored he runs up bonnet of car and sits on roof. ..cheeky so & so ..:hilarious::hilarious:

Snap is from me in car seeing where he went, and I missed his run up the bonnet, but caught his dismount rather well

Street cats. Gotta love em.:hilarious::happy:

I love his pointy ears @jjraak

Tried the list of three things. Managed one. BUT, I did manage other things that weren't on the list. Today list is almost the same, one down, two to go.
Thanks for the suggestion and the hugs
Sounds good @SlimLizzy
I do the same actually, manage one thing on the list but do others that weren't on the list, and I give my self a big colourful tick for every extra job I did that wasn't on the list!!!
In that way I realise I have done not too badly!!!!

Like the idea of colourful ticks for extra jobs. I call that a winner.
