Thursday 1 September - bed and FBG both 7.9

I agree @Annb, time does seem to pass quicker. On mince, both grandsons love mince. It's so versatile.

B. TAG and back to SLC toast with salmon pate.

L. Nothing at Aqua Zumba before hurrying back to get grandson's lunch.

D. Couple of chicken drumsticks with sour cream dip and a salad of avocado, port salut, santini tomatoes.

Friday 2 September bed 7.9 FBG 7

B TAG and 2 slices of SLC toast with ham and coleslaw.

L. Nothing

D. Prawn cocktail with smashed avocado, mozzarella pearls, santini tomatoes, walnuts and pancetta crisps.

Boys were here in the afternoon for a while as Mum and Dad were working. I had a nice wee vodka and diet coke once they went home again.

@DJC3 - Sounds like a lovely wedding. It's so nice to have a celebration. It seem a while since the hen do. 20220902_183756.jpg

Thank you @Riva_Roxaban, for that. I still don't get what it is about though.

I asked Neil to get me some Brussels sprouts when he went to the shops yesterday morning. He came back with a pack of bean sprouts! I never have liked bean sprouts - to me they taste "earthy" or mouldy.

Not eating for now - stomach playing up again and I'm feeling pretty grotty anyway. Even hesitating over tea or coffee. BG is still pretty high all the same, despite taking a correction dose a couple of hours ago.

Black coffee and cream
Mushrooms and Bacon
Cod and mixed veg
Cheese

Has anyone tried downloading any of the recipe books in the new ‘members only’ section? Don’t know if it’s because I use the app but I couldn’t download or even look at anything but the title pages. The app doesn’t seem to have changed, it’s still a bit rubbish but I’m used to it now.
Todays food - a bit chaotic as family life has descended into chaos again
B- the two chicken wings off last nights roast chicken
L- Cold meat, coleslaw and cheese
D- ditto but with a few nuts too.

I can view all pages and download on my iPad. Let me know if there are any you particularly want and I’ll wing them over to you.

Today I’ve finally managed a day without any contraband! Yay.

Meal 1 - a bit too late as I ended up in a mega 2.5 hour telephone call with my former boss - was my ‘egg fried ‘rice’ aka mince’ dish. Then a bit later I ate the final bits of leftover pork from Sunday.

Hurrah! More emojis available. Thanks to techies who put them there.

Nothing today. I did feel a bit like having some bacon when Em was in and asked for some but I only had enough to give her a plate of crispy fried bacon. I didn't really need it anyway. Tea, some very watered down orange juice and more tea, but probably not sufficient for a day. Must have some more before I go to bed. I did prep some mushrooms and the dreaded bean sprouts but didn't get as far as the onions before I gave up on the idea. They'll still be there tomorrow.

BG hovering around 11 - 12 all day.

I tried but they dont download for me at all. I'm on an android tablet.

Seem to have yet another cold. Only 2 weeks since the last.
Still managed a busy day - just
A friend had requested an afternoon tea for her birthday so
Up at 08:00 cooking real scones
10:00 dance class
12:00 hard boiled eggs but they got burned so not very tasty
Buttered real bread ready for sandwiches. Decorated table
14:00 second dance class
15:30 home and making smoked salmon sandwiches and cream cheese and cucumber sandwiches.

16: served aforementioned sandwiches, mini frittatas (cooked yesterday), mini scones with home made damson jelly and cream, real coffee and walnut cake, hm lc coffee and walnut cake, mini chocolate cakes (shop bought).
I had 2 quarters of sandwich, several fritattas, 1 scone and the lc cake.
And a third of bottle prosecco.
There were probably other tastings through the day.

Then had to go to a meeting. Drank tea only.

Not a good day lc wise, but could have been a lot worse

Injecting for my meal was met with some minor trouble today. Right before these pictures Efraïm used his long prying paw to grab my pen while I was injecting, which meant I had to keep the needle inside me for safety until I had distracted the cat enough to make sure he wouldn't headbutt my pen before I'd had the chance to put the needle cap back on. :hilarious:
They definitely don't tell you about the real challenges of diabetes when newly diagnosed!

Still, very much worth it, love the cat and loved my meal, so all is well. :joyful:

He definitely behaves like that at times!
Had to look up the word moggy, but yes, that's him! Found in a field with his brother at around 8 weeks old, no mother or people in sight. Turned out to be a very good cat, keen hunter, very independent, but also very good in the cuddle department. :)
